You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. To apply to adopt this dog now, complete our adoption application   HERE To see our upcoming events where you can meet some of our dogs, please see   HERE Age: One year old at 11/29/25 Weight: 56 lbs. at 11/29/25 This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. This girl Scout is offering so much more than cookies. A one-year-old, reddish-brown Australian Kelpie mix, Scout loves to play in the yard, chill by the TV, and cuddle up on a soft couch cushion (she may need to adapt to your home's furry-bodies-on-furniture rules). She's simply the sweetest girl with so much joy to offer a loving home, and those soulful brown eyes will have you at hello. Scout spent some time roaming the street, so she can be a little cautious when meeting new people or new dogs, but it won't be long before she lets her fur down and makes herself right at home (she's currently living in a full house with four other dogs and having a blast!). Some of her favorite games are tug-of-war, fetch, and chase, and she absolutely loves to run, so if you have space, she'll put it to very good use. She's also perfectly comfortable riding in a car or dozing in a crate, just a sweet, well-behaved companion all around. She can't wait to meet you, so come see if Scout might be the forever friend you're looking for.   An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see   HERE   for more information about this. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. To apply to adopt this dog now, complete our adoption application   HERE To see our upcoming events where you can meet some of our dogs, please see   HERE Age:  2 yrs (as of 11/13/25) Weight: 55 lbs. (as of 11/13/25) Location: RI This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Everybody loves Rosie! Say hello to this lovely, loyal two-year-old Australian Kelpie mix who's looking for her new forever home. At that perfect young adult age, Rosie Hip loves chilling out on the couch on a cold winter's night but is always ready to go for a ride or play chase with her canine siblings or neighbors. When she's playing with her squeaky toys and chew toys, that's when you'll see her puppy instincts in full swing! Rosie's not the biggest fan of crates, but she's been able to adapt so would do fine if crates are your preference. While you're out earning a paycheck, she's perfectly content to stay either indoors (she has a no-accident track record!). She does really well in the car, so is happy to accompany you on errands, but she's even more excited to take walks and is real proud of the leash walking skills she's learned. She's playful, affectionate, and even-tempered around adults, children, dogs, and cats, so would do well in a high-traffic household, a quiet bachelor pad, or anything in between. Rosie and her brother Max Hip (see separate listing) were house dogs to an ailing elderly couple who had extended periods of immobility and have now passed away, so they'll need a little extra attention while they acclimate to new homes. They're available either individually or as a pair. Rosie's waiting to meet you! An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see   HERE   for more information about this. Story
Bella 🐾 Meet Bella! 🐾 Bella is a 5–6 month old pup with a heart full of love and a personality that’s equal parts playful and cuddly. 💕 ✨ Fun Facts About Bella: 1. Potty trained — no accidents since day one! 🚽👏 2. The biggest cuddle bug 🛋️ 3. Loves car rides (as long as she can touch you) 🚗❤️ 4. Super playful, floppy, and full of puppy energy 🎾 5. Smart girl who already knows “sit” 🐾 Bella’s favorite things? Sunbathing after potty breaks 🌞, flopping down leash and all, and “talking” at her reflection with the cutest little howl-growl combo. 🐶 She’s had a tough start to life and can be timid with men and kids, but she is never aggressive. She does great hanging out in a bathroom with her bed and toys, but a crate makes her very anxious. She’s working hard on puppy manners like “sit before pets” and “sit before food,” and she takes direction well. Bella is both a couch potato and a playmate — she loves walks, playtime, and then snuggling close. She just wants to be loved, reassured, and never left behind again. 💙 🏡 Ideal Home: Bella would thrive in a home where she can be the center of attention and get plenty of affection, exercise, and continued training. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who’ll make you laugh, keep you company, and love you endlessly, Bella is your girl. 🥰 If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at https://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/forms PLEASE MAKE NOTE- OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN ALABAMA (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED), OUR DOGS TRANSPORT TO THEIR NEW FAMILIES IN RHODE ISLAND AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED. Our pets are adoptable in Alabama and New England States. Our adoption fee includes transport fee, spay/neuter, current vaccinations, deworming, heart worm test for animals over 7 months old, all necessary vetting and an interstate health certificate. Once an application is received, our team is happy to answer all of your questions and send additional pictures and videos. Thank you for thinking rescue!

