Story
Gidget is a spunky little girl that loves to play and loves attention. She is a super cute little puppy with lots of love to give. She is a puppy so she still makes lots of messes and still has lots to learn, so she needs an adopter willing to teach her all she needs to know.

Story
Ryder was found at a construction site by workers. He was skin and bones! Between the skin infection and being starved, he had given up. He's been in a foster home since then and recovered nicely, physically. He does have trust issues that have to be earned. He is fearful of men, and seems to attach to one person. He is getting a long nicely with his fur siblings, but we do not recommend  home with children. He isnt the type of the dog that likes 'hugs' or anyone getting too close to his face, so a home without children is best.  He would be best in a home with other animals. He has done great with cats in his foster home. He is working on crate training, but so far he is not fan! He is a great watch dog and will alert you to someone or something. He is mostly house trained He loves to play ball, run, and learn new commands. A fence yard is preferred  If you would like to make Ryder a part of your family, fill out an application at www.barktownrescue.org    RYDER'S ADOPTION FEE IS $170The shelter software system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only guessing at the dog's predominant breed or breed mix. We strongly encourage you to select your new pet by looking at each dog's individual personality and pet qualities rather than relying on a breed label that is only our best guess.    Our adoption fees vary from $150 and up.  All of our dogs are up to date on vaccines, heart worm preventives, and flea/tick medication, and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Portions of your adoption fee also help care for the sick and injured animals that we take in.  Thank you for supporting us and considering a rescue dog!    December 8, 2023, 11:30 am

Story
URGENT Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Lexington, KY Meet Indy! She is a beautiful 1 year old Miniature American Shepherd and weighs between 20-30 lbs. She is spayed, microchipped and up to date on shots, but isn’t on heartworm prevention. Indy is nervous around strangers, but her owner says she is a sweet girl. She is good with cats, but hasn’t been tested around kids or other dogs. She is crate-trained, but isn’t housebroken. Indy came from an abusive situation. The current owner rescued her from that situation. She is unable to keep her, due to her living situation. She needs to go immediately! If you think you can provide a great home for Indy, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Indy. Owner’s Contact Information: Emily Brooks at (706) 248-2047 emilygracebrooks04@gmail.com.

Story
Glinda is an Aussie staffy mix (our best guess). She is about 2 yrs old and 43 lbs. She good with dogs that don't are not hyper and jumping all over her. She wants to be held and loved on. She is not great on a leash but with encouragement will walk. She is a little scared when approached but does good with reassurance. She is Lymes positive and is on antibiotics but is heart worm negative. She has her spay appointment soon. She seems to love cats and gave kisses to the one she was introduced to as a test. ##1823179##
