Story
Libby is sure a unique-looking young girl; how can anyone not love her huge ears!! She is thought to be an Australian Kelpie Mix (possibly with Bull Terrier). She weighs about 30 lbs. Her estimated date of birth is June 5th 2023. Libby is a typical puppy, very energetic and playful. She likes to jump and can sometimes forget herself and be a little too rough with other dogs. But….…she is young and needs to learn boundaries and manners in order to evolve into a wonder family member with a forever family she so deserves.. This sweet pup likes playing with other dogs; she’s great with dogs and would enjoy the companionship of another dog in the home. Most likely, a young or middle-aged adult dog would prefer his company much more so than a senior dog. An ideal family for Libby is one able to assimilate the enthusiasm and playfulness of a puppy into their lifestyle and is willing to commit the time to working with and training Libby to be her best self! A secure fenced yard is required; another younger or middle-aged pup in the family could also be advantageous. Libby is crate-trained and is working hard to improve her house manners (housebreaking). She is up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations, is on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Her spay is included in her adoption fee. For information about adding this adorable girl to your family please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895.

Story
Marigold comes to us from San Antonio TX with 4 other siblings. She is the baby of the group a quiet little soul who's been easy to overlook, but is slowly starting to show us there's more to her story. Shes often been the most disengaged of the five, but it may simply be because her more confident siblings tend to take the spotlight. She looks to Magnolia for guidance and comfort, following her lead in new situations. And as Magnolia has started to grow more confident, we've seen Marigold begin to blossom too. Its those small, connected steps that are so special watching her build courage through the trust she places in her friend. Marigold has started coming to the front of her kennel and venturing outside during playgroups instead of staying tucked away inside. Shes interacting more with the environment and observing the world around her, slowly finding her footing. She does allow handling, but because she tends to let others take the lead, she can still be a bit of a challenge to actively engage with. She isn't very treat-motivated though, to be fair, her packmates are usually quicker to snatch them up first! Marigold is: Dog-friendly and gains confidence from her companions Gentle, observant, and quietly progressing Beginning to explore more of her surroundings Independent in her own subtle way, just at her own pace Marigold will thrive in a patient home that understands shy dogs and will celebrate the small wins. A calm, confident dog friend especially one she can bond with will help her continue to grow. She may not demand attention, but Marigold is quietly searching for someone who will see her, believe in her, and give her the chance to bloom. Marigold and the littermates will be in Elgin, IL the second week of July. These dogs didn't have the opportunity to experience much of the world before coming into rescue, so they are under-socialized and lacking confidence. With patience, love and gentle guidance, we believe they will continue to make incredible progress.

Story
Meadow is the heart of her little pack -a gentle ringleader who shows the others what bravery looks like, one small step at a time. She and four other young dogs came from a property in San Antonio where they had almost no human interaction. The only person they knew was an elderly man who would step outside to leave food and water. Because of that, Meadow is still learning what it means to feel safe with people. Despite her shyness, Meadow is the most social of the group and the first to approach. Shell come up to the kennel, sniff your hand, and especially if you have treats she will gather the courage to get a little closer. Shes treat-motivated and will gently take them from you, which is a big step forward for a pup who's still figuring out trust. Right now, touch can still feel scary to her, but shes curious and willing and that's everything. With patience, kindness, and a calm home (bonus points for a confident dog friend!), Meadow has so much potential to blossom into a wonderful companion. Meadow is: Dog-friendly Curious and quietly brave Treat-motivated Learning to trust, one step at a time She deserves a chance at a new life, one where shes not just surviving, but truly loved. If you have a gentle heart and the patience to let her come out of her shell, Meadow will reward you with the kind of bond that only comes from giving a shy dog a second chance. Ready to help Meadow bloom? Reach out to meet her. Meadow and the littermates will be in Elgin, IL the second week of July.

