Story
Meet Leo. He was adopted as a puppy 4 years ago & unfortunately was returned due to a divorce. Leo is a sweet boy, but loosing the only home he's ever remembered, it took him some time to adjust to his foster home. He is now coming out of his shell & doing great!  Leo would benefit from a home that is calm & quiet. He would do well with an adopter that was home a majority of the time  ##1810070##

Story
URGENT Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Elk Mound, WI Atlas is an 4 year old Australian Shepherd and weighs 45 lbs. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on shots, and on heartworm prevention. Atlas is nervous around strangers. He hasn’t been tested around older children. He is good with cats! No dogs or younger children, due to his reactivity! The owner is surrendering him because he doesn’t do well with her younger children. He has to go by 4/28! If you think you can provide a great home for Atlas, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Atlas. Owner’s Contact Information: Tara Bettasso at (715) 450-1145 or tarabettasso@gmail.com.

Story
Name: Sierra Rose Breed Guess: Australian Shepherd Mix Age: 3 years old Gender: Female Weight: 63 pounds Shelter Temperament: Friendly Children: Unknown Cats: Can test upon request Dogs: Meet and Greet Required Adoption fee: $375 Likes: Playing outside, giving kisses, being brushed The Animal Rescue Project (www.animalrescueproject.org) is committed to the best possible veterinary care for the pets it rescues and it is looking for adopters who will be similarly committed. Adoptions are NOT first come, first served! We seek to choose the best fit for the approved adopter and pet. Please understand that these animals are still new to us and their needs and requirements can change at any time as we learn more about them. We will try our best to get them updated online as soon as possible. All dogs and puppies are given a general check-up when they enter our program. They receive medication to remove any intestinal parasites (worms), fleas, and ticks they may have. Dogs greater than six months of age are checked for heartworm. If heartworm positive, the Animal Rescue Project treats the disease. Dogs and pups receive all age-appropriate vaccinations for distemper, and dogs greater than four months of age are also vaccinated for rabies, in compliance with State of Michigan laws. All dogs are also microchipped. Most dogs and older puppies are spayed or neutered before adoption. In the case of puppies not old enough to be safely sterilized, a $50 deposit is required at the time of adoption and is refunded to the adopter with proof of sterilization. The Animal Rescue Project requires every adopter to establish an active relationship with a veterinarian no later than 10 days after adoption. Adopters will receive a plan for routine veterinary care at the time of adoption and are expected to work with their vet to complete the plan.
