Story
Rooster is a 5 year old purebred mini Aussie with high energy. He does have papers tho he is sterilized. He has been mostly indoors and doesn't really enjoy outdoors unless you are right by him the whole time. He is not a barker and he is good to cats and kids. He has only been around a few other dogs. They were all male and he is not aggressive in the least so the interactions did not go well for him. He needs a house without larger male dogs, and maybe just not other dogs at all unless they are a puppy he can grow to not fear. He is happy to lay around with you and happy to play. He does not have a history of chewing things up and uses the potty outside. He does well on a leash with a body harness but not a collar. He can sit. That is as far as his training goes. He is just a really big lover boy and needs that energy back.

Story
Reba, a 5-year-old Mini Aussie weighing 37.9 lbs. is affectionate and quickly forms strong bonds with her owner. She needs to be the only dog as she prefers not to share her beloved human. Reba tends to herd other animals away from her owner and may become aggressive if they ignore her warnings. She travels well in cars, enjoys baths, and behaves impeccably indoors. Reba comes from a challenging background and is registered but lacks paperwork. If you're seeking a devoted companion and prefer to have just one dog, consider beautiful Reba. Reba is spayed, dewormed, heartworm negative, flea and tick treated and micro-chipped. $165 Rescue adoption fee applies. Contact Lori via email or text: 760-680-3713 Located in Grove, Ok.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Cloud is a 2 - 3 yr old female Border Collie mix. She has a medium energy level, so she should fit well into most homes provided she receives a moderate amount of daily exercise and play. She can be shy initially, but warms up quickly to new people. She likes to sit by her person for snuggles. Cloud does pull on a leash, but with basic obedience training, she should be walking like a champ in no time! She is food motivated, but does not yet know any commands. She mixes well with other dogs in a kennel, but is afraid of cats in the shelter environment. Dogs are generally tested with dogs of their own size; and dog meets with the resident dogs are always encouraged. Our cat test should be used as a general-purpose screening only to rule out overt aggression; we always recommend caution when introducing dogs to cats in the home. Recommendation on suitability of placement with children by their ages is based on behavioral observations including energy level and response to body handling. We never recommend leaving young children unsupervised with dogs, and we cannot guarantee the behavior of dogs with children, other pets, or cats. Behavior evaluations should be considered as a snapshot of the behavior of the dog at this point in time; JHS believes all dog families need to be prepared to invest time and energy into training as well as provide common sense management of their new dog. We always encourage family to do some research on the breeds or mixes of breeds prior to adoption as many can have some unique characteristics that may or may not fit into their families. Always remember that the majority of dogs at our shelter have been exposed to or may have kennel cough. Kennel cough is contagious to other dogs, please talk to your vet if you have any questions about kennel cough prior to adoption. Please ask your adoption counselor at time of adoption if you have any unanswered questions regarding illnesses and treatments of the pet that you are adopting. Story
Homer is a 1 - 2 yr old male Kelpie mix. He has a high energy level, so he would benefit from an active family with a fenced yard and plenty of space for daily exercise and play. He is loose and wiggly when greeting, and comes when called for snuggles. He also loves to hop up into your lap for hugs and kisses. Homer does moderately pull on a leash, but with basic obedience training, he should be walking like a champ in no time! He is food motivated, and knows the command sit. He mixes well with other dogs in a kennel and is indifferent towards cats in the shelter environment.
