Story
This pet was brought in as a stray and will NOT be available for adoption through our program. All stray animals brought in are posted on the gallery to hopefully be reunited with their families. Each pet is evaluated upon arrival, and throughout their stay, at the Animal Center and we do our best to place the animal in the setting most appropriate for them. Sometimes, they may be better served through one of our Transfer Partners due to the intervention needed, ongoing care required or a quieter setting for that individual. We want our animals to put their best paw forward. If you are a 501c3 rescue and are interested in partnering with WCAC to help this pet, and others, you can find more information on how to help at: https://www.wakegov.com/departments-government/animal-services/community-partners/transfer-program If this is your pet, please contact us immediately at AnimalCenter@wake.gov Primary Color: Tri Color Secondary Color: White Weight: 41.5

Story
Max is the sweetest boy. He loves to curl up on his bed and lie in the sun. He enjoys short walks. He has epilepsy, his seizures have been well controlled on medication twice daily. He has arthritis in his hips so he is not as active as he used to be. I am relocating for work and unable to take Max and his sister. I rescued him in 2016. I am very sad to rehome him.

Story
Hello my name is Journey. I am an Australian Shepherd mix. I am a lovable companion and looking for a new home. Quick facts: * Male, neutered * 9 years old * 55 pounds * House trained * Good with owners, adults * Fully vaccinated * Healthy I have been a loyal dog to my owners since being rescued eight years ago in Raleigh, NC. At first, I was a great companion to my single owner. Then, when my owner became married, I enjoyed the new relationship. A few weeks ago, a new baby was born and now things are too busy here, so I am currently staying with my grandparents. I enjoy being a great companion. I can be rather independent too. You might find me sitting next to you on the sofa, or more often than not you may find that I am resting in a quiet place of the house for a long nap. I do like to go outside a couple times a day. I like to play once in a while by pulling on a rope toy. I don’t like loud noises - such as thunderstorms - or strange sounds. I am not comfortable around other dogs and cats. I answer to most commands and I come when called. I go by Journey, Jay, or J-Dog. I hope you will consider me as your future companion. Please contact michael.g.scheu@gmail.com
