Mr. Tux is a handsome, 1-year-old, 50 lb loyal sweetheart. He was saved at the literal 11th hour by Eleventh Hour Rescue. Down south in Georgia, this is the daily reality for so many dogs—if you aren’t settling well in the kennel environment, you are often the first to go. He was scheduled to be euthanized through no fault of his own, simply because the shelter was overcrowded. The kennel environment was taking a toll on him; he was losing weight, stressed, and clearly unhappy… but never once showed an ounce of aggression. We heard his story and knew we had to step in. Now, Mr. Tux is safe here in NJ and getting the second chance he so deserves. Mr. Tux is an absolute sweetheart and incredibly obedient and intelligent; already well-versed in his commands knowing sit, paw, stay, down, and "no." He loves people, gets along great with other dogs, and even showed polite curiosity toward cats during a day out with a volunteer (though he hasn’t lived with them yet). While well-meaning and affectionate, Mr. Tux is a strong guy and does not seem to be aware of his size and also loves to give hugs. Because of this, we recommend a household with only adults or older children only. He is crate-trained and house-trained and will even alert you with a noseboop to the door handle or a bark if he needs to go outdoors. He enjoys all the good things in life—cuddling, sunbathing, playing with toys, and heading out on adventures. He can be energetic so we do recommend a family who has a fenced in yard so he has the perfect place to burn off energy. Though by the end of the day, he's ready to stretch out and take up his fair share of the couch while lounging on your lap! 🌟 Meet Mr. Bi: The Sassy, Sweet, Wheelchair-Wielding Wonder! 🌟 Hey, world! I’m Mr. Bi (that’s bee—not bi, don’t get any funny ideas!). I’m a 5-year-old paralyzed pup originally from Vietnam. My life started in a bit of a pickle, but I’m here to tell you that I’m one resilient, sassy dog who doesn’t know the meaning of “giving up.” 👑 Let’s talk about my journey: I was hit by a car in Vietnam, then sent to the U.S. for treatment. Sadly, the person I was sent to decided to leave me in a dark, rat-infested basement. 🐀 They called themselves a rescuer, but I call it “the worst AirBnB ever.” It was rough—super rough—and for months, I was locked in a crate and left to suffer. But hey, it only made me stronger. 💪 Fast forward to August 31, 2021—cue dramatic rescue music. With some strategic planning (and a whole lot of sass), I was finally freed from that nightmare. I had lost muscle tone, had some rat bites, and I was really thin—like, "please feed me, I look like a skeleton" thin. But now? Now I’m thriving. I’ve gained 9 pounds, built up my strength, and I’m showing off my wheelchair like it’s my personal limo. 🛺 So, what’s life like with me? I’m a paralyzed dog, yes, but I’m far from helpless. I LOVE to swim to build my strength (no big deal, I’m basically a doggie Olympian). I go for walks in my wheelchair, and let me tell you, I look fabulous doing it. I love being brushed, and I’ll take all the cuddles you’ve got. ❤️ BUT, here’s the fun part: I’m also a little mischief-maker. I’ve got a thing for sweatpants—don’t wear them around me unless you’re okay with me trying to pull them down. It’s hilarious, and I think you’ll agree once you see it. 😜 Despite everything, I’ve got a big, bold personality and a zest for life. I love people, kids, dogs, and cats (even though I’m not shy about letting you know what I want). I’ve been through a lot, but I’m finally ready for my forever home. 🏡💕 I flew all the way here for a better life—NOT to die. And trust me, I’m not just surviving—I’m living my best life.
