Story
He is an Aussie Shepherd/Great Pyrenees mix born on a farm in the county. He is house broken and knows basic commands. Junior has a heart of gold and children are his most favorite thing in the world. He would do fantastic and would thrive in a home with children of all ages and sizes. Unfortunately Junior suffered from a gun shot and had to have his back leg amputated. But that does not stop him! He will need a home with a fenced in yard or must have a property collar to prevent him from adventuring off. He does well with other dogs and does not mind cats at all. Junior will be ready for adoption in 2wks and we will be ready to accept applications on him! We would love to see Junior go to a home with children or where children are present as they are his world. If you think this handsome boy is the missing family member you have been looking for, then place an adoption today? If you would be interested in giving me a furever home, please contact The Humane Society of Adams County, Inc. at (937) 544-8585 to set up a time to come meet me and fill out an adoption application!

Story
RCHS does not conduct DNA tests on dogs who enter our facility therefore we are unable to guarantee breed or breed mix. Information provided by shelter staff, volunteers, and veterinarians is used to give a best estimate as to a dog’s breed make up. We do our best to inform adopters about the potential breeds for each dog.We are a dog only facility so we do not know how most of our dogs will be with cats. Even if a dog is surrendered to us and said to be good with cats there is no way to be sure the dog will be good with your cats. We do have a 7 day foster-to-adopt program so that you can see how the dog interacts with your cats before adoption.

Story
Skye is a 7.5 yr old small mini Australian Shepherd. I adopted her from the Milwaukee Humane Soc.I adopted her 2.5 yrs. ago. She is very gentle, shy/fearful. She has never shown aggression to any person or animal. She will retreat instead. I lived with a daughter who has a Golden Retriever and two cats. She became best buddies with the very gently Golden and ignored the cats. She has spent time with a very small kitten. Skye probably would not be good with children because they are usually very active and would not understand her shyness. She will try to avoid a man. I assume that this is because of her treatment in the past. She will potty outside when taken out either back yard or for a walk. She is also trained for puppy pads if necessary. She has some extra weight due to my inability to exercise her. She is one of the sweetest dogs I have ever been around and will make a wonderful pet for someone. I am looking for a good home for her.

Story
We bought him off of an Amish family here in Ohio about 3 years ago. However we were inexperienced with this breed and have realized he isn't a good fit for where we live. We live right next to a horse farm and he can't be let loose to run because he wants to go straight there. He also is very good with our family but acts aggressive if anyone else comes around. So there are behavioral issues that I think may be resolved with someone who knows more about this breed.
