Story
Meet Riley – Your Loyal, Adventure-Loving Best Friend! Riley has been waiting patiently for over a year to find his perfect match—and we know that the right person is out there! This intelligent, devoted, and fun-loving dog is looking for someone who appreciates his drive, his enthusiasm, and his big heart. 🐾 The Best of Two Amazing Breeds Riley is a mix of Australian Kelpie and German Shepherd, meaning he’s incredibly smart, athletic, and deeply loyal. He thrives on structure, loves learning new things, and is happiest when he has a job to do—whether that’s mastering commands, going on an adventure, or simply being your steadfast companion. 🎓 Training Superstar When Riley first came to Southpaw Rescue, he had never had any formal training. But with a month of dedicated work, he proved just how brilliant he is! He picks up new skills quickly, listens well, and genuinely wants to please his person. To help his new adopter start off strong, we’re even offering a one-on-one session with his trainer—you’ll be amazed at what Riley can do! 🏡 The Perfect Home for Riley Riley is deeply affectionate with his person but can be a little cautious around new people. With proper introductions, he warms up and becomes a loving companion. A calmer home without frequent new visitors would help him feel secure. While he is around other dogs in his foster home and can play well with them, Riley prefers one on one time with his person. He would do best as the only dog in the home. His perfect day includes a long walk or hike, a training session to engage his sharp mind, and then settling in for some well-earned belly rubs. Riley isn’t a challenging dog—he’s a dog who thrives with the right person. If you’re an experienced dog owner who loves structure, adventure, and the unwavering loyalty of a truly special dog, Riley is ready to be your best friend. Riley is neutered, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. He is crate trained. He walks well on leash, knows the command wait at a dog, knows "place", "focus", "wait", "come" and "leave it". https://www.southpawrescue.com/adoption-application

Story
LooLa is a fun little puppy full of life, loves to play and is very happy chasing frisbee or ball. She is a lover who loves a good belly rub and gives plenty of kisses. She enjoys chasing kids down and when with other dogs especially other puppies she plays very well. With larger dogs she is a little shy and frightens a bit easily. She is being potty trained currently and has improved a ton from when we first adopted her, but she is a puppy and needs attention. she is learning her way with resource guarding not too bad unless it is a high value treat in which case she wants to keep that treat to just herself. We have two young children and she has never been aggressive with them, though she does puppy mouth a bit and wants to play. She is exceptional in her crate, no accidents and she sleeps through the night with no barking, though she will let you know she needs to get out when she needs to. I wish I could keep her but am moving out of country soon.

Story
My mom is in first stages of dementia and can no longer take care of her. Mom was a irresponsible pet owner mentally and physically. Kept the dog inside for to long periods of time without exercise. Cami is very intelligent. Needs mental stimulation and physical activity. She can be around ppl of family but not trusted around strangers due to bad habits or lack or training. She does look for attention and acts different when mom is not around. Much relaxed and kind dog when moms presence is not around.
