Story
2 yr old tricolor M/N Kelpie/GSD mix Looking for a dogs dog?? Gunner is your guy! He was comfortable enough around me, allowed touch, took treats, interacted some with me, but he really really wanted to play with the big dog in the next yard. He wasn't aloof though! Took treats gently, eager to please and loved being called a good boi, it was a fun yard time for both us us He does seem to be feeling the stress from the shelter, some have had some trouble getting him out of his kennel but he was perfectly behaved for me. This is an active breed, he will need consistent physical and mental exercise to be happy, it is likely what is causing his current stress and occasional barrier reactivity. It is worth noting that he was a very loud bork monster when I first approached his kennel but after 3 treats he was ready to follow me anywhere I was going Knows how to sit, walks well on the leash (just a tiny bit of pulling) and seemed potty trained!! ##2528145##

She absolutely loves water, and probably would love the lake or pool time. She gets zoomies on her walks and is just so happy to be around people she loves. If you think Ronnie would be a great friend and new family member, please come meet her and give her a chance. We would love to see her with someone who is willing to go the extra mile for her and help her get through! Please read the animal bios completely before requesting additional information as we do our best to answer the most frequently ask questions in these bios. In order to adopt one of our animals an application must be submitted and approved. You can find these applications by going to http://humanemorgan.org/index.php?page=adoption ABOUT ADOPTING FROM THE HSMC: The shelter address is 1170 Fairground Rd. Madison, GA 30650. For more information on any of our pets, please feel free to email us at INFO@HUMANEMORGAN.ORG give us a call at 706-343-9977. All dogs are heartworm negative, current on vaccines/dewormings, and microchipped. All cats are current on vaccines/deworming, and microchipped. We are open 12pm-5pm Sunday-Friday and 10 am-5pm on Saturday, we schedule our last adoption at 4pm everyday to allow our staff enough time to feed and walk dogs. We are an animal shelter and therefore are not able to individually potty train our residents. Many adult dogs do arrive “house broken” however due to animal behavior any change in environment will make an emotional impact on the animals and therefore initiate unwanted behaviors during the acclamation period. Please keep this in mind. Puppies do not have the biological maturity to maintain absolute bladder or bowel control and will require a certain degree of potty training and house breaking. Please consider the time and commitment it takes to provide the necessary building blocks for these special babies, prior to submitting your application. If you have any questions please email us at info@humanemorgan.org and provide name of the animal you are interested in, in the subject line. Thank you, HSMC Staff ADOPTION FEES Adoption Fees may change without notice. Story
Meet Tater, a loyal companion with a big heart and an even bigger personality. He’s incredibly friendly, loves being around people, and thrives on playtime whether that’s chasing a ball, running through the grass, or just enjoying the moment with his family. He’s also naturally protective, always keeping a watchful eye and making sure his home and loved ones are safe. That balance of playful energy and loyal instinct makes him a great fit for someone looking for both a fun loving dog and a devoted companion. Tater especially loves being in the grass and would truly benefit from a home with more space to run and explore, as we currently don’t have a yard. He’s ready to bring joy, security, and unconditional love into his next home.

Story
Bennett is a dog that has come back to our rescue through no fault of his own. We originally pulled him from Newton County Animal Control in 5/2024, a day before he was going to be put down. He stayed at our rescue till 11/2024 when he got adopted. Due to financial difficulties with the adopters he has returned to our rescue and is looking for his forever home again. He is now about 3 years old, neutered, up to date on vaccines, micro-chipped, heartworm negative and on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. Bennett's a happy, fun loving dog! He has had play dates with our doctor's dog and they got along great. One of our vet techs took him on a run with her and he ran well right along side her. He enjoys going on walks and is calm in his kennel and doesn't get bothered with dogs barking around him. He loves a good stuffed animal to throw around the yard and carry in his mouth. But he can be cuddly too and will rest his head against your shoulder when you go in his kennel with him. If you're interested in meeting Bennett make an appointment to meet him by calling 770-787-4899. Adoption application and interview required for adoption. He is located at Ross Animal Hospital, Covington GA.

Story
This pretty girl is Suki! She arrived at the shelter as a lost dog with ID on 5/9, and sadly, no one has come to reclaim her. The volunteers describe Suki as very sweet and fun-loving. She is good in her kennel, and she responds to several commands including sit, shake, and down. She gets very excited about treats, but needs some work learning to take them gently. It is great she is food motivated, she'll learn new things quickly - and she's eager to please, she just needs someone patient and kind to teach her. Suki is approximately 2 years old, and weighs 27 lbs. She is UTD on vaccines, has been microchipped and spayed, and did test negative for heartworms. Suki is waiting patiently in kennel 313; her ID # is 18869 Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Story
Pure is a beautiful Australian Shepherd husky mix.  She is a big girl with a big smile!  She loves laying in the morning sun and playing with squeaky toys (mainly to get that squeaker out!).  She is very loving with people, loves to cuddle, and get belly rubs.  Although a little anxious around other dogs, she does tolerate them.  Come see if Pure could be your next running companion!      May 18, 2026, 2:50 pm
