BEST WAY TO INQUIRE, EMAIL Adoptions@BAMMRESCUEPDX.ORG 2 yr old tricolor M/N Kelpie/GSD mix Looking for a dogs dog?? Gunner is your guy! He was comfortable enough around me, allowed touch, took treats, interacted some with me, but he really really wanted to play with the big dog in the next yard. He wasn't aloof though! Took treats gently, eager to please and loved being called a good boi, it was a fun yard time for both us us He does seem to be feeling the stress from the shelter, some have had some trouble getting him out of his kennel but he was perfectly behaved for me. This is an active breed, he will need consistent physical and mental exercise to be happy, it is likely what is causing his current stress and occasional barrier reactivity. It is worth noting that he was a very loud bork monster when I first approached his kennel but after 3 treats he was ready to follow me anywhere I was going Knows how to sit, walks well on the leash (just a tiny bit of pulling) and seemed potty trained!! ##2528145##

Story
Joey is a sweet, affectionate boy bursting with love and personality. We don’t know much about his past—only that he and his siblings were found dumped behind a dumpster. Despite everything, Joey’s gentle heart shines through. He can be a little skittish around loud noises and brooms, but he absolutely adores affection and has the cutest little wiggle butt when he’s happy. Unfortunately, Joey is heartworm positive and is currently in the first phase of treatment, which involves daily medications. To continue with the next phases—which include injections—Joey urgently needs a calm foster or adoptive home where he can rest, relax, and be spoiled with love. He’s not high-energy right now and would do best in a mellow environment where he can just hang out, feel safe, and start the next chapter of his healing journey.

Story
Benzo is a sweet boy. He listens great and just does his own thing most of the time. He doesn’t play with toys. He doesn’t walk on leash. He occasionally with play with another dog but mostly he just hangs out. FENCED YARD AND A DOG DOOR NEEDED! He is GOOD WITH OTHER DOGS of all sizes, no cats, older kids. Benzo has never lived in a normal home. Here at the kennel house he just goes from his room to the backyard and back most of the time. He rarely ventured around to explore. He deserves a chance to be in a normal home. If you think you can be the pet parent and home he deserves pls apply. He’s been here for almost 3 years.

Story
Maggie is incredibly sweet and easygoing. When she’s getting the affection she so deeply craves, she gently tucks her head into your arm—it’s her special way of saying thank you. Maggie is one of four dogs who were sadly dumped behind a dumpster a few months ago. While the experience clearly upset her, she showed real bravery by wandering into a nearby neighborhood, ultimately leading a kind woman back to help rescue the others. She’s not just loving—she’s smart, too. Maggie is a little wary of brooms and sticks, and I’ve noticed the same reaction in the other dogs from her group, so it’s likely tied to their past. But with patience and love, she’s blossoming every day.

Story
Minnie Mouse is an absolute treasure. This precious girl is gentle, affectionate, and oh-so-smart. She has a laid-back, easygoing personality but also lights up when it’s time to play fetch—her favorite game! Right now, Minnie is carrying a little extra weight (48 lbs when she should be closer to 40), but she doesn’t let it slow her down. With some regular exercise and a bit of portion control, she’ll be back to her ideal size in no time. And let’s be honest—who among us hasn’t had a few extra snacks now and then? 😉 Minnie has been with us for far too long. Her brother was adopted when they were just puppies, but for reasons we can’t understand, Minnie has lingered here for years. She’s happy and well-loved, but we know she would absolutely thrive in a real home where she could finally have the family she deserves.

Story
Bennett is looking for a foster until we can find him a forever home! Bennett is a dog that has come back to our rescue through no fault of his own. We originally pulled him from Newton County Animal Control in 5/2024, a day before he was going to be put down. He stayed at our rescue till 11/2024 when he got adopted. Due to financial difficulties with the adopters he has returned to our rescue and is looking for his forever home again. He is now about 3 years old, neutered, up to date on vaccines, micro-chipped, heartworm negative and on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. Bennett's a happy, fun loving dog! He has had play dates with our doctor's dog and they got along great. One of our vet techs took him on a run with her and he ran well right along side her. He enjoys going on walks and is calm in his kennel and doesn't get bothered with dogs barking around him. He loves a good stuffed animal to throw around the yard and carry in his mouth. But he can be cuddly too and will rest his head against your shoulder when you go in his kennel with him. If you're interested in meeting Bennett make an appointment to meet him by calling 770-787-4899. Adoption application and interview required for adoption. He is located at Ross Animal Hospital, Covington GA.
