You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Susie is a beautiful Aussie mix. She is a 2 years old and is 70lbs. Susie is fearful when meeting new people and takes time to be comfortable. It may take multiple meet and greets for Susie. She would do best in a quiet house with a consistent routine. She does jump up on people when she is happy to see them. She loves to play with toys and other dogs her size with proper introduction. She does love to chew Nyla bones and antlers. She will bark when someone comes to the door and she sees things in the yard. She is housebroken and knows some basic commands. Susie is not good with cats. She is an active dog but calms down in the house. Susie would love a fenced in yard to play in. She will bark at things she sees when outside in the yard. She would not be good in an apartment. If you are interested in Susie fill out an application. HDDCR requires a spay/neuter contract by the adopter if puppies and kittens in our care are too young for sterilization. This is a form the adopter signs at the time of adoption, confirming that they will get the pet spayed/neutered by a certain date. We will hold a $50 deposit on top of the adoption fee until we receive proof from a veterinarian that the dog was spayed/neutered. The $50 deposit will then be returned to the adopter.&#226&#128&#139 Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a    $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee    to change information.   Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost. He becomes hyper active, and we have a Down syndrome kid that is not able to share anything with him, and that makes the dog more active with him. The dog is still puppy on his brain, do not byte, but you need to watch to not be scratched with his nails. Loves to jump on all people. Never get tired.

Story
Charlie is a 9 year old purebred Australian Shepherd. He would be best suited in a home without other dogs or small children. Ideally, I would love him to go to a farm or a home with a big yard, but he would be just as happy in any home. He’s a very happy dog and very smart.

Story
This handsome fellow and his siblings came in to rescue last winter after they were dumped on a back country road. Their mother was found deceased, so we took the puppies in to try to save them. They were very sick initially but are very healthy now. Big boy is a gentle boy but does love to run and play with other dogs. Big boy was the largest of the puppies, but his siblings have caught up to him. He has done amazing with his house and crate training. He is so deserving of a wonderful home to call his own. He is fostered in East TN, but transportation is included in the adoption fee and provided by Rescue Riders LLC. Please let me know if you have any questions. Please email us for the link to the adoption application (His adoption fee is only to cover transport and health certificate to travel to another state.)

Story
A little different. A lot of love in Kalamazoo Polaris is a stunning 8 month old Aussie pup with a story - and a heart - you won’t soon forget. Born as the result of double merle breeding, Polaris is deaf and has very limited vision. When he couldn’t be sold, he was dumped to fend for himself, along with his blind and deaf sister. But he’s since shown that he’s more than anyone expected - resilient, loving, and full of life. Despite his challenges, Polaris is a happy, affectionate pup who’s never met a stranger. He finds comfort being close to his person, especially outside, and will thrive in a home with a fenced-in yard where he can safely explore by your side. Fun Facts About Polaris *Loves to play inside - especially fetch with his ball! *Occasionally barks at things he can see, but a gentle touch and quick reassurance calms him right down. * Needs the same love, training, and exercise as any Aussie pup - he just does it his way. * Sweet, social, and ready to love big. * He loves to swing with his person on a porch swing. Polaris is looking for a furever home that understands that having special needs doesn’t mean less - just different. He is looking for his best friend; someone to take him with them and keep him by their side. Polaris is UTD on his vaccines, neutered, microchipped, and on HW and flea prevention. He currently weighs about 45#. He is housebroken; he has learned to go to the door when he needs to potty. (He will need some time, and patience, to figure out where the door is in his new home.) He is well on his way to being crate trained. He will need work with his leash skills, although he walks well beside his foster mom in the yard. If you think Polarais is the perfect pup for you, please fill out an application at https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application. There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to his new furever family. Polaris is currently located in Kalamazoo, MI.

Story
URGENT Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Grosse Pointe, MI *This dog doesn’t belong to ASF and hasn’t been evaluated by ASF.* Meet Paco! is a 6-year-old Australian Shepherd and weighs 51 lbs. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on shots, and on heartworm prevention. Paco is good with older children, farm animals, cats, and dogs! No younger children, due to his reactivity! Paco is an extremely loving and velcro dog! He goes on 2-3 runs a week, as well as has free roam of the house and fenced-in yard. He loves frisbee and walks well on a leash! He is very active during the day but turns into a couch potato at night. Paco bit the owner’s young son after he chased him around a room and tried to hug him. He also attempted to bite the neighbor’s young daughter who poked her face through the fence. The owner is surrendering him because he doesn’t do well with younger children. He needs to go by 7/11! If you think you can provide a great home for Paco, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever, for their assistance in placing Paco. The owner is willing to cover this fee for his next adopter. Story
Age: 1 year Breed: Border Collie mix Sex: Male Weight: 40 lbs Energy Level: Moderate/Still building confidence Jesse is a tenderhearted young Collie mix who recently made the trip from Kentucky to his foster home in southeast Michigan — where the snow was a big new experience! Despite all the changes in his world, Jesse has shown himself to be incredibly gentle, quiet, and people-oriented. He loves pets and is warming up well to his foster family. As he gains confidence, he is starting to show more of his playful puppy energy and behaviors, but he responds well to structure and redirection. Jesse is naturally curious but still finding his confidence. He has begun going on short walks, and he uses a leash well for bathroom breaks while he continues to learn that the world outside is a safe place. With encouragement and routine, he’s already making steady progress. He is crate-trained, sleeps quietly through the night, and has done very well when left alone. This boy is also potty-trained and knows basic cues like “sit” and “no.” Jesse is very food-motivated, which makes training rewarding and fun. Jesse is one of those rare, young dogs who comes with a naturally calm, gentle presence. He’s affectionate, eager to learn, and incredibly resilient for all he's been through. He does have a herding instinct, which he has displayed toward cats and toward young children. He is gentle with the foster family’s four-year-old, but his herding behavior can be overwhelming for small kids. Because of this, he may be best in a home without cats or very young children. With time, consistency, and love, his personality will continue to blossom, and he’ll repay you with loyalty, sweetness, and endless cuddles. Neutered and up to date on vaccinations. Jesse Facts: - Quiet; not a barker (though might give out a few yips when excited about a treat) - No chewing tendencies observed - Good with baths and handling - Nervous in new situations but adapts with support - Good history with other dogs (per previous foster), though he hasn’t met any in his current home yet - Jesse has shown some herding/prey-drive behaviors toward cats, so he would do best in a cat-free home - Has shown playful herding behavior toward young children; may do best in a home without small kids Please visit Jesse and his friends on our web page. https://www.midwestbordercollierescue.org/alldogs
