Story
Hi, my name is Moana and I'm about 10 months old.  I was rescued by Bond County Humane Society from a shelter in KY.  I was originally brought in as a stray to the shelter in KY and had been there for several months.  When I arrived at BCHS I was so timid I just sat in the corner.  Day by day I became more relaxed and now I come to greet people with my tail wagging.  I have a silly quirk about eating my food.  I lay down with a front leg on each side of the bowl and eat my food.  If someone approaches I get up and move away from the food.  I like the security of being with someone when I'm outside.  I frequently look for reassurance that my walker is still with me.  I am skittish in new places.  I need someone who will be patient with me and help me build my confidence.   I am gentle and like being petted.  I am crate trained and probably house trained.  I am available for immediate adoption.  I am spayed, UTD on vaccinations, heartworm tested, treated for internal and external parasites and micro chipped.  My adoption fee is $250.  If you are interested in making me a member of your family please complete an Adoption Profile in person or on-line at www.bondcohumane.org.  Email the completed profile to the address provided.  A copy of our policy regarding warranties, refunds and returns is available upon request.February 28, 2026, 9:38 am

Story
Added River bday pic today Feb 2026 with new toy he loved it.I rescued river weighed 4 lb now weighs 71. He will be 2 yrs Feb 8, 2026.really good dog! Unfortunately I got reoccurrence of breast cancer and found out my husband has prostate cancer we are not able to give River the attention he deserves. He’s spoiled and use to being warm in winter cool in summer. I put picture of him laying under fan he loves his fan in the summer. hard to describe what we have set up for him to stay in but it’s very nice even though he’s not in the house. I will take pictures send to whoever is interested so you can see his area he could be in house likes both. I wish my circumstances were different I hate to see him go I want to make sure it’s someone who loves animals and will be good to him not fair to him now I don’t think this is a good life he needs more attention. You can have all his things he has 2 beds too. With a heavy heart this was a hard decision. I hope he gets a great home.

Joseph is the cutest little bundle of personality. Only about 5 pounds, he’s an Australian shepherd/Pomeranian mix who loves toys, the great outdoors, and his people. There’s a lot of energy in this happy boy, but he also likes to relax and snuggle. Joseph is 4 months old. He’s good in his crate, working at potty training, and is starting to figure out walking on a leash. Joseph absolutely loves other dogs and would love to have an active dog BFF. He chases balls, has fantastic zoomies, and wants to win every game of tag. We bet he’d be a natural at agility or dog sports. Joseph would love a home with a physical, fenced yard where he could race around and have fun. He’d love an active person who will take him on adventures. This happy boy is being fostered in the St. Louis area. ##2628704##

We’re not sure about Veronica’s backstory, but we know that she’s likely been through a lot. It seems as if someone wasn’t always very nice to her because she shuts down in some situations. But she does want to be right with her person, following closely on their heels. We think Veronica is about 6 years old. She is a gorgeous Australian shepherd with a gentle personality. While she is recovering from heartworm treatment, she still has energy and wants to play.  Veronica is deaf and has limited vision. She’s very smart and has learned several touch commands including “good girl” and “come.” She is learning to walk nicely on a leash and is housebroken. She sleeps nicely in her pen overnight. Veronica would do best in a home with a friendly dog to help give her confidence. She does not like being left alone for very long, so she’d love someone who is home most of the day. She’d love an active person because she loves to explore and go on adventures. She’d prefer a physical, fenced yard to keep her safe. This sweet, beautiful Aussie is being fostered in the St. Louis area.  ##2378212##

Story
Handsome Martin is the perfect mix of Australian shepherd and corgi. He has the brains, the looks, and the personality. This 3-month-old puppy was orphaned with his sister when his mom died tragically. He was bottle-raised and is now a sweet and loving puppy who certain adores his people. Martin’s favorite thing to do is play with toys. He is good with other dogs and is doing well with potty training, crate training, and walking on a leash.  Martin is deaf and has quickly been picking up loads of hand signals. In days, he learned sit, treat, stay, come, and kennel. He’s brilliant and eager to learn more. Martin would love a home where someone is around much of the day. He would prefer a physical, fenced yard so he could have safe zoomies and adventures. Martin absolutely loves his humans and wants to be held close and snuggled as much as possible.
