Story
Georgey (or in Spanish, Gorge) is an 11-month-old pup that weighs approximately 32 lbs. While we do not know who his parents are, we believe he is Australian kelpie mixed with lab or catahoula. Either way, he is definitely adorable and very petite. We do think he is full grown as he has not grown since we got him. He has been in foster care since March 2025 - He was born on a ranch in south Texas, where a stray dog had puppies at. Only Gorge and his brother, Johnny, were surrendered though. We don’t know what happened to the other puppies or the parents. This awesome boy absolutely loves other dogs; big and small. He is currently being fostered in a sanctuary in south Texas, along the Texas/Mexico border. This amazing sanctuary is only a short term stop for this fur-baby until their forever home is found. Gorge is a goofy boy – he is always willing to try something first and would be considered the “class clown” of the group. He is a pleaser and loves being accepted by the other dogs. He is more submissive than most. Gorge loves his toys and playing around the yard. There is nothing he does not like doing. He is all around a very relaxed and easy going boy that would fit almost all types of households. He loves being around his people and will follow you around, trying to please you too. Gorge gets a little jealous when other dogs are out playing and he is in kennel. He will make very sad whimpering sounds in hopes to get let out, and usually it works! Gorge loves his toys so much that he decides it’s much better to have 20 pieces of one toy than just one toy! Tough toys are definitely a must for young Gorgey. He has met kitties and he has no issues with them! He would live very happy with other dogs and kitties in the home. Gorge is so friendly that he loves kids, strangers and really, any human! Gorge would love a home that has another dog or dogs, where he can play, have a kiddo pool full of water to lay in and go on walks around the neighborhood to explore and see new things. He would be truly great for most types of households. This animal is fixed (spayed/neutered), heart worm positive (they have received the 30-day course of antibiotics and need to stay on heart worm prevention for 12-16 months and be retested then), current on age-appropriate vaccinations, current on flea/tick and heart worm prevention, microchipped, current on de-wormer, and will receive a clean bill of health from a licensed veterinarian prior to transport. PLEASE READ BELOW: To apply to adopt you can go to our website at: www.pawsitive-Impact-animal-rescue.org This animal is currently located in Texas, but we do NOT adopt animals out in Texas due to the hundreds of animals being euthanized here daily. Story
Our old, perfect, classy lady Daisy. Daisy is a 7-year-old mix who weighs approximately 40 lbs and is the sweetest girl. You wouldn’t know she was 7 years old, as she is a puppy by heart. With Daisy you get a cuddling, loving older dog demeanor with the playfulness and happiness of a puppy. And almost no training necessary! Daisy is house and crate trained. Daisy gets along great with other dogs and would do wonderful in a home with another dog to keep her company. She absolutely loves people and is the first one to greet anyone that is coming through the door or gate. Daisy was found roaming the streets of south Texas by Mexico; She was super skinny and you could just see the defeated look in her face. Thankfully, a good Samaritan saw her and couldn’t just turn away from her. She has been in the care of a sanctuary for 6 months now. She is a very relaxed dog. She just wants to lay out in the sun, play a little bit, relax and just hang out. Daisy would do great in a home that is a bit more relaxed and wants a dog that is very casual but VERY loving. She does great on car rides! Her favorite thing to eat are hot dogs. The foster says one of her favorite things about Daisy is that she doesn’t destroy toys, so all toys survive around Daisy, SO FAR. She doesn’t really know commands, but she loves to follow you around, and just wants to find her perfect humans. Please consider giving old lady Daisy a chance at her forever home. Daisy is fixed (spayed/neutered), heart worm positive (they have received the 30-day course of antibiotics and need to stay on heart worm prevention for 12-16 months and be retested then), current on age-appropriate vaccinations, current on flea/tick and heart worm prevention, microchipped, current on de-wormer, and will receive a clean bill of health from a licensed veterinarian prior to transport. Story
Bella 🐾 Meet Bella! 🐾 Bella is a 5–6 month old pup with a heart full of love and a personality that’s equal parts playful and cuddly. 💕 ✨ Fun Facts About Bella: 1. Potty trained — no accidents since day one! 🚽👏 2. The biggest cuddle bug 🛋️ 3. Loves car rides (as long as she can touch you) 🚗❤️ 4. Super playful, floppy, and full of puppy energy 🎾 5. Smart girl who already knows “sit” 🐾 Bella’s favorite things? Sunbathing after potty breaks 🌞, flopping down leash and all, and “talking” at her reflection with the cutest little howl-growl combo. 🐶 She’s had a tough start to life and can be timid with men and kids, but she is never aggressive. She does great hanging out in a bathroom with her bed and toys, but a crate makes her very anxious. She’s working hard on puppy manners like “sit before pets” and “sit before food,” and she takes direction well. Bella is both a couch potato and a playmate — she loves walks, playtime, and then snuggling close. She just wants to be loved, reassured, and never left behind again. 💙 🏡 Ideal Home: Bella would thrive in a home where she can be the center of attention and get plenty of affection, exercise, and continued training. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who’ll make you laugh, keep you company, and love you endlessly, Bella is your girl. 🥰 If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at https://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/forms PLEASE MAKE NOTE- OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN ALABAMA (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED), OUR DOGS TRANSPORT TO THEIR NEW FAMILIES IN RHODE ISLAND AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED. Story