Story
Mingo is the charming, scruffy boy of the group from a Texas kill shelter with big ears and wiry hair that give him an irresistibly unique look. He's the third most social of his pack, and with every interaction, you can see his confidence growing. Coming from a background with very little human contact, Mingo is learning step by step that people can be kind and safe. The progress hes made has been so encouraging, especially with the help of a trusted female handler. Through her guidance and participation in playgroups, Mingo has started to truly come out of his shell. He now regularly leaves his kennel to explore the yard, investigate new things, and spend time playing with other dogs. Even better, hes begun greeting us when we approach a huge milestone for a shy pup like him! While handling is still a bit of a challenge, hes clearly on a positive path and gaining confidence with each session. Mingo is: Dog-friendly and enjoys playgroups Slowly building confidence with each interaction Especially responsive to female handlers Curious, improving, and eager to explore Mingo will need a patient, understanding home that can continue helping him feel safe and secure. A friendly dog companion and a calm environment will go a long way in helping him keep progressing. With time, encouragement, and love, Mingo is going to be an incredible companion. Mingo and the littermates will be in Elgin, IL the second week of July. These dogs didn't have the opportunity to experience much of the world before coming into rescue, so they are under-socialized and lacking confidence. Story
Meet Magnolia Magnolia is a soft, sensitive soul with a gentle spirit and quiet mom energy. She has a beautiful cattle dog look and a heart thats still learning how to feel safe in the world. Out of her group, Magnolia is the most fearful and tends to hang back, often retreating to a corner where shell try to make herself small or may tremble when overwhelmed. Human touch is still very scary for her right now, and she can shut down during handling but this isn't who she is, its just what shes learned. Even so, there are small, hopeful glimmers of who Magnolia can become. She will lean in to sniff treats, though shes still unsure about taking them. She shows a clear preference for female handlers and seems to find comfort in their presence. And most importantly she truly comes alive around other dogs. In playgroups, Magnolia relaxes, explores, and begins to show a spark of confidence. She interacts beautifully with other dogs and gains bravery by following their lead. Watching her step out of her kennel with her canine friends is where you really start to see her potential. Magnolia is: Dog-friendly and thrives with canine companions Gentle, sensitive, and in need of patience Beginning to build confidence in safe environments Most comfortable with calm, understanding female handlers Magnolia will need a very patient, understanding home, one that will give her the time and space to move at her own pace. A confident, friendly dog in the home will be key to helping her blossom. She may be the shyest of the group, but with love, compassion, and time, Magnolia has the potential to grow into something truly beautiful. If you believe in quiet transformations and giving the most fragile souls a chance, Magnolia is waiting for you. Magnolia and the littermates will be in Elgin, IL the second week of July. Anderson Humane makes no guarantees regarding medical or behavioral status of this animal, and the current owner is solely responsible for disclosing any challenges or concerns. Anderson Humane is not responsible for any unsuccessful adoptions. Stella is a sweet, affectionate girl looking for a loving home where she can be the center of attention. Due to ongoing conflicts with her littermate sister, we have made the difficult and heartbreaking decision to rehome her so she can live in an environment where everyone stays safe and happy. We truly believe Stella would thrive as the only pet in the household. Stella is calm by nature and not overly energetic, but she absolutely enjoys playtime, training sessions, and spending quality time with her people. She is incredibly smart and picked up basic commands very quickly. She knows sit, lay down, shake, speak, roll over, leave it, and comes when called. Mention the word "walk," and she'll be ready in an instant. She is both crate trained and fully potty trained, making her an easy addition to a structured home. Stella loves comfort and affection. If you give her a blanket, she'll happily wrap herself up and settle in for cuddles. Belly rubs are one of her favorite things, and she's a true snuggle companion. Stella is wonderful with children and has never bitten anyone. She can be a little cautious around men and taller individuals at first, but she warms up quickly, especially when treats are involved. Women, in particular, tend to become her friends very quickly. One quirk that makes Stella uniquely herself is her love of collecting toys. She prefers to keep them all close and tends to hoard them rather than share, which is another reason she would do best as the only pet in the home. She also has a playful side that never fails to make us smile. Stella loves going on walks, responds immediately when called, and enjoys watching and chasing airplanes across the sky. We love Stella deeply and are committed to finding her a home where she can receive all the love, attention, and one-on-one companionship she deserves. She isn't being rehomed because she isn't a good dog—she truly is. We simply believe she will flourish in a home where she can be someone's one and only furry best friend.

