Story
2 yr old tricolor M/N Kelpie/GSD mix Looking for a dogs dog?? Gunner is your guy! He was comfortable enough around me, allowed touch, took treats, interacted some with me, but he really really wanted to play with the big dog in the next yard. He wasn't aloof though! Took treats gently, eager to please and loved being called a good boi, it was a fun yard time for both us us He does seem to be feeling the stress from the shelter, some have had some trouble getting him out of his kennel but he was perfectly behaved for me. This is an active breed, he will need consistent physical and mental exercise to be happy, it is likely what is causing his current stress and occasional barrier reactivity. It is worth noting that he was a very loud bork monster when I first approached his kennel but after 3 treats he was ready to follow me anywhere I was going Knows how to sit, walks well on the leash (just a tiny bit of pulling) and seemed potty trained!! ##2528145##

Pickles is a joyful, high-energy guy who absolutely loves people and thrives on interaction. He’s affectionate, social, and happiest when he’s engaged—whether that’s playtime, training, or heading out for an adventure. Pickles does great with other dogs and enjoys having canine friends. He’s very excitable and athletic, with an impressive jump, so he’ll do best with an active person or family who can give him regular exercise, structure, and positive outlets for his energy. He’s crate trained, food-motivated, and eager to learn. With consistency and enrichment, Pickles settles nicely and shows just how loving and devoted he can be. If you’re looking for a fun, enthusiastic companion who’s ready to keep up with an active lifestyle and give you endless affection in return, Pickles could be your perfect match. 💛

Story
SHYA is a 1 year 3 month old Australian Kelpie, weighing about 28lbs. She was lost and taken to an overcrowded shelter where she was not claimed in time and was due to be euthanized, but was saved by an emergency foster at the last minute. She now needs her forever home as soon as possible. Shya is very sweet and loving, but a bit shy, timid and scared (non-aggressive, submissive), and needs preferably a female human with a little time and patience to help her learn to trust again. She settled into her foster home within a couple of hours, and is very playful and affectionate with her foster mom. She loves cuddles and belly rubs! Shya does suffer from some separation anxiety, and will need to be helped through this. Shya gets on well with other dogs. Submissive and cautious at first, she loves to chase and be chased by small dogs, or dogs her own size. Wrestling is also great fun! She is good with large, chill dogs, but scared of boisterous dogs, or dogs that bark continually. SHYA is fully housebroken, spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations. She is smart, with a lovely temperament, and will make a wonderful addition to a loving person’s life. For videos, more photos and information, and to meet SHYA, please contact: theanimalsleftbehind@socal.rr.com (also our PayPal email address for sponsorships and donations)

Story
Meet Pasadena Humane’s gentle guy, Koda! This sweet 8-year-old cattle dog is looking for a calm home where he can settle in and enjoy the simple things in life — easy walks, soft company, and plenty of sniff breaks. While shelter life has been a little overwhelming for him, Koda truly shines once he’s outside enjoying fresh air and quiet walks. He can be sensitive to loud noises and new environments, but he leans into his people for comfort and has such a kind, gentle nature. He enjoys treats, enrichment, and being close to his people. Koda would thrive in a home where he can relax, decompress, and get the comfort and care he deserves. If you’re looking for a loyal walking buddy with a sweet side, come meet Koda and give this deserving senior his next chapter.

Story
#A5778525 Orea is a 2-year-old spayed female Australian Cattle Dog mix with a gorgeous black coat and adorable white speckled legs 🖤🤍 Weighing 43 lbs, Orea was surrendered due to her owners moving and is now looking for a fresh start. She can be cautious around new adults at first, so it's important to go slow and give her time to build trust. Once she feels comfortable, her sweet personality begins to shine. She seems to have a special soft spot for kids and visibly brightens when she sees them. Smart, observant, and eager to learn, Orea is everything people love about the Australian Cattle Dog breed. Orea walks beautifully on leash, shows signs of being housebroken, and enjoys playing in the yard. She was friendly with other dogs through the fence and perked right up when she saw them. She prefers a gentle playstyle and would thrive with a patient adopter who can help build her confidence and continue her training. -2 years old, spayed female, 43 lbs -Australian Cattle Dog mix -Owner surrender due to move -Gorgeous black coat with white speckled legs -Go slow and build trust -Walks great on leash -Shows signs of housebreaking -Friendly with other gentle dogs -Smart, sweet, and eager to learn 🐾 OREA’S VIDEO: https://youtube.com/shorts/1arh7A2Ix2k For more information, contact volunteer Lor at lor@unitedhopeforanimals.org Look up this or other animals at Baldwin Park Animal Care Center https://animalcare.lacounty.gov/view-our-animals/ Use their unique ID NUMBER.
