Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi friends! My name is Dochi.  I’m right around 2 years old and I’m full grown at 41 perfect pounds.  I appear to be a kelpie mix, but that’s just my best guess.  I’m a very sweet, fun-loving girl! I’’ve been in my foster home for a couple of months now and I’ve had a really amazing time getting acquainted with the best things in life. My favorite things so far are car rides, walks, toys and scratches from nice people.  Truthfully, life with a foster family is pretty amazing, but I still have a lot I want to learn.  Maybe YOU can teach me! I’m really easy to train.  My foster mom says I’m a quick study! I don’t bark or jump and I’m quiet in my crate. I’m 99% potty-trained as long as you keep me on a schedule.  Like any young dog, I love to run and play! Wrestling with my foster brother is super fun! I do need some kind of exercise daily, especially in the morning.  This helps me feel calmer throughout the day.  I walk in the neighborhood every morning and do okay on the leash, but I do pull some. If you spend a little time showing me what to do, I’ll be a pro! Sometimes I feel a little shy around new people and situations. A girl has to be cautious! It doesn’t take me long to warm up, but I do need a moment and then it’s all good!  I’m looking for a home without cats. I would love a doggy sibling, but I don’t *have* to have one, as long as I have you!  Something else you should know about me, I’m a velcro-kind of dog and want to be your constant companion. I haven’t been around kids much, but I’m a sweet girl with a great temperament. We think nice kids who are 12 or so are probably a great match for me, but of course it always depends on the family! If you think we’d be a good fit, apply to meet me at https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication.  I can’t wait to meet you!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 18, 2025, 4:14 pm

Story
Let me introduce you to the warm soul we call George, He has a comforting presence. George can come off a little reserved at first, but that’s just because he’s not the type to push for attention. He’s the quiet kind—like a best friend who’s always there, steady and grounding. George has all the traits of a loyal, loving dog and he is ready to find himself at home. What stands out most about George is how easy his company is. He’s slow and steady across the board—whether he’s meeting new people, walking on leash, hanging with other dogs, or encountering a cat.. Based on his look and temperament, we think he may be a Kelpie/Shepherd mix, estimated to be around 4 years old, and he weighs 50 lbs. As with any rescue, we can’t say with total certainty on age or breed, but he is fully-grown size so we can testify to how perfectly midsize he is. George is so fortunate and is being fostered in a loving home while he waits for his adoption day and this not only gives us a front-row account to hi personality but he also gets to learn and master the best house manners while he waits. His foster has praised George for how well he rides in the car- laying in the back peacefully, only perking up once they have arrived. He is also both house and crate trained! We loooove that! George lives with both cats and dogs in his foster home and he gets along well with them all. We spent an afternoon with George outside of his foster home to get a feel of his play style and approach to new dogs along with observing him meet a new cat. The first thing that jumped out was just how politely George meets new dogs on-leash. He showed a little excitement when he saw the first dog, it was contained but obvious, he was happy to meet a possible playmate. With each additional dog the approach was the same, neutral and calm. Although he never found the perfect playmate to really let loose, he was easy company and is dog-friendly. The most natural pairing was with a female, similar age to him, with a sense of confidence and bouts of playfullness. If going into a home with another dog, that would be almost exactly the type of dog he would be best with. Dogs like George, who come across as reserved, are often naturally independent, confident and content with their own company. Another quality we love! Even though we know George lives with cats we love to see a dog in a new environment, meeting a new cat to get a grasp on what that could look like once he is arriving in a new home. He was introduced on leash and he was curious but respectful and calm. As the cat got more animated and jumpy playing with a toy, George definitely thought it was an invitation to play. He obviously can live peacefully with cats but we all know, cat personalities are a variable. If joining a house with a cat(s), it would be best if they were dog savvy. He will respect a swat and may need one to mind a boundary. George would do great in a home with a yard, if for no other reason than his simple joy of laying in the shade on a patch of green grass. It is heaven to watch! He has great basic leash skills with a nice pace but a hectic, busy environment might throw off his vibes. Basically, the busy environment of elevators and lobby are not for him. He could do it, but we can see he isn’t much of a busy city guy. The same goes for family-life, he could do it but he has really been spoiled by a foster home with the occasional 20 something year old kid coming by to do laundry. In other words, empty-nester? Not with George! He is ready to fill your time with good company! Invite this boy home to peaceful place and a patch of grass, with a doggie friend and a cool cat and George will be there to take it all in—his pace and by your side! If you’ve got room in your life for a gentle heart and a quiet companion, George is ready to bring calm, sweetness, and unwavering loyalty into your world. Questions? We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.  The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs. It doesn’t stop there! Story
Meet Aero! Aero is the sweetest and just wants to be wherever you are. He does well on the leash and is so smart he is always eager to please and learn. He is very food motivated. Aero seems to be an Australian Kelpie mix at only 30 lbs he is the perfect cuddle size. Because of his breed he is intelligent and needs constant stimulation and attention. I think Aero would do best in a home where he has the ability to go in and out of a fenced yard when he pleases. He has met other dogs and just wants to play. I’m sure he would love a dog friend as well. He needs toys that will keep him busy and entertained throughout the day. He sits next to the front door when he needs to potty. He loves women more than men. He will follow me everywhere. My husband on the other hand he is a little timid and unsure. It just takes some time for him to warm and and give cuddles confidently. Aero needs a human that will give him the time and attention he needs and deserves.

Story
Milly is a Mini Red Tri Australian Shepherd. We acquired her from a friend who bought her brother in a litter. She is potty trained, and crate trained. Milly is trained to follow you off leash on a hike or a run. She can also follow basic commands. She has been on many trail runs and fishing trips. She's great at playing fetch and loves being outside. Milly will truly be right by your side like a best friend when she warms up to you and get's to know you. She is instinctually a very anxious and nervous dog. Her ideal situation would be a family with no young kids or other dogs or animals. Patience is key when getting to know her. Additionally, a yard would be helpful for her to run around daily. We are saddened to have to make this decision as she has shown a pattern of aggressive behavior towards our 2-year-old son. We have weighed our options and decided she needs a different environment to thrive.
