Story
Luna is a four year old purebred Australian Shepherd. She is an absolute lovebug who needs space to run, play, and nap. Luna definitely needs a little bit more training as her current parents work a little too much. Once she has something to focus on, she's the greatest girl in the world. She warms up to people very quickly, but will take a little bit of time to warm up to other dogs. We believe she may have some deeprooted fear of other dogs overall. It's imperative that you give her wiggle room and a big yard, plenty of toys, and lots of cuddles. Luna is a loyal girl, and wildly protective, but she needs a more active lifestyle than the one she currently has. Luna loves sleeping on her back, getting belly rubs, and working for treats. She can be a little possessive of toys, but she's always down for a trade of a "better" toy.

Story
Callie is a 1-year-old Mini Australian Shepherd mix with a heart full of love and a tail that never stops wagging! Weighing just 13 pounds, she’s the perfect size for cuddles on the couch or adventures on the go.  Whether she's doing zoomies in the yard or flopping over for belly rubs, Callie’s joyful spirit is contagious. Callie is a goofy, happy little pup who’s great with other dogs and gentle with kids. She's already potty trained and learning quickly in her foster home. While she may be a bit shy at first and takes a little time to warm up, once she feels safe, her playful and affectionate side really shines.   She is spayed, current on her vaccines, and microchipped.  Her adoption fee is $275 and you can apply to adopt her at www.rescueofhope.com/adopt/ ##2417303##

Story
We adopted Kai from a litter in Portage, Mi. He was the runt of the litter and is now 3 years old. Kai loves attention and thrives with structure. Unfortunately with a toddler, another on the way and too hectic of work schedules to give him the attention he deserves. We are looking for a good home to do right by Kai. He does have behavioral training through Bark Busters for life and can transfer to the new owner.

URGENT Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Grand Rapids, MI Meet Tiga! She is an 3 year old Australian Shepherd and weighs 35 lbs. She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on shots, but isn’t on heartworm prevention. Tiga hasn’t been tested around older children or cats. No younger children or dogs, due to her reactivity! She is housebroken and crate-trained. The owner is surrendering her because she doesn’t do well with younger children. She needs to go by 1/28! If you think you can provide a great home for Tiga, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Tiga. Owner’s Contact Information: Kassidy at kjnoyes2@gmail.com.

Story
Name: Fred Breed Guess: Aussie Mix Age: 8 weeks old on 6/15/25 Gender: Male Adult Weight Guess: 30-50 pounds Adoption fee: $525 Am I good with: Children: Puppies require proper socialization Cats: Puppies require proper socialization Dogs: Meet and greet Required About me: Hi there! I'm a puppy full of energy, smarts, and wiggles. I love to play, explore, and learn new things - I'm always ready for my next adventure! I'm looking for a fun & active family who'll help me grow into the amazing dog I'm meant to be! I've been at the ARP since 6/15/25 and am currently located at the rescue. The Animal Rescue Project (www.animalrescueproject.org) is committed to the best possible veterinary care for the pets it rescues and it is looking for adopters who will be similarly committed. Adoptions are NOT first come, first served! We seek to choose the best fit for the approved adopter and pet. Please understand that these animals are still new to us and their needs and requirements can change at any time as we learn more about them. We will try our best to get them updated online as soon as possible. All dogs and puppies are given a general check-up when they enter our program. They receive medication to remove any intestinal parasites (worms), fleas, and ticks they may have. Dogs greater than six months of age are checked for heartworm. If heartworm positive, the Animal Rescue Project treats the disease. Dogs and pups receive all age-appropriate vaccinations for distemper, and dogs greater than four months of age are also vaccinated for rabies, in compliance with State of Michigan laws. All dogs are also microchipped. Most dogs and older puppies are spayed or neutered before adoption. In the case of puppies not old enough to be safely sterilized, a $50 deposit is required at the time of adoption and is refunded to the adopter with proof of sterilization. The Animal Rescue Project requires every adopter to establish an active relationship with a veterinarian no later than 10 days after adoption. Adopters will receive a plan for routine veterinary care at the time of adoption and are expected to work with their vet to complete the plan.
