Story
May I introduce Mocha, he is a 4 year old Aussie/German Shephard mix. We adopted him during covid and he has been an amazing addition to our family. Mocha loves to take walks, he is a very happy boy, and loves attention and to get lots of loves from his humans. He would sit for hours if your petting him. He is a very good guard dog and listens well. However, he is an escape artist and does not like to be in a create. He is very good in the home and does not chew or make a mess. We are rehoming him because we also adopted a pit mix that very aggressively attaches him. After years of trying to keep them apart we think Mocha would have a better life if he was able to run and play and not be confined half the time due to his brothers aggression. He would do better in a home with older children but is good with all people.

Story
Apollo is a healthy, vaccinated, housebroken, mixed color Australian Shepherd. He’s affectionate and gets along well with our smaller female dog. He’s okay with kids but prefers adults and calmer environments. Unfortunately, due to our demanding travel schedules and aging family support system, we can no longer give Apollo the consistent care he deserves. We’re looking for a loving home, ideally with a fenced yard where he can roam.

Story
Meet Jack, a sweet and sensitive 4-year-old dog looking for a very special forever home. He was adopted from a shelter and was believed to be a stray, and he still struggles with severe separation anxiety. Jack needs an experienced adopter who can help him work through his behavioral challenges and provide the steady routine he depends on. He would do best with someone who is home most of the day—such as a retired person, someone who works from home, or a patient family with children. Jack loves exercise and would thrive with a fenced-in yard, as he can be a flight risk when nervous. He has recently begun having accidents in the home, which we believe are caused by anxiety and a schedule change. It truly breaks our hearts to rehome him, but we know he deserves the consistent care and attention we can no longer provide. We hope to find the person who will be his true forever home.

Story
Meet Maple! Who goes by “Suga”! Maple is a 6 year old Aussie with a huge personality. She is the most playful, loving, and loyal dog. We are looking for her new forever home after rescuing her from a bad situation. We are unsure of her stance with children as she hasn’t had much exposure. She needs an experienced owner and although she did grow up with another dog in her previous home is very anxious around unknown dogs so a single dog home is best at first. Maple came from an abusive home where she was crated for most of the day. She can be weary of strangers entering the house & can take a while to warm up, once she does, she’s as loving as can be. Maple has come such a long way after being removed from her last home. She loves to play, loves tosses and is so smart! Tell her the toy is “too far” and she will bring it closer to you! Maple requires a bit more time, attention, and space than we are currently able to give her. Please reach out for more info!

Story
Olive is a high energy lover girl! She’s got a very silly personality and goofy little bark! I love her so much but I lost my job recently and I just can’t afford to keep her. I want to find her a great home where she will be happy and will have lots of cuddles and attention. She is very loyal to me and protective. Anyone will be lucky to have this fluffy baby! She will be one year in December, she can sit pretty and give paw for just about any treat! Easily trainable for farm duties if needed. Loves being outside so a large yard would be ideal for her.

Story
Fanny was born about June 26, 2023 and will likely top out about 50 lbs.  My goodness this girl is strikingly pretty!  She has a soft medium length coat that will cause you to deal with shedding.  Her color of tan is on the red side and then those eyes - WOWZA!  Fanny came to us as a stray through a nearby dog control officer after no owner was found.  Fanny is so sweet tempered and has a bit of comical quirkiness which surely comes from her Husky side.  She is very human motivated yet does wonderful with the other dogs.   We are experiencing some food protection with the other dogs, but it is manageable and will hopefully dissipate as she realizes she will never go hungry again.  Fanny rides fine in a car.  It seems she's not been on leash much and not sure what to do so she doesn't think she can move - there is that funny Husky personality again.  Fortunately, she has not ever had pups even though she was not spayed upon arrival and at the vet's office there was an, off leash, spicey Jack Russell that wanted to kick her butt and she just wanted to get away from it!  She is a super nice young lady that may be a bit of a diamond in the ruff, but it won't take long for her to become a fantastic canine companion.  Oh, one more thing we learned is that she does have the ability to get over a 6' enclosure, but we quickly learned it was only because she wanted to get to us humans and never to run off.  So, if you are owners who enjoy leaving your dog in the fenced back yard and driving away she is not for you.  Fanny is her name! The Adoption Fee for this dog is $_550.00__. Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a 'complete' pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY.    Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility. YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES   We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list. If a pet is still showing, it is still available for adoption.   Can't Adopt Me?  SPONSOR ME Look for the Link 'Special Instructions to Seller' if you want to note a particular pet Before you seek to adopt a pet from Joyful Rescues, please read our Pet Adoption page http://www.joyfulrescues.org/pet_adoption.html.
