Story
To help us make a great fit for you, and any of our dogs as well, please include information about yourself(Home, family, yard/fence, work hours, other pets...) and/or use our application at sparrowdogs.com. Those emails will get the quickest response, we do the best we can. We are doing the best we can to find the right home for each dog or cat, just need your help too! :) What a gorgeous, sleek, graceful and athletic little lady! Maddie is like a gazelle flitting around the yard, effortlessly bounding over obstacles(even smaller dogs!)and zooming past her little pals that would just love to keep up! We are guessing at her breeds, with a bit of experience and a couple apps to provide some possibilities we think Maddie could be a mix of Rat Terrier and Kelpie, perhaps Min pin?? And, after some googling we found out that that combination can be a deliberate mix due to the wonderful attributes of each breed. We are assuming Maddie was most likely and ooops litter, lol, but what a perfectly perfect little mutt she is!!(and proud of it) Maddie came from a crowded shelter that was going to have to make some tough decisions regarding their population. So sad, but so common. Even healthy, happy puppies like Maddie are at risk. So-we are more than happy to help out, be a little part of her journey to find her happily ever after. Maddie is around 5 months old, perhaps a little older than that. She is about 25 pounds, and has the happiest little wiggle butt! She is wonderful with the other dogs in her foster home, even the old crabby ones, lol. Maddie loves running and playing with Dylan, her new best pal. They have the same puppy energy, he tries to keep up with Maddie, but she always loops back to get in some playtime. As active as Maddie is, she is also calm in the house and will easily settle down on a blanket or bed and enjoy her time relaxing. She also seems to be housebroken. We are working with her younger pal, Dylan. They both go outside on the "go potty " command and will do their business. She has not had any accidents in the house. (yea!!) She will do well with an active family, another active dog or two would be great. She does well on a leash and is just the right size to pack up and go for some adventures...camping, hiking...? Maddie is full vetted and ready for her forever home. Her adoption fee is $375. Please email Kristine at joysparrows@gmail.com.

Story
Libby is sure a unique-looking young girl; how can anyone not love her huge ears!! She is thought to be an Australian Kelpie Mix (possibly with Bull Terrier). She weighs about 30 lbs. Her estimated date of birth is June 5th 2023. Libby is a typical puppy, very energetic and playful. She likes to jump and can sometimes forget herself and be a little too rough with other dogs. But….…she is young and needs to learn boundaries and manners in order to evolve into a wonder family member with a forever family she so deserves.. This sweet pup likes playing with other dogs; she’s great with dogs and would enjoy the companionship of another dog in the home. Most likely, a young or middle-aged adult dog would prefer his company much more so than a senior dog. An ideal family for Libby is one able to assimilate the enthusiasm and playfulness of a puppy into their lifestyle and is willing to commit the time to working with and training Libby to be her best self! A secure fenced yard is required; another younger or middle-aged pup in the family could also be advantageous. Libby is crate-trained and is working hard to improve her house manners (housebreaking). She is up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations, is on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Her spay is included in her adoption fee. For information about adding this adorable girl to your family please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895.

Story
I’m rehoming my dog, Melo (spelled M-E-L-O), and I’m looking for a loving, safe, pet-free home for him. Melo is a wonderful dog who’s great with people—friendly, affectionate, and even does well with strangers. I originally got him as a puppy with my ex, and when we had our child, Melo stayed with my ex while I became a full-time mom. A month ago, Melo came back to live with me. The challenge is that Melo has always had a tendency to run if he gets out, and it’s difficult to get him back. That issue hasn’t changed. Today, my young son accidentally opened the garage door and Melo ran out. My son tried to follow him, which is dangerous—especially because we live in an area surrounded by water. Melo also doesn’t do well around other animals, so he needs to be the only pet in the home. This isn’t an easy decision, but it’s what’s best for Melo and my family’s safety. I want to make sure he goes to someone who can give him structure, attention, and a secure environment.
