MEET ONE OF THE BASEBALL TEAMS LITTER PUPPIES! This little one is one of 9 adorable babies are almost six weeks old and will be ready to go home on April 30th. They had their check-ups and first round of puppy shots and all are deemed to be perfect (but we already knew that ) At 5 1/2 weeks they already weigh between 7.3 and 10.9 lbs! So they are on track to be medium to large sized adult dogs. Beautiful mama is 55 lbs, but most of the puppies look like they will be bigger than their mama when they are done growing. The general consensus on mama is that she is Bull Terrier (not pit bull terrier) mix, but we can't figure out what she might be mixed with. The puppies looks a lot like Border Collie or Australian Shepherd mix, but that is just our best guess too. If you think you might want to give this sweet pup a home, please email jojosdogrescue@gmail.com and we will send you an application, or visit our website: www.jojosdoghouse.com and download one. Adoption fee is $250, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, parasite treatment, and microchip with lifetime registration.

Story
In December, we took in 14 dogs from a property of 100 dogs of all ages. We still have 5 that are looking for their fur-ever homes. They had little to no exposure to humans before coming to NLOL. They have been used to only being with other dogs, not interacting in a loving way with people. When they came to our shelter, they did not understand play or toys, and had a flight response to human interaction. This behavior makes us feel that a home without small children is best for them. After months of the staff working with them and with our trainers, @Wolf Hill Kennels, it has been decided that socializing is the priority for their adjustment into companions. They will need to each be in a home with time to dedicate to their needs, growth and care. A home for these dogs will require a lot of one-on-one time to build a relationship. Some will very likely need hand feeding to gain trust along with continued efforts towards leash training, potty training, and helping them gain confidence in themselves. We know they are used to their pack; however we are not sure of how they will be with other dogs (Slow introductions and awareness of body language between them and personal pets will be imperative). We anticipate they will look to another dog for direction but don't know this for sure. Having structure and building a relationship with humans is important in their growth. Being in a home to learn how to be loved and enjoy being a dog is something they each deserve. They are spayed/neutered, microchipped, have age-appropriate vaccines, are heartworm negative, and on flea/tick & heartworm prevention. If you are willing to open your home and your heart, you can adopt one of these special pups for $150. **All New Leash on Life dogs must be adopted to families willing to have their pets be allowed inside-especially at night. No dog is allowed to be put on a "tie out" or chain outside and should be walked on a leash when not in a fenced in yard.**
