Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Your New Shadow This sweet boy is a true couch potato at heart. He’s not high-energy and has no interest in a busy, action-packed life. His favorite things are simple: hanging out with his person, taking long naps, and curling up on the couch for snuggles. If you’re a single person or a couple living a quieter, slower lifestyle and dreaming of a loyal dog who wants to be your shadow, he may be exactly who you’re looking for. He thrives in calm, predictable homes where he can feel safe and understood. Once he bonds with you, he’s deeply affectionate and happiest just being near—content to rest, relax, and soak up love. It’s important to share that he does need thoughtful handling and ongoing support. In the past, he has bitten people, not because he’s a “bad dog,” but because he was misunderstood and people placed him in situations that felt overwhelming, where he believed he needed to stand up for himself. He is currently working with a professional trainer to rebuild trust in people again and learn how to feel safe. Because of this, he’ll need a patient, adopter who is committed to continuing his training and willing to learn his boundaries, and how to introduce new people slowly and intentionally. He does best in a quiet home who understands that trust is built over time—not rushed. This boy isn’t looking for a social butterfly life. He’s looking for a soft place to land, a steady routine, and someone who sees him for who he truly is: a gentle, low-key soul who just wants to hang out, nap on the couch, and finally feel safe and loved. If you can offer him calm, consistency, and compassion, you’ll gain a deeply loyal companion who will happily be by your side every step—and every nap—of the way.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. &#226&#150&#186 We do not adopt to Canada  due to border restrictions and breed-specific legislation &#226&#150&#186 We adopt & foster locally only ; within an approximately 55 mile radius of Lockport, NY 14094 USA Adoption donation includes Spay/Neuter, Vaccinations, deworming & flea treatment. Story
Name: Scarlett O’HaraDOB: 6/24/2025Breed: Mini AussieSex: Spayed FemaleWeight: 30 lbsLocation: Niagara County Required: Fenced in yard (no electric fences please) Meet Scarlett O’Hara, she is an 18 month old puppy mill survivor.  She is calm, sweet and loves to be near her person. She enjoys a calm home free of chaos. She gets along well with respectful dogs. Scarlett walks on a leash , but requires a fenced in yard. She is a proper lady who prefers privacy to do her business. Scarlett is doing great with potty training and has not had any accidents in her foster home.   Scarlett is not a dog that needs to be fixed, she is a dog that needs time to adjust to a new world. Confinement is no longer in her vocabulary. She is not a dog that tolerates a crate. After spending too much time in one, crates are a source of anxiety, not comfort. Scarlett prefers a well furnished room to enjoy naps in your absence. Her bed time preference is your bed.   If you have a home with    CatsChildren under 10 Scarlett may be for you! Interested?? Apply https://www.716paws.org/adopt or message the rescue on facebook if you are already preapproved. ##2621541##
