Story
Meet Baron! 🐾 Baron is a remarkable young pup, just 1 year old and weighing 45 lbs, who’s ready to find his forever family. He is fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. Baron previously tested positive for a tick-borne disease but has since been fully treated. With a heart as big as the ocean, Baron is a true water dog—he loves cooling off by lounging in a doggy pool on warm days. He’s well-mannered, house-trained, and kennel-trained, making him an easy addition to the right home. Baron gets along wonderfully with other dogs, and having a canine companion in the household is actually preferred, as he opens up more quickly when he has another dog to bond with. Baron can be a bit shy at first, especially around men, and may take a few days to feel comfortable. A patient, understanding family will help him blossom into the loving companion he’s meant to be. Because of his gentle and reserved nature, we recommend a home with a fenced-in yard and older children who understand boundaries. While Baron isn’t overly active, he enjoys relaxing around the house, exploring the yard, and going on regular walks—he walks beautifully on a leash. Sweet, loyal, and full of potential, Baron is ready to grow and thrive with a family who will give him the time and love he deserves. Could you be the one Baron has been waiting for? Take the first step toward a lifetime of love and companionship by giving Baron the forever home he deserves. 💙 I'm being fostered in La Feria, TX but can be transported to any midwestern or northeastern state. Adoption fee is $500. Please apply to adopt here: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/ASHT/Dog

Story
Paisley is a Female Aussie/Terrier mix. DOB: June of 2022 Adoption fee: $100.00 I am not a big girl. I was quite thin upon arrival at the shelter. I have now been spayed, and I am gaining weight at a healthy rate. I am an active girl, so I may always be on the slender side. I am doing well with leash walking. I am clean in my kennel and will wait patiently for my turn to go out. I may require a physically fenced-in yard. Not much information was provided on intake, and I can be a little nervous in new situations. I appear to be playful towards other dogs but may have too much of a prey drive to be in a home with cats. I will be a great walking or playing in the yard buddy. I am sure once I have exercised, I will also enjoy taking naps.

Story
Meet Toby!! Tobys story starts like far too many in Houston abandoned on the streets, struggling to survive, painfully thin with raw, irritated skin. Despite everything hes been through, he never lost his gentle spirit. Thanks to an incredible foster, Toby was given the chance to heal, and today hes healthy, happy, and officially finished with heartworm treatment. Now, hes ready for what hes always deserved: a forever home. Now for the best part - Toby himself. Toby is what we lovingly call a stage-five clinger. He thrives on affection and wants to be as close to his person as possible. After a hard start to life, he’s learning that love is here to stay, and that reassurance means everything to him. With time and security, his foster is confident he’ll settle into a more balanced independence but for now, expect a loyal shadow. True to his Australian Shepherd roots, Toby is incredibly smart, athletic, a great swimmer, and eager to engage. Toys are his passion if there’s something he can carry around proudly in his mouth, he will. Hes also an excellent running partner; his foster mom is training for a marathon, and Toby easily keeps pace for five miles and beyond. An active home that enjoys exercise and mental stimulation is a must for this guy. Toby is already potty trained, crate trained, and knows basic commands. Hes still polishing his manners (especially when excitement leads to jumping), but he’s eager to learn and quick to catch on. He loves kids including toddlers and does great with other dogs, especially playful companions. While hes friendly and social, he’d do best with a dog who wants to be his buddy rather than a dominant “boss.” Toby is pure heart. He rides beautifully in the car, walks nicely on leash, and wants nothing more than to be included in everyday life with his people. He’s affectionate, joyful, and endlessly loyal the kind of dog who makes your house feel like home. If you’re looking for a devoted adventure partner and lifelong best friend, Toby might just be your perfect match. Toby is fostered in Houston, Texas, but is available for adoption across many states. Transport is included in the adoption fee.

Story
King Terrien is a 6 year old, absolute goofball. He loves his toys, cuddles, going on walks/runs, and pretending he doesn't remember how to roll over. Lived with dogs and cats. Would do best with older children that can respect his space. He is reactive towards dogs and strangers.. He has gotten along/played with other dogs. He is high energy and may be overstimulating for some dogs. Overly excited with cats at times but never aggressive towards them. But is able to calm down after awhile. Due to dramatic life changes I am not longer able to provide a fulfilling life for him and it's unfair. I want him to go to a home that can care for and love him unconditionally!!!
