Story
Hi my name is Sally! I’m a 5-7 year old Kelpie mix who is eager to please my people! I am house broken, kennel trained, I know sit, down and no. I will also sit and wait for my food until given the okay if asked. I love to play with toys and to have plenty of bones to chew on. Even though I came from somewhere with no snow I have loved going outside in it and even roll around. Snow in my opinion is pretty cool!I do well with other dogs, I can be a bit sassy however. I like to let them know by growling if I feel they are getting too close to my favorite toys, bones or people. But I also growl when I want to play, I’m pretty harmless just want to let people know I’m here and paying attention. I’m not sure about cats as I haven’t been around them so that would have to be an introduction if you have a kitty fur friend too. When my foster family is home I prefer to be close to one of them. My foster mom and dad tell me I’m the sweetest girl ever and someone would be lucky to have me. If you are looking for a want to be lap dog, a super loyal companion, someone to give belly rubs to and a billion kisses a day I may just be the one you’ve been looking for.All adoptions are $300 per dog for puppies under 1 year, $250 for adults 1 - 9 years old and $150 for senior dogs which include spay/neuter, micro-chipped and up-to-date on required shots. Senior dogs, at our discretion, are adopted out at $150 per dog because we know they will have less time with your family and may eventually have more needs as they get older. But we feel these dogs deserve to live out the rest of their lives as part of a loving family.

Story
Fostered in Council Bluffs Name- Nutmeg Age- 7 months Breed- Kelpie mix What was your life like before NDCB/Where did you come from? I was found as a stray in South Sioux City. The animal shelter called the sweet people at the Rescue and asked them to take me so I wouldn’t be euthanized. Who is your main caretaker/favorite person now? Foster mom and dad. Are you good with kids? What age ranges?my foster home had a two year old. Kids are fun as long as they play with me! I am a high energy breed so tiny tots might be a little overwhelmed by my enthusiastic greetings but I never mean any harm. Are you good with other dogs? Be VERY specific here I’m great I love to play. Sometimes I get a little rough and need to be told to chill so I would probably be a little too much for senior dogs. But playful dogs…I am ALL IN!!! Are you good with cats? Well., I am a herding/farm breed so cats are REAL fun to chase. I probably shouldn’t be in a home with cats unless you are super dog savvy and can train me to leave them alone. As it stands, I will absolutely chase a furry kitty in the home and I might attempt to get the squeaker out 😬😬 Are you housebroken? I am doing so well in Foster! I have only had one accident inside the home and now my foster siblings have showed me to ring bells when I wanna go outside. It’s pretty cool! What is your current potty routine? I ring bells at my foster home to go outside! Do you like car rides? Yes! I love to ride! I hop right in any car however I should be seatbelted in because sometimes I try and sit in your lap while you’re driving. How was I supposed to know Mom was gonna freak out about that🤷🏻‍♀️ I just wanted to cuddle, her screaming was really unnecessary. Do you like walks? How are you on a leash? What’s a leash? I’m still trying to learn. Do you like toys? What is your favorite toy? Squeaky toys are the very best! But I also like hooves Do you know any commands/tricks? Not yet but will you teach me? I’m super smart and eager to learn. How are your house manners? I’m a bit of a bull in a china shop. I bounce and run and play but I also snuggle. Describe your personality- as I just said I Am a lot. But with some training and love I would be perfect Describe your perfect home-I definitely need a fur sibling who can match my energy. I love to play and love all dogs. I would love a home with an active family member. I would be a great running partner or hiking buddy! I currently sleep in bed with my foster parents and would love to continue that. I’m not a bed hog. I go right to the bottom of the bed and go to sleep.

Say hello to Toby (b. 8/2015) an Australian Kelpie x Belgian Shepherd mix, who is looking for his FURever home! This shy guy is a complete ladies' man and does better around women more so than men. Toby requires a slow introduction to new people as he gets very shy. He would shine brightest in a home where he can be the center of attention so no kids or other pets, please. Once Toby gets to know you he is the biggest cuddler there is and just wants to love on his human. So ladies' who is ready for their night in shining fur? Appy to adopt Toby today!
