Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Meet Wild Bill, the irresistible young Aussie mix that's a bundle of boundless energy and pure affection. This handsome guy is housebroken, does well in crowds and is a social butterfly! His person must have been a female because when he hears a woman's voice, he gets so excited as if he is still looking for them. With an endless zest for life, this pup lives for the thrill of walks and is doing very well with basic commands through the DASH Prison Training Program. Willie, as his handler calls him, has learned sit, wait, stay, leave it, down & free. He is currently working on the heel command, along with his leash walking & knowing the human is supposed to be in control. He tends to pull when he sees women or dogs. He is crate trained and has not barked while in his crate. He loves to play with other dogs but loves humans even more. His handler says "you would have a hard time finding a dog that loves people as much as he does"!!  He seeks attention, cuddles and snuggles, this love bug insists on sleeping with his beloved humans. Wild Bill is eagerly searching for his forever home, a place where his energetic spirit and un-wavering devotion can truly shine. We have found he does NOT like male dogs & has not been cat or kid tested, so proper introductions would be in order, especially with the tiny-tots, given his age & energy level. Don't miss the chance to make this lovable guy a part of your family! Apply today. If you are interested in Wild Bill, the first step in our adoption process is to submit an application on our website at www.dashanimalrescue.org.  Thank you!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 12, 2024, 10:21 pm

Story
Toby was found abandoned at a park as a puppy, but must be rehomed since current owner is moving and will not be able to take him due to unpredictable circumstances. He is fully updated on shots, is neutered and is highly food-motivated, which makes for easy training. He needs a patient owner and lots of play time and attention. Likes: Toby loves food, even kibble. High-value treats include chicken and carrots. He loves toys, especially squeaky toys, and loves to play fetch and chase. Training: Toby knows basic training/tricks. *He knows sit, stay, down, spin, crawl, quiet, drop, paws and touch. His outside word is “restroom” and release word is “free”. *He is properly crate trained and prefers to sleep in one. He needs touching up on impulse control and socialization, however. He does not resource guard, unless it comes to chews.

Story
JoviFemaleAge: 4 yearsWeight: 30 lbsBreed: Mini Australian Shepherd Hi! I’m Jovi! I am a sweet, quiet and shy lady who gets along with both dogs and cats. I especially love larger, confident, playful dogs and would really prefer a fur sibling in my forever home to make me feel more comfortable. I love being part of the pack and learning from my fellow canines! I am also great with kids as long as they are gentle. I am house trained and crate trained and amazing on a leash! One of my favorite things to do is go on walks and show off my leash skills. My foster family even says I am one of the best walkers they have ever had! Although I am crate trained, I do not need to be crated when you leave as long as I can relax on the couch with a fur sibling. I do still like having a crate available to rest in because that is where I feel safe when I want some alone time. I would really love if my new family had someone who works from home or has a flexible work schedule to spend quality time with me since I am still coming out of my shell. Prior to foster life, I spent my first few years at a puppy mill, so many things are still new to me. I will require a patient, calm and gentle family who is willing to work with me long term on building my confidence and trust. As I become more confident I am learning to like pets and cuddles. I love treats and food of any kind but hot dogs are the key to my heart. I cannot wait to find my forever home who will support my confidence journey and provide me all the love I deserve! If you are interested in meeting this sweet and smart lady apply to adopt her at: www.causeforcanines.org. Adoption fee: $350. Must be an Ohio resident and 23 or older. Children must be 5 years old or older.  ##1888330##

Story
Paging Dr. Doofensmertz. This handsome guy has become something of a celebrity around town with fans often stopping and calling him by name. Being that he is such a friendly and personable fella, he is always more than happy to stop and greet his adoring fans. Doofensmertz is particularly eager to meet other dogs and small children and may act himself silly trying to get their attention. Despite his fascination with them, his larger than life personality and belief that they all want to immediately wrestle with all 45-50 pounds of him and that can be overwhelming for smaller or more timid dogs and children. Doofensmertz also desperately wants to play with every living creature including cats or other small animals, however, they really do not prefer his go-to game of chase. Therefore, a home with smaller animals and/or children may not be the best fit for him. Doofensmertz loves to go on walks and does fairly well on the leash. He can struggle to remember not to pull when he sees someone or something that he wants to meet. He does sit nicely when asked before crossing the street. He is also fully house trained. This incredibly social guy absolutely loves to be where the family is which is why his crate is not his favorite place. He does not protest when he has to go in (unless you count his sad puppy-dog eyes) and he does sleep in it throughout the night without a peep. In addition to his incredible good looks, Doofensmertz is very intelligent 3 year old and enjoys some mental stimulation to keep his busy brain engaged and out of trouble. With that intelligence though comes the opportunity for him to learn some fun tricks with the perfect someone who is willing to put the time into the training. If Doofensmertz seems like the right fit for you, please go to www.pawpatroldayton.com/adopt. He is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, heartworm negative, and neutered. Adoption fee is $260.00. All of our animals are vaccinated, micro-chipped and spayed/neutered before being adopted.

Story
Poor Oakley has had a whole lot of bad luck in his life. He was found as a stray, but not before being hit by a car. He ended up with a fractured femur. He was picked up by Animal contro and sat in a Cell for a while before being put on the euthanasia list. We couldn’t stand to see this handsome, young guy lose his life without ever knowing how wonderful life and even humans could be, so we tagged him and brought him to Ohio to have surgery on his leg. Sadly, the first orthopedic surgeon we saw Said the break was so severe, added with the amount of time that had passed since the accident, we would need to amputate. We decided to week a second opinion and this time the doctor believed he could fix it. So we went forward with the surgery. He is 10 weeks post surgery and doing very well. He needs an adopter who will take their time with him for a short while as he continues his journey to complete healing. Oakley is working on his housetraining and does very well, but hasn’t totally mastered it yet.
