Short Tail Shelly came to us from a kill shelter in Arkansas where she ended up by no fault of her own. This is a nice, friendly girl who is good with people & other dogs. She is very sweet, happy but would benefit from some basic obedience and confidence building. Her approx. birth date is 02/14/22 and she currently weighs 40# full grown. We are guessing at her breed make up. She does have a short tail. This girl tested fine with cats. She has been vet. checked, spayed, micro chipped, is up to date on routine shots & wormings includung rabies, and has been treated with flea & heart worm preventative per our protocol. She is also heart worm negative. Her adoption donation is $250 and needs to be cash, certified check, money order or a debit/credit card. There is a 3% processing fee when using a debit/credit card. We're looking for a new home for Iris. She is such a sweet and fun Australian Shepherd but due to a small house and the fact that she doesn't do well with our other dogs, she will have a better life in a different home. She is the smartest Aussie I have ever had - and I've had 4 of them! She loves to work and learn tricks, highly food motivated, highly motivated to please, and loves to go on hikes. She'll have her energy bursts, but once she gets her daily walk or play in, she wants nothing more than to snuggle up to you. She is reactive to strangers, but she is just now finishing up her third week of training and we are seeing so much improvement! The trainers are going to help with the transition from our home to yours - we will be covering the expense of "Transition Training" sessions. We want the best for this girl! She is such a sweetheart, but we just don't have as much time and energy as we used to to meet her needs.

Meet Layla! She is a 5-year-old Australian Shepherd mix we have available for adoption. Layla has lived outside most of her life and is unfortunately Heartworm & Lyme-positive. She has completed her treatment and now is just waiting for her six month retest to see if she is negative! Her future home should have a large yard for her to run in or an active owner that is willing to give her lots of exercise! Layla is a gentle girl who is very easy to walk on a leash, so going for long walks will be enjoyable! If you are looking for a loyal girl who wants to spend all day with you, Layla is the dog for you! She loves everyone she meets and is quite the social butterfly. She does have some separation anxiety, so she will need an owner who is home most of the time, or someone who is willing to help build her confidence when she is left alone.
