Story
Handsome lad Hunter, an Australian Kelpie, is about 4 years old and 40-45 lbs.  He was rescued with many others from a breeding kennel. He is still a bit shy with people, but he's had a lot of training here and has improved a lot. He likes kiddie pools. He has an overall nice disposition- he's one of the few kennel dogs that doesn't bark when people go by. He has made human and canine friendships and is ready for adoption into his own forever home now. Hunter is great with all dogs. Hunter's best friends are Dobie and Dougie, who are also available for adoption. He was part of a group of around 10 dogs that came to us from the Lucerne Valley kennels in 2021. They were rescued by Brandon McMillan and one of our staff after the kennel owner died. All the others except him and Sam have been adopted, and they've been doing well in their homes. Email an application (see beaglesandbuddies.com) to find the application forms and see all the other dogs here.*Note that young dogs and pure breeds are at the highest end of our prices.* Please find our applications and valuable information under  "Adopt a dog"* on our website:  *www.beaglesandbuddies.com* and email your application to beaglesandbuddies@gmail.com. Let us know your preference of appointment day/time and which dogs you are interested in and we will do our best to accommodate and email you the closest appointment available. Please allow us up to a week to get back to you. Most appointments will be Friday-Sunday, 10 am - 2 pm, for an hour. *Note bring any other dog/s and the entire family to your meet and greet at B&B.* A complimentary training manual is included with each adoption, authored by terristeuben.com. Check out her website - she is fabulous! B&B is glad to be open during the pandemic. We know the value and comfort of a loving pet companion and are doing our best to help the dogs and folks who need them. We update our website daily and are always rescuing, vetting, rehabilitating, socializing. &#226&#128&#139 Are you my furrever family? For further info on the adoption process, please visit our home page and check out the "Adopt a Dog" section, which has thorough instructions.  All our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and  fully vaccinated before adoption; they have been wormed, bathed, socialized, walked daily and much loved; each adoptee leaves with a leash, collar, and all medical records.   Our prices are higher than the shelters' because we nurse the dogs through their illnesses and get them needed surgeries and dentals. We also spend time socializing. Furthermore, unlike shelters, rescues do not get financial aid from the government and must rely on donations, grants, and adoption fees. Our fees for adults start at $150 and usually go up to $750. Young adults that are high in demand may be a little over $750.00. For puppies and purebreds, we charge up to $1000. The lower end is for dogs who have been here a while. The good news is that, because rescues fall under the "charity" category, the fees for our dogs are officially donations and are therefore tax deductible. You can think of it as donating to a worthy cause and getting a dog in return!  Sponsor Me Beagles & Buddies must find ways to raise money so we can continue saving dogs. Your tax-deductible donation keeps our rescue kennel operating!  Hours Friday:  10 am to 3 pm Saturday:  10 am to 3 pm Sunday: 10 am to 3 pm Monday: CLOSED Tuesday: CLOSED Wednesday: CLOSED Thursday: CLOSED &#226&#128&#139 Weekday appointments may be available.  We are a small staff and do our best to accommodate your needs. **Note that during COVID, we are not holding open houses on any day. Please email us for an appointment and include your application (found on our website, beaglesandbuddies.com, under "Forms"). Most appointments will be Friday through Sunday, though other days may also be available. We usually schedule one appointment per hour. Allow 1-2 hours for your appointment. Please look at our website and make a list of one or more dogs that you would like to see. Contacting Us If you have a question about adopting, giving up a dog, boarding, or volunteering, please visit the appropriate tabs on our  home page. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Apprx 6-7 year old White Knight lived with a group of 15 other dogs in the desert for several years after their owner died. A good samaritan visited the pack several times a week to make sure they had food, water, and shelter, and little by little White Knight and a few others learned to trust him. During the summer of 2021, we all hatched a plan to get White Knight, his buddy Old Man, and Persephone out of there. Since then, White Knight and Old Man have been living with trainer Doug Price to learn how to relax, enjoy life, and trust humans. They will always be a bit shy, but White Knight has shown so much progress! And he loves to play with other dogs, even though he shakes a bit at first (see his videos). So we are hoping to find White Knight a home! Someone with love, time and patience to give him to allow him to settle in at his own pace. Adopting White Knight will also open up room to help another desert dog, so please consider adopting this special guy! His details:•Age approx 6-7• Aussie shepard mix• Loves dogs of all sizes, prefers more submissive, but confident dogs. Will do best with 1 or more dogs• crate trained, not house trained• tolerates being on leash• nervous around people, likes having his ears scratched, has never shown aggression. He will let my 4 yo granddaughter pet him. • he wants to trust people and does have a happy side, especially at feeding times. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.***COURTESY POST FOR THE GOOD SAMARITAN WHO FOUND DUTCH & NEEDS HELP REHOMING*** Dutch in a nutshell -- Approx 2y female Cattle dog mix. Decent leash etiquette, some separation anxiety. Very people-oriented but wary of strangers. Recommend single pet household. Absolutely no Benadryl (diphenhydramine) - had an anaphylactic reaction to it and had to be hospitalized for a day. No cats. Does well with humans after initial shyness. Enjoys food puzzles and has big herding breed energy! From Dutch herself: Hello! My name is Duchess, but my friends call me Dutch! I'm looking for my furever family. Cherian found me on the streets where other dogs most likely picked on me, so I learned to not trust too msny dogs, but I would love to be your best friend! I do my job and chase cats, so no cats for me! I'm still a little nervous with new people, but once I know that you're safe, I will give you all the kisses, tail wags, and cuddles you could ever want! I'll want to be with you all the time! We could go on the best adventures! I'm very energetic and thrive on regular exercise and adventure. You could even give me a job! I'm told I'm a 'herding breed' which means that I love to go go go! My foster mom makes sure I get in at least 3 miles a day, but I'd be happy with more! I'm also told sometimes I can be a handful. I'm still learning things like how to walk on a leash and handle other dogs in my space, but I really want to be the best girl! If you can be patient with me, I promise to be your very bestest friend!Email cause4sbpaws@gmail.com and we will put you in touch with Cherian to adopt!
