Bob is a Mini Australian Shepherd and beagle mix, due to his breeding he needs an active person and would do really well with a sister or brother dog. He's only been left alone for a couple of hours at a time and behaved very well. He is not and wouldn't do well as a crate trained dog. He's very social and needs a child free home. He might do well with older kids like teenagers. He loves his car rides and sticking his head out the window, he's a hit at his daycare. I don't know if he'll get along with cats. You'll need a well fenced yard as he is an escape artist and digger. Bob comes with everything you need, food, toys, leads, heartworm prevention. If you have any questions please contact me.

This Kobe! He is an Austrian Shepherd and is roughly 9-10 months old. He is super energetic and sweet. He loves meeting new people and meeting other furry friends. He loves dog treats and will jump to get one! I got Kobe from a friend who needed to rehouse him. She thought he was mini… he’s definitely not! He was an inside dog for a while but recently got moved outdoors. I cannot give him as much attention as I used to since I am busy and about to go off to college. He has some of his shots when he was a puppy and he has his rabies shot. You would have to come pick him up since he is a bigger boy now!!

Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets!