Clea: Looking for a Patient Heart and a Forever Home If resilience had a face, it would look a lot like Clea. This beautiful young girl has already endured more than any dog ever should. She was found after being dumped, severely underweight, dehydrated, and covered in fleas. Despite her difficult start, Clea never gave up, and neither did the people who rescued her.The moment she was brought to safety, we placed her into a loving foster home where she could begin to heal, learn to trust, and finally experience what it means to be cared for. Clea is still discovering that the world can be a safe and wonderful place. She can be shy when meeting new people and facing new situations, but once she warms up and learns to trust you, you'll see the sweet, loving girl hiding behind those cautious eyes. The bond you'll build with Clea won't happen overnight, but it will be incredibly special and worth every moment of patience. We believe Clea would thrive in a quieter, calmer home. A confident, gentle dog sibling would be a huge bonus, as another dog can help show her the ropes and teach her that life isn't so scary after all. She enjoys following the lead of calm canine friends and gains confidence from their presence.Because she is sensitive and still learning about the world, we recommend a home with older children who can respect her need for space and help create a peaceful environment where she can truly relax and flourish.Clea will also benefit from continued socialization and training. The wonderful news? She's incredibly smart! With patience, positive reinforcement, and encouragement, we have no doubt she'll blossom into an amazing companion. This girl wants to learn, wants to trust, and wants to belong. What Clea needs most is someone willing to give her three very important things:TimePatienceLots of love and TLCWe see the incredible potential in Clea every day. Beneath her uncertainty is a loyal, loving, and beautiful soul just waiting for the chance to shine. All she needs is a family willing to believe in her.Could you be the one to show Clea that her difficult past does not define her future?Apply today and give Clea the forever home she deserves. Together, let's write the happy ending this sweet girl has been waiting for. The best things in life are worth waiting for, and Clea is one of them.If interested in Clea, please apply online: ADOPTION APPLICATION or email us at: Info.FetchingHeartsRescue@gmail.com.Unless otherwise indicated, all dogs adopted through Fetching Hearts have received the following before being available for adoption:Thorough veterinary examination. All routine annual vaccinations, includingRabies, DHLPPBordetella (Kennel Cough)Heartworm TestFecal Test, DewormingMicrochipFlea and Tick PreventionHeartworm Prevention.Spay/NeuterAll dogs are quarantined for two weeks outside of the shelter (puppies four weeks) to ensure they don't break with disease.VETTING NOTE: Fetching Hearts Rescue completely vets our dogs thoroughly to the best of our knowledge based on communication with our Southern Vets. Story
🐾 Meet Your New Best Friend: The Smart, Sweet, and Loyal Companion You’ve Been Waiting For! Beno is learning to navigate in a whole new world now that he is not living the apartment life, the one he has ever known til now. He wants you to know he is full of love and devotion, if you’ll promise to show him he can trust you. Will you be his bestest friend? He knows he can be yours. 🌟 Why You’ll Fall in Love: Beno is a medium sized, energetic dog with the softest ears, always ready to show you how smart he is, and would probably thrive as an agility dog once he feels confident and secure in his new home. He is housebroken, improving his crate training, and only chews his toys, which he likes to bring to show to you or to get you to throw them for him. He will ask adorably and politely if he can sit on the couch with you, or sleep next to you. He loves to be close, and will fall asleep under your feet while at your desk. He’s always eager to meet new dog friends with no drama. 🏡 His Perfect Match: An experienced or eager owner willing to patiently train him to be less reactive to new people and situations; someone who understands that he would like time to feel safe in his new home before starting a new social life. He is a fast learner, and eager to please, and hopes you’ll understand if he gets overstimulated. He is a bit of a "velcro dog" right now, which makes his recall great but also means he loves his humans deeply. Because of this, he does experience some separation anxiety. His foster family is actively working on crate training and solo time, but he will thrive best in an active household where people are home more often than not. Leash Manners: he is so investigative that he hasn’t gotten the hang of loose-leash walking yet, but he is actively working with a trainer on this. He can get overstimulated on busy trails, but as his confidence and sense of security increases, he will be a wonderful adventure companion. His recall is excellent, and is always nearby if off leash at his foster’s house. Kids: Unknown Cats: Beno will ignore cats if they ignore him. He has a respect for them, but will vocally defend himself against them if provoked. Farm animals: Beno is currently being fostered on a farm, and does not harm chickens or horses. But he might be willing to give a chase occasionally. This sweet boy has so much love to give and is going to make an incredible addition to a family ready to give him the time, reassurance, and activity he craves. Ready to meet your new shadow? Contact us today to learn more or to set up a meet-and-greet! If you are interested in finding out more about Beno, please fill out an adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BRO/Dog Beno is being fostered in Berlin, MA. The adoption fee is $500. Like Broken Tail Rescue on Facebook!. Follow Broken Tail Rescue on Instagram! Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
