Let’s address the elephant in the room, shall we?Meet Rex, a very deserving boy in need of a forever home.  Rex was rescued and safely trapped by one of our volunteers after surviving days wandering dangerously near traffic. Since coming into rescue, we’ve made sure he received everything he needed — neuter, vaccinations, heartworm test, deworming, and microchip. Now let’s be honest: while Rex may not be a Labrador, he still deserves the same chance at love, safety, and a family of his own. Right now, he is taking up space desperately needed for incoming Labradors, and we truly need help finding him the perfect home. Rex is a sweet, mellow guy who knows several commands, takes treats gently, appears housebroken, and just wants someone to finally choose him. His story: REX NEEDS A HERO — PLEASE READ & SHARE Rex is alive today by pure luck. For days, this sweet boy wandered in the middle of the road on Sample–Pittman Hill in Clovis… cars flying past him, coming within inches of his life. Story
Nacho is a 10-month-old male Australian Shepherd originally acquired from a private seller. He is intelligent, affectionate, energetic, playful, crate trained, potty trained and has a strong obedience foundation including sit, down, stay, place, recall, loose-leash walking, and heel work. He loves walks, hiking, and being active. Due to changes in my schedule, I’m looking for an active, responsible home that can give him the time and structure he needs. Experience with Aussies or other active breeds is preferred. He is still an adolescent and needs supervision when left alone. Nacho is currently intact and has not been trained on livestock.

Story
Shylow came to us in September as a stray - completely emaciated, dehydrated, and terrified of people. We weren't planning to take in a dog, but we couldn't just leave him like that.Over the past year we got him healthy, neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. We invested in professional training and put in a lot of daily work with him. He's made a complete transformation. He's around 2 years old, blue merle Australian Shepherd with striking blue eyes. He's fully deaf, but he knows his basic hand signals and responds well to them. He loves other dogs he's been properly introduced to, has that classic Aussie herding energy (he will try to herd you), and he's just a sweet, loyal dog who wants to be around people. He's been doing great with regular walks and doesn't need much more than that - he's not high maintenance, he just wants to be loved and included. He's been living in an outdoor kennel and he deserves a real home. We're happy to have you come meet him, or to bring him to you.

Story
Hello, I’m Hogan! 🐕💙 I’m a handsome 8-year-old, 81-pound Australian Shepherd/Husky mix with a striking brown and white coat and plenty of love left to give. My breed is our best guess based on looks, so we can’t know for sure what wonderful mix I really am! I’m neutered, leash trained, and I even know how to sit. 🎓🐾 I’m an affectionate, energetic guy who would love a person to share walks, hikes, outdoor adventures, and plenty of quality time with. 🥾🌲❤️ I was very loved by my previous family, and they had so many wonderful things to say about me. 🥹💕 In fact, they felt I was perfect in every way except for one thing: children make me very nervous. I’m unsure and uncomfortable around kids, so I’m looking for an adult home without children where I can feel safe, relaxed, and understood. I’d also do best in a home without cats. And here’s a pretty great bonus: in my previous home, I had a doggie door and had it mastered! 🚪🐾 When I needed to do my business, I knew to head right outside. What a smart boy! ⭐ Of course, I may need a little time to learn the routine in a brand-new home, but I already have some great experience under my belt. At 8 years old, I’m past all that puppy nonsense, but don’t mistake that for being ready for the rocking chair! 😂 I still have energy for adventures and would be thrilled to have a favorite human who enjoys getting out and exploring. Then, when the adventure is over, we can enjoy the best part — being together. 🐾❤️ If you have a quieter, kid-free home and you’ve been looking for a big, handsome adventure buddy with some life experience under his belt, come meet me. I’m Hogan, and I’m ready for my next chapter. 🥾🐕🌲💕

Meet Your Potential New Best Friend! This pet is participating in the Central California SPCA Rehoming Program and is currently living with its owner not at the Central California SPCA.If you think this pet could be a great fit for your family, please review the pet`s profile carefully and contact the owner directly to ask questions or arrange a meet-and-greet.Owner Contact InformationPhone: 559-776-5618Email: shauna.mills87@gmail.comOwner Information about the pet : We took this sweet boy back from a family we had homed him with previously. They recently had a baby, and unfortunately, he and their other dog weren’t getting along the way they had hoped. With all the changes and stress that comes with a new baby, they made the difficult decision to give him back so we could find him a better fit.Since we’ve had him back, he somewhat gets along with my daughter’s dog, but honestly, I feel like he would really thrive as an only dog. He loves his people, loves his toys, and especially loves his ball. ?? He is very sweet with people and would do best with an older child or kids who understand how to treat animals and give them space when needed. He has some manners and basic training, but he could definitely benefit from someone who has the time and patience to continue working with him. He’s a good boy and has so much love to give. I think with the right person and a little consistency, he could really thrive.Unfortunately, I’ve had some unexpected and unfortunate things happen in my own life, and I’m no longer able to give him the time and attention he deserves. I’ve found that he’s spending more time in his crate than I’m comfortable with, and I hate knowing that I’m not able to give him the life he deserves right now. This is not an easy decision for me, but I know finding him the right home is the best thing I can do for him.I’m really hoping to find someone who will love him, be patient with him, play ball with him, and give him the time and attention he needs. I just want him to have a happy home where he can truly be part of the family. This picture was taken earlier this yearAnd for the last question, no he has not bitten anyone.Thank you for considering adoption and helping a pet find a loving new home!

She loves people, hides from children and shares a home with cats along with Reign. She is well-mannered and enjoys her toys, walks, and playing with Reign when outside. Story
I don’t know what happened to her before I got her, but she has a lot of fear and anxiety. When I first started caring for her, she made great progress, especially when gently socializing with other dogs. Having another calm dog around really helped her confidence. She has never been aggressive—she may bark at unfamiliar people, but it’s always from fear. Loud noises also make her shake. Because of recent health and family issues, I can’t give her the stable, quiet home she needs, and her anxiety has gotten worse. She has all her shots and takes a monthly flea pill. She recently became so stressed that she stopped eating and drinking consistently, and pushing her seemed to make it worse. I believe her struggles are environmental, not medical. She is a very sweet, gentle dog who wants to feel safe. I’m hoping to find a patient home, ideally with another friendly dog, where she can rebuild her confidence and enjoy life again.
