Story
Splash is a well trained dog, very loyal and submissive, although he definitely likes to make his voice heard! You'll always know if someone is walking up to your house. He's quite submissive and not very playful with other dogs, but he has no problem tolerating them as long as they are not in his face. He's also not the biggest fan of loud children. He definitely has a bit of anxiety, not sure where it stems from but thankfully it doesn't affect his demeanor too much, he's just a little more antsy sometimes. He also takes his time getting used to new people. This dog needs a household that can keep up with an energetic lifestyle. He loves to chase a ball which makes him quite easy to keep exercised. He isn't leash trained but has been proven to be able to in the past, thankfully he's not heavy enough to take you off your feet and can most certainly be trained again. Cooling off in a kiddie pool is one of his absolute favorite things to do in the summer.

Story
Loki is a 6 year old Australian Shepard. He has largely been a great dog. But, he has some food aggression issues and has bitten myself and my wife on the arm and leg in two incidents involving food. Otherwise he has been a really loving and great dog. We have a new baby and to be cautious we are looking to re-home Loki. His food/possession issues probably doesn’t make him a great good in a house with kids.He loves to snuggle and go on walks. He is fine with other dogs when off leash at the park, but might not get along good with other foods in the home due to the food/possession aggression issues. He also barks aggressively when packages are delivered. Just looking to find him a loving home when he can have a good life.Thank you.

Story
Sheila is an 8 year old mini Australian shepherd we got as a puppy in South Carolina. She is a very sweet, loving, energetic dog who loves kids. She is crate trained, but still has accidents inside of the home. She loves running around outside and being around people. Looking for a new home that can provide her space to run outside, play with children, and be loved. She thinks she’s a lap dog.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Susie is a beautiful Aussie mix. She is a 2 years old and is 70lbs. Susie is fearful when meeting new people and takes time to be comfortable. It may take multiple meet and greets for Susie. She would do best in a quiet house with a consistent routine. She does jump up on people when she is happy to see them. She loves to play with toys and other dogs her size with proper introduction. She does love to chew Nyla bones and antlers. She will bark when someone comes to the door and she sees things in the yard. She is housebroken and knows some basic commands. Susie is not good with cats. She is an active dog but calms down in the house. Susie would love a fenced in yard to play in. She will bark at things she sees when outside in the yard. She would not be good in an apartment. If you are interested in Susie fill out an application. HDDCR requires a spay/neuter contract by the adopter if puppies and kittens in our care are too young for sterilization. This is a form the adopter signs at the time of adoption, confirming that they will get the pet spayed/neutered by a certain date. We will hold a $50 deposit on top of the adoption fee until we receive proof from a veterinarian that the dog was spayed/neutered. The $50 deposit will then be returned to the adopter.&#226&#128&#139 Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a    $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee    to change information.   Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost. Story
What a goofy, happy puppy Alistair was for his photo shoot! He is estimated to be about 10 months old and weighs 47 pounds. Meet Alistair, a bundle of wiggly, playful fun! This outgoing and active boy is a true social butterfly, always eager to say hello and make new friends. Alistair is very engaged with you and ready to learn. He loves to play fetch and is more than happy to bring the ball back to you, showing off his good manners. Alistair is a herding dog at heart, so he thrives with a leader who can provide him with structure, mental stimulation, and plenty of opportunities to exercise that brilliant mind. He does have some food bowl guarding though, and his adopter will need to continue with his training on this and continue to solidify trading between toys and rewarding for "drop". If you understand the needs of a herding pup, Alister would love it if you came to meet him, he can't wait to grow up with a family to love! He will need an adult only home. If you are interested in Alistair and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do