Story
Meet Ariel, a brave and beautiful soul who embodies the best of both worlds: an adventurous spirit with a gentle, loving heart. Ariel is around 1 year old or older, we’re not sure of age, weighing around 30lbs. We believe she may be a Kelpie mix. She is a curious and playful pup, always ready to explore and discover new things, yet she is also dignified and quiet, with a loyal and protective nature. Ariel is an independent thinker, but don't let that fool you - she is a social butterfly who loves nothing more than to be by your side, offering gentle affection and a listening ear. With her athletic build, she is always up for a game or a walk, but she is just as happy curling up for some quiet time. Ariel is a smart cookie, too, always eager to learn and please. She is a true friend, a brave companion, and a loyal confidante, offering a gentle nudge and a listening ear. This wonderful girl is ready to find her forever family and fill your home with love, laughter, and gentle adventures. Could that be with you? Ariel is spayed, fully vetted and microchipped. Our pups come with one month of free pet insurance when you adopt. If you’re interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website at https://packleadersrescue.com/adoption-application/

Story
Let me introduce you to the warm soul we call George, He has a comforting presence. George can come off a little reserved at first, but that’s just because he’s not the type to push for attention. He’s the quiet kind—like a best friend who’s always there, steady and grounding. George has all the traits of a loyal, loving dog and he is ready to find himself at home. What stands out most about George is how easy his company is. He’s slow and steady across the board—whether he’s meeting new people, walking on leash, hanging with other dogs, or encountering a cat.. Based on his look and temperament, we think he may be a Kelpie/Shepherd mix, estimated to be around 4 years old, and he weighs 50 lbs. As with any rescue, we can’t say with total certainty on age or breed, but he is fully-grown size so we can testify to how perfectly midsize he is. George is so fortunate and is being fostered in a loving home while he waits for his adoption day and this not only gives us a front-row account to hi personality but he also gets to learn and master the best house manners while he waits. His foster has praised George for how well he rides in the car- laying in the back peacefully, only perking up once they have arrived. He is also both house and crate trained! We loooove that! George lives with both cats and dogs in his foster home and he gets along well with them all. We spent an afternoon with George outside of his foster home to get a feel of his play style and approach to new dogs along with observing him meet a new cat. The first thing that jumped out was just how politely George meets new dogs on-leash. He showed a little excitement when he saw the first dog, it was contained but obvious, he was happy to meet a possible playmate. With each additional dog the approach was the same, neutral and calm. Although he never found the perfect playmate to really let loose, he was easy company and is dog-friendly. The most natural pairing was with a female, similar age to him, with a sense of confidence and bouts of playfullness. If going into a home with another dog, that would be almost exactly the type of dog he would be best with. Dogs like George, who come across as reserved, are often naturally independent, confident and content with their own company. Another quality we love! Even though we know George lives with cats we love to see a dog in a new environment, meeting a new cat to get a grasp on what that could look like once he is arriving in a new home. He was introduced on leash and he was curious but respectful and calm. As the cat got more animated and jumpy playing with a toy, George definitely thought it was an invitation to play. He obviously can live peacefully with cats but we all know, cat personalities are a variable. If joining a house with a cat(s), it would be best if they were dog savvy. He will respect a swat and may need one to mind a boundary. George would do great in a home with a yard, if for no other reason than his simple joy of laying in the shade on a patch of green grass. It is heaven to watch! He has great basic leash skills with a nice pace but a hectic, busy environment might throw off his vibes. Basically, the busy environment of elevators and lobby are not for him. He could do it, but we can see he isn’t much of a busy city guy. The same goes for family-life, he could do it but he has really been spoiled by a foster home with the occasional 20 something year old kid coming by to do laundry. In other words, empty-nester? Not with George! He is ready to fill your time with good company! Invite this boy home to peaceful place and a patch of grass, with a doggie friend and a cool cat and George will be there to take it all in—his pace and by your side! If you’ve got room in your life for a gentle heart and a quiet companion, George is ready to bring calm, sweetness, and unwavering loyalty into your world. Questions? Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!  Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.  The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs. It doesn’t stop there! Story
Sweet Dixie has been at the rescue for a little over a year. The group of dogs that she entered care with were quickly adopted out. She is still waiting. Dixie was a young mom who had to scrounge for food while living outside. She no longer has to wonder where her next meal is coming from, but she is still wondering when someone will choose her. Dixie is an energetic girl who just wants to be near her human - she prefers women. She loves to roll in the grass in the sunshine and take walks. Dixie is energetic and enjoys running around at a dog park. Being a heeler, she is very smart and quick to learn. She really wants to please. Dixie would love to find a home where she feels secure and can be active. She will need time to settle in and get used to the routines of the household. Dixie is a sweet girl with a lot of love to give. She is not good with cats and is dog selective.FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. Story
Mr. Dash is like a sad movie dog with a hopeful forever story. He's a bundle of love me energy wrapped in a fuzzy package. Full of energy with a calm core. He's very receptive to guidance and extremely eager to learn how to be loved. This is literally his second chance at life, and he knows it. He's great with cats, kids, piles of puppies, and his dozen foster homies. He plays great, learned hand signals for guidance, and is extremely intelligent. Dash doesn't chew up the household goods and walks great on a leash. He would do best with a buddy because a tired dog is the greatest kind of dog. He would also be great someone active if he was an only dog. If it wasn't for rescue, he wouldn't have had a chance to know how to love and have the opportunity to meet his forever family.
