She’s had a rough beginning as she was picked up as a stray in Mexico, along with her sister. They came to us extremely scared of everything and have come a long way since being with us. While her sister got adopted shortly after, Athena got left behind still looking for her forever family. She is one of our special girls who needs her forever family to be really patient with her as she learns to get comfortable with you. She is still very shy and we suggest a home with no kids and a female-only household. Hi, I’m Linus and I’m the cutest freckled boy around! I’m 1.5 years old and the shelter said I’m an Australian kelpie, I’m about 45 pounds so I’m the perfect size to cuddle with! I’m so sweet and I love cuddling. I like making friends with dogs and humans whenever I go out! I’m incredibly smart, I’ve learned to open doors by jumping up on them so I may surprise you with more things I learn in the future; I know that’s a little naughty and I’m still learning some manners such as not jumping up! I love playing with my toys except I don’t always like to share specific chewing toys so I’ll growl at other dogs but I’m learning I can’t resource guard so you’ll have to keep teaching me, like I said I’m incredibly smart so I’ve already started learning. I also have an amazing rock collection I can’t wait to show you. I’m crate trained so I can’t eat anything I’m not supposed to while I’m unsupervised since I really like picking up rocks! I may not be the best fit for a family with young children since I jump a lot and I guess I’m not as small as I think! I love playing with all my dog friends, running laps, wrestling and playing tug-o-war. I really love the cats in my foster home but I’ve had to learn to be gentle and not to chase so now I love kissing them. I will need to continue my training and have structure so I can continue to grow into the perfect dog but I’m so excited to start bonding together and show you my big brains, you’ll fall in love immediately with my cute wiggle butt, sweet face and all of my freckles! Ozzie was found abandoned on the street and taken to a high-intake shelter. After about a month without being adopted, a foster stepped in and promoted him, and I brought him home to give him a chance. He is an 1~2 years old Australian Shepherd mix, 77 lbs, very people-friendly, affectionate, cuddly, smart, and highly food-motivated (learns quickly). He is still adjusting and is working on leash reactivity around other dogs (barking/lunging), which has already improved with positive-reinforcement training and should continue to get better with consistency. Cats are not a good fit, he may fixate and want to chase, so a cat-free home is recommended. He can also jump up when greeting due to excitement, so a home without very young kids is preferred until trained. Vaccines are up to date, heartworm negative, deworming/flea-tick done. Neuter appointment is scheduled for Feb 4. Ideal home: patient, loving, has time for training/exercise, preferably no cats and no other dog at first.