Please contact Echo Dogs (adoptions@echodogs.org) for more information about this pet.Female - 8 months - 43 lbs. - Microchipped - Spayed - ILBIO Hello! My name is Cindy. My mom and 8 siblings were rescued from a kill shelter in December 2025. Mom had a DNA test done, and it showed that she was mostly Cattle Dog, Great Pyrenees, Shepherd and other mixes. Although we are mixed, and so cute, we were lucky to be saved. I am house trained and crate trained. I am a very good guest greeter. I do not run out the door when it is opened. I don’t jump or bark at people when they come over. My tail wags a mile a minute. Foster mom calls me Wiggle Butt.I do enjoy being around the other dogs in my foster home. I could be an only dog if you are home more often than not. I have not met any cats, so I do not know how I feel about them. I walk very good on a leash. I like going for car rides so I could definitely be a travel companion. I know a few commands and usually respond the first time they are given. I know inside, outside, sit, leave it, wait, easy, off, quiet and come. I am sure you can teach me a lot more.If you are looking for a nice, friendly dog and don’t care about the breed, I would make a great addition to your family. I really would love to have my own family. My fur is soft, white and I have brown spotted ears. I am absolutely adorable and smart too! Please contact Echo Dogs (adoptions@echodogs.org) for more information about this pet.Female • 6.5-Months • 43lbs • Microchipped • Spayed • OHHello! My name is Elena. I am a 6.5-month-old cuddle bug. I am house-trained and crate trained. Since I am young it is best to crate me when you cannot supervise me. When my Foster mom is home, she leaves the crate open and I go lay inside. I take a minute to warm up to new people. I might bark at first, but when I realize you are a friend, I want all the pets and attention you can give me.I currently live with two female dogs and get along very well with them. I have also met other dogs with no issues. I haven’t met any cats, so I don’t know how I feel about them. I like all toys, especially the ones that I can pull all the stuffing out of. I even know how to play fetch. I like going for rides in the car. I pull a little on the leash, but we can work on that. I know way too many commands to list. Foster mom says I am very smart and easy to train.I would like to find a home that already has a canine companion for me to play with. Although I don’t live with children in my foster home, I would be very good with them. We could play and they can teach me things. I could be an only dog as long as you are home with me more often than not. I am a very active girl and like lots of love and attention. I am a pretty well-rounded girl. Story
Izzy (formerly Ostentatia Wallace) is a gentle, thoughtful soul who has quietly mastered the art of being an excellent house companion. Thought to be around 7 years old, she is fully house trained, non-destructive, and respectful of her surroundings—no counter surfing, no table begging, and no mischief when left alone. She crates well (with just a short moment to settle) and is incredibly easy to live with, making her the kind of dog who quickly feels like she’s always belonged.Izzy is very attentive to her people though does need slow introductions to new folks and does best in a calmer house with no young kids. She enjoys being near her humans, soaking up affection and attention, and loves being handled and petted. Izzy would like to be the only pet in the home and soak up all the attention. She already knows “sit” and, with her intelligence and willingness to learn, she has so much potential to pick up more cues and confidence-building skills.Outdoors, Izzy enjoys exploring and taking in her surroundings at her own pace. She isn’t particularly toy-motivated or fetch-focused, preferring relaxed romps and sniffing adventures. On leash, she gets excited when she sees other dogs or people and can be vocal.Izzy is a truly good girl—steady, loving, and ready for a home that will continue to help her grow in confidence while appreciating the wonderful dog she already is.Interested in adopting this dog?Visit our website (http://www.SecondCityCanineRescue.org) to fill out an application and to find out where this dog may be shown this weekend. We love our dogs.
