Story
Duck is a lovable whirlwind of a dog. His favorite people get more wiggles than his body can contain and he will literally never stop playing fetch. He also has a calm side: Duck will not complain if you have to skip a walk, and he is happy to lounge around during down time. He is loyal, and well-trained on and off leash. A fantastic walker and a dreamy hiking companion, he also responds quickly to commands like stay and place. Despite our best training efforts and management, Duck is not happy in a home with our two young children (3 and under). He has growled and snapped at them unprovoked, and seems overstimulated. Heartbreakingly, he needs a calmer home life with more attention and dog experience than we can provide. With a person/people that can give him focus and attention, Duck will thrive. Age: 5 yrs (January 2021 estimated birthday) Breed: Pit/Golden Retriever/Australian Shepard mix Color/Coat: Apricot, medium-long hair Weight: 50 lbs

Story
Lada is a sweet, affectionate mixed breed whose age while unknown is guessed by our veterinarian as about 1 year. She loves to cuddle and turn over so her belly is rubbed. She plays fetch. She is house-broken and crate-trained. She likes being in her crate in our bedroom at night. She’s wicked smart and the sky is the limit on what tricks she can learn. She is very healthy. She’s a good eater and is not fussy about food. Lada is up-to-date on all vaccinations and NextGard Plus chews. Lada is spayed and chipped. She is about 35 pounds. We will hand over all vet records. We adopted her in October. We do not know her history before then. The fact of the matter is that we are older and fear we cannot control her when we are on walks and she sees another dog. She has never attacked another dog, but she lunges and barks until the dog is out of sight. Lada is good with children and visitors to our house, including our grandchildren, who are toddlers.

Story
Penguin is a 60 lb 3 year old Australian shepherd/blue heeler mix (with a bit of border collie and collie). He was born 12/2/22 and rescued in Tennessee. I’m looking for a home with more space and stability for him. Hes been taking Prozac for 2 years to try to help with his anxiety/reactivity. He is a working breed and needs a lot of mental stimulation. He was raised around 5 other dogs and I would consider placing him in a home with another large dog if the dog is confident and not prone to tussling. I would prefer a home with experience with fear reactive/anxious dogs. No cats and no children please. He does have a prey drive and has gotten squirrels, birds, rabbits. He would come with all of his things and I am setting up an app w/Synergy for a behavioral assessment. Disclaimer: I am looking to rehome him because he attacked my senior small dog after living with her for 3 years. I have two other middle aged small dogs in my home that I had before him and cannot risk their safety.

Story
Meet Seven.Yes, that Seven. The internet can argue about 6 / 7 all it wants — he’s very confidently Seven. Seven came to Perfectly Imperfect Pups with vision and hearing challenges, but if you watched him for five minutes, you might question that diagnosis entirely. The vet suspects he doesn’t see much, yet he navigates our house with ease, rarely bumps into anything, and handles stairs like a pro. His hearing is selective rather than absent — he may not catch every everyday sound, but certain noises get an immediate, clear response. What stands out most is not what Seven can’t do, but how much he can do. He’s incredibly smart. Curious. An enthusiastic explorer who loves being outside and discovering the world. He’s doing very well with potty training and we’re actively working on crate training, where he’s already showing great progress. He sleeps comfortably in a crate and settles in nicely. Seven is also everything you want in a puppy. Sweet. Cuddly. Affectionate. He adores other dogs and plays beautifully with them. He bonds quickly and deeply with his people. If you didn’t know he had vision and hearing challenges, you likely wouldn’t notice at all. Seven is going to make an exceptional family member for someone who’s ready to love a dog who may do things a little differently — and wonderfully so. Perfectly Imperfect, just as he’s meant to be. pipsrescue.org/adopt ##2640231##

Story
Sean is a 7-year-old male Mini Australian Shepherd with big “main character energy.” He absolutely loves people and thrives on attention and affection. His favorite thing in the world is being with his person, he’s very interactive, engaging, and truly just wants to be your best friend. He is house trained, crate trained, leash trained, and has had extensive training. He knows basic commands like sit, down, and heel, and has very extensive (and expensive) training. He does occasionally jump up for pets, bark, or pull a bit on leash — nothing out of the ordinary, just normal dog stuff. Sean does great with people (although he has lunged at strangers/unfamiliar children that run up to him) but he really would like to be the only dog and get lots of attention. He has nipped other dogs in the household, I believe this is a pack thing and he wants to maintain his popularity status. He doesn't have any issues at the dog park.

Story
This beautiful boy is the quintessential old-fashioned dog. Petey is good natured, obedient trustworthy, affectionate and loyal. He loves to be active and also enjoys quiet time with close cuddling. He is good with other friendly dogs. He is E collar trained and will also go in a crate. Ideally, he likes to have ready access to the outdoors. His enthusiasm can be quite exuberant which settles dramatically with attention. As he is about 80 pounds, it may be better for him to be in a family with school age children. He is not destructive. His preference is to sleep in bed with his people, but is also happy anywhere. Petey is playful and trainable. I can’t speak enough of Petey and how adaptable he has been. The first year of his life was neglect, tied up outside in rural North Carolina. Despite this, his good nature has persevered. He’s not tested around cats but his obedience would leave one alone. If Petey is not a good fit, he must be returned to me.
