Story
LOCATED IN SACRAMENTO, CA Gus is about 4 years old. Hes approximately 60 pounds. He has had no ailments or contact with sick dogs. He was left behind by his owner after a breakup and is now in our care. I am helping a friend rehome as they are no longer able to keep him due to recent medical changes. Hes a remarkable dog. Too much to say in a few words. Hes good with kids and loves other dogs, fine with cats but certainly interested in them. He loves to run, play and be crazy, but is also more than happy cuddling on the couch with you. Some fun quirks he has, is that he will sniff his butt every time you lift his tail, and he will always chase you if you run in the opposite direction. Would do best with other dogs, a yard or farmland Let me know if he sounds like a good fit! He could use a gentle introduction to a new home, as this will be his 2nd rehoming in the last 2 years due to no fault of his own, the current owners reached out so they can avoid surrendering him to a shelter.

Story
Little Esme is 2 month old Austrailian Shepherd mix pup. Though she comes across as shy, her sweet tail wags the entire time she interacts with her people. She is incredibly sweet and affectionate and we think she will come out of her shell and be a normal, happy pup once she is given the proper tools (time, patience, and love). She does well with dogs and cats and we expect that she will do well with respectful and kind children. Her energy level will likely be medium to high as she grows and we`re sure that she would enjoy walks and running around much like any other young dog! We recommend puppy training classes or working on her socialization in other constructive ways to build up her confidence. Weight: 12 poundsAge: 2 months Other Dogs: yesCats: YesKids: Presumed to do well. Needs kind and respectful interactions Home Type: active-semi active homeDoes well in carsIf you are interested in adopting please fill out our online application at highsierraanimalrescue.org.
