This loving girl was found in Puerto Rico sitting under a coconut tree on a beach known to be a place where people dump dogs. A kindly couple saw her there and assumed she was waiting for her owners but three days later she was still in the same spot, hungry, and trembling. The couple took her in and discovered she was the sweetest dog ever! They had her spayed and vaccinated and on February 6 this lucky girl arrived to her new foster home in the northeast, ready for a loving family of her own. Ginger doesn’t have an aggressive bone in her body, she is all kisses, wiggles and wags! She loves other dogs and is gentle with children. Ginger is medium energy and loves to run around outside but when she’s home she likes to curl up with her toys or a bone or try to snuggle on her foster parents laps! Ginger is completely housebroken and fully grown at 32 pounds. She will make some lucky family a wonderful new addition. Wags of Monroe county is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Meet the captivating Koda—an 18 month old Kelpie mix with a unique, chocolate brown brindle coat that is sure to turn heads wherever he goes. True to his unique breed mix, Koda is very intelligent and has a fun-loving personality. In typical puppy fashion, he loves to play, befriends everyone he meets, and can’t wait to join you on all your adventures! In case you aren’t familiar with the Australian Kelpie (don’t worry, this volunteer wasn’t, either!) they are totally Type A personality: curious, driven and athletic. They’re also friendly but alert. While they’ll love joining you for Aunt Carol’s poolside BBQ, they also act like self-appointed security guards. If they hear something outside, they will let you know! Koda has made himself known as the perfect house guest with just three short weeks in foster care. Sully from our “Monster's Inc.” litter may look like a big, fluffy “scarer,” but don’t let that fool you, this sweet boy is all heart. He is 7 months old and is an Australian Shepherd mixed breed. Sully is still young and while he can be a little shy at first, it doesn’t take long for his gentle, affectionate side to shine through. Once he feels safe, he leans in for love and will happily stick by your side like your own personal (very handsome) shadow. Sully would thrive in a home that understands he just needs a little time to settle in. He’s been through more than most puppies his age (he was found after being dumped in the middle of nowhere, he and his siblings bravely made their way to safety). Because of this, he would do best in a home with kids 12+ and would absolutely benefit from having another dog around to help build his confidence. With a little patience, Sully is going to grow into the most loyal, loving companion.
