Story
This is going to sound wild but…do you love the German shepherd type? And elves? Have you ever wanted your very own Christmas elf in the form of a dog? Bam! Your wish has come true! Meet Lollipop! Again, going to sound wild but this girl is about the most elfin version of a German shepherd (size wise) with a Santa’s Helper elf-like joy, goodness, and the most contagious happiness I have ever experienced.
Her name is Lollipop, which in itself captures something childlike and innocent and often in rescue a name is given before a dog is known, but whoever named her could see it. Estimated to be 1.5 years old and weighing 36 lbs she is fully-grown and perfectly petite and is magic in motion when it comes to literally everything! From kids to dogs twice her size that are still learning life after being a “street-dog,” she can handle it, with grace, a gentle confidence and some fun. Lollipop quickly showed our rescue crew her “magic-touch” and immediately became a go-to for helping freshly rescued dogs comfortable in a new environment. Her magic is in creating a sense of comfort. With dogs that want to play, she can bounce and chase with the best of them. With the timid and nervous, she will sit under a tree with them, peaceful and patient. It may sound like I am trying to paint a picture of a dog that sounds too good to be true, but these same qualities extend to people. Lollipop was the first dog on the list of staff nominations for rescue meets retirement, a time where a rescue dog is invited into a nursing home. We joked that we have never more unanimously agreed on the dog that would be going than we did with Lollipop. Her delicate frame, calming presence, and contagious joy did not disappoint and talks were had about her being adopted by the facility or a director, so she could do that everyday. Watching dogs find their light because of her, alongside people just the same, is the truest testament of her “magic.” Needless to say, she is great with kids, if that even needs to be said. Elves were born to serve kids, this is a given.
Next on the list of Lollipop’s good qualities- she is great with cats! We will always acknowledge that cats are a variable in themselves but Lollipop sure seems to understand the nature of cats, being available for nuzzle-love and play, just as much as she will give space to a cat who is not so sure about dogs. Again- magic! If you ask me and the people who know her its the best way to express why she stands out.
Lollipop quickly became a volunteer favorite, going on enough doggie-day-outs that we had to encourage volunteers to take other dogs for pup-cups and walks in the park. The reason she is a favorite? She is great in the car, easy company, and a joy to be around. Lollipop is the dog that volunteers say “thank you for letting me take her out today!” A moment we normally thank them for taking time out of their day for a rescue dog in waiting.
Knowing Lollipop personally and having been on the receiving end of her love, I know, if her eyes caught yours, it is for good reason. She is amazing and you can see it! If any part of you is in love or a spark has been lit, reach out or apply!

https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.
Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!
Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.
Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.
While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs.
It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:

Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
