Story
💕 HALLIE 🎀 Mama Hallie is the sweetest, most affectionate girl. Now that her puppies have found their homes, it’s her turn! Hallie and her sister, Annie, were pulled from the euthanasia list at a local shelter in June. A week after they were pulled, we realized Hallie was expecting! She was the sweetest mama 🫶 Hallie is about 60lbs and about 2-3 years old. She loves going for walks, chasing squirrels in the backyard, and curling up on a bed by her foster mom’s desk. She plays wonderfully with the six other dogs in her foster home. She’s sweet, loving, and so affectionate 🥰

Story
🐾REMY🐶 Remy is a 1 year old Cur, Australian Shepherd mix that is about 40 lbs! He was found stray & terrified of humans but warmed up quicker than his foster mom ever could’ve hoped!🥰 He is very playful & acts like a puppy around the other dogs. Still a little shy and will run if he thinks you are going to catch him but he will come up to be petted or take food! Remy LOVES other dogs and plays hard, so a patient and playful pup in the home is a MUST 🐕 Remy is working on crate training and potty training, he walks fairly well on a leash & is just SO sweet. He loves toys, and his confidence is a work in progress, but we know he will be the best companion for his future family🧸 If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at http://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form PLEASE MAKE NOTE- OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN ALABAMA (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED), OUR DOGS TRANSPORT TO THEIR NEW FAMILIES IN PENNSYLVANIA AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Darby   Lefty aka "Lulu" is a young Pomeranian mix puppy looking for her forever home. You may have noticed her front left leg doesnt look like her right leg but that doesnt stop her from taking on the world. The xrays show she was born without a bone in her leg which caused it to fold up on itself. The vet informed us she does not need it amputated and there is no general surgery to "fix" it. She is proving to be a pleasant little lap dog who loves to be loved on. Her confidence has blossomed since coming into rescue. She loves to play with toys, her favorite toy being a ball. She is working on commands such as "fetch" and is doing amazing. She is currently being fostered with cats and dogs of all sizes and is doing great with all of them. She is working on house training with the help of puppy pads and also leash training. Please apply to adopt Lefty at www.onedogatatime.us .  Please note: Lefty will not be the size of a typical Pomeranian. We do not know what her mix is, as her mom was found stray and pregnant. At her age now, she is over 10lbs.    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 29, 2024, 4:04 pm

Story
At the Beginning of December 2023, we had 12 dogs surrendered to the shelter after their owner had passed away. This group of pups lived their whole lives in barn stalls until they arrived at the shelter. They were all dirty and very scared when they arrived. They all needed some time to learn that the outside world is not as scary as it seems, and they have all made leaps and bounds adjusting to shelter life. These guys as far as we know, have never lived in a house and will need time to adjust to one. They will need homes that have the patience to work with them with new situations and help them blossom! They are all really sweet pups with the potential to be wonderful companions! Denali is the most senior of the group at 8 years old (not that you can tell!) he is an active guy that loves to go for walks and play in the play yard! He is one of the more outgoing of the group. He adjusted to his new living situation quicker than some of his barn companions. He loves attention and loves to be with you! He will need someone that understands that he will need regular grooming to keep his coat from getting matted. He did well getting baths here at the shelter and enjoyed getting a "spa" day! Denali has would love to find his loving forever home soon! Denali must meet all family members that reside in the home. He has been neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, Heartworm/Lyme tested, and microchipped since his arrival at the shelter.Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter5051 Letterkenny Road WestChambersburg, PA 17201Kennel License# 2090
