Story
This little 30 lb, 1-year-old girl is named Penny, and she is one very lucky penny indeed to have been rescued! Her foster family refers to her as "Sweet P." As she has been warming up in a new foster home, her personality is really starting to shine through despite what she has gone through in the past. Penny was rescued from a situation in a rural area overcrowded with dogs where there isn't enough food for them to eat. She had lived with dozens of cats before. Penny has closed that account of her life and is ready to invest in a new loving home. Penny is house trained, is doing well with crate training, is super well-behaved, and an obedient pup. She does walk great on the leash, but it may take a bit of coaxing to actually get the leash on her. Penny is a shy girl, but she is very sweet. She is timid around men, new people, and loud noises but has not shown any aggression.  Due to this, Penny should be in a home with no children or older, considerate, gentle children only. While she does not seem interested in toys much, give her a stick from the yard and she is after it! It's the simple things after all. She gets the zoomies, loves pets to her ears, tummy, and butt scratches, and enjoys a long walk. One thing about Penny is she does not seem to be a big fan of stairs, though, her foster family is working on this with her. Penny is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $415. While pennies usually are not worth much, this Penny will make you rich beyond measure! Deposit this darling into your heart and home by applying for PENNY SCAS at www.ehrdogs.org. June 6, 2026, 2:16 pm

Story
Some dogs come into rescue scared, shut down, or uncertain. And then there are dogs like Ralphie… the ones who somehow still choose love. This beautiful boy was found wandering as a stray in a rural Tennessee county — underweight, homeless, and with every reason in the world not to trust people. But from the moment he was safe, Ralphie did the exact opposite. He leaned in. He loved harder. He quietly showed everyone around him what a truly special soul looks like. At only 10 months old, this Min Pin/Kelpie mix already carries the heart of an old friend. The kind of dog who watches your face carefully, stays close without asking for anything, and seems to understand emotions in a way that almost doesn’t feel possible. Ralphie is the dog who would sit beside you through heartbreak, grief, loneliness, or hard days without ever leaving your side. He has the heart of a therapist wrapped inside the body of a young, goofy, loving pup. And despite whatever his past looked like, Ralphie has blossomed almost overnight in foster care. In just one week, he learned the doggie door, crate training, leash walking, house manners, and how to trust that kindness was finally here to stay. He wants so badly to be a “good boy,” and honestly… he already is. Ralphie currently weighs about 27 pounds and will likely fill out to around 30 pounds as an adult. He is wonderful with dogs, cats, chickens, kids, and every person he meets. No drama. No aggression. No chaos. Just a sweet, grateful dog who wants a family to love with his whole heart. Some dogs are pets. Some dogs are companions. And then once in a while, a dog like Ralphie comes along — a soul dog. The kind you remember forever. If you think you might be the person meant for Ralphie, please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com and tell us where you live so we can send you an adoption application. Please share. Somewhere out there is the family whose life is about to change because of this boy. ❤️   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJune 6, 2026, 11:18 am

Story
Meet Margie aka Large Marge. At around 6 years old and currently rocking 37.5 pounds, she’s on a mission to get down to her goal weight of about 27… but she’s not letting a few extra pounds slow her roll. This girl is equal parts adventure buddy and professional couch potato. She’s always ready for a walk, some playtime, or a little outing but don’t worry, she fully believes in balance and will happily clock in for a long shift of lounging, being brushed, and supervising you from the couch. Marge and her foster family are working on her summer body, but she’d like it noted that she already is a body ready for summer. Confidence? 10/10. Effort? In progress. Snacks? She’s assuming yes. If you’re looking for a fun, loving pup with a big personality (and currently a slightly bigger waistline), Margie is your girl. Apply at Realdogrescue.org/adopt

Story
Chico is a 1-year-old male mix that weighs about 50 lbs and is looking for his adventure buddy/family to go through life with! Chico was found roaming around a neighborhood along the Texas/Mexico border. Unfortunately, there are thousands of strays in this area, and it is very normal to have dogs hanging out on the corners, looking for scraps, water and just some place to lay down. A good Samaritan noticed Chico (and a few other dogs) close to her home just roaming around for a couple weeks, and decided she wanted to help them. Matilda and Chico are 2 of the many dogs our rescue has stepped up to help her with. Chico was hanging around the area for about 2-3 months before she took him in in early December of 2025, when it was just too cold for him to be out there. Chico was a little shy at first, but it didn’t take him long to show his big personality. He is an active boy that loves to play and romp around the yard. He loves to stretch his legs and chase the other dogs around the yard. Chico needs a more active home, one that will provide plenty of exercise. Not only is Chico active, but he is also very smart and would do best with activity games to work with (where he must look for his treats or similar) to give him some challenges. He loves playing with toys, especially stuffed ones where he can dig the squeaker out and squeak it until it can squeak no more. The next best thing is making sure the cotton is all out of the toy and leaving it everywhere for the foster to pick up, this is definitely in his top 5 favorite things. He enjoys bones and balls also. Really anything that will keep him busy and enjoying himself. He is mostly crate trained unless he is left alone too long, then he does have an accident, but not on purpose. Chico is great with children but due to his activity level, we do recommend slightly older children because he is very playful and known to jump sometimes when he gets his happy zoomies. He loves his walks and going exploring! He is very curious and always up to see new things. As you can see in the video, Chico had no problems with having a bath done and if anything, he is probably one of the better-behaved dogs we have seen getting a bath! If you’re looking for a very smart, curious, energetic, playful, and loving adult dog that just needs a family to call his forever one, please consider Chico. Chico will be neutered, he is current on age-appropriate vaccinations including parvo/distemper, bordatella and the rabies vaccine. He is heart worm negative, dewormed, microchipped, current on flea/tick and heart worm prevention, and will receive a clean bill of health from a veterinarian prior to adoption/transport. To apply to adopt you can go to our website at: www.pawsitive-Impact-animal-rescue.org This animal is currently located in Texas, but we do NOT adopt animals out in Texas due to the hundreds of animals being euthanized here daily. We do adopt in Central US and the East Coast. The adoption fee listed INCLUDES transport from Texas to the location where this animal is posted in. Transport goes to the following locations every 2-3 weeks Albany, NY Wells and Brattleboro, VT Willington, Enfield, New Haven and Dayville, CT Port Chester, NY Dayon and Akron, OH Grove City and Bloomsburg, PA Ridgefield and Mt Laurel, NJ White Marsh and Falls Church, MD We have happily adopted hundreds of animals this way (long distance), and we do our best to make sure the animal you are applying for is best fit for your home.

Story
Darci is a cute little girl looking for her forever home. She is 40 lbs and approx 20 months old. She loves to run and stretch her long legs. She is working on walking on a leash and is learning quickly. She is a very smart girl. Darci gets along well with other dogs. She would make a great addition to any family. Taking her on walks, jogs, or hikes would be right up her alley. We are working with her on crate training and housetraining. She is catching on quickly. She is such a pretty little girl who is the perfect size companion. Darci is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. All dogs 6 month + receive a Proheart 6 injection at the time of their heartworm test. This provides heartworm prevention for 6 months from the time of that injection. This dog has tested negative for heartworms. The adoption fee is $450 if your adoption is prepaid and final before your dog's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged for dogs that are adopted at an event or foster home. This additional fee is necessary to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you!
