Story
Spartan was running with a large group of Border Collies that were dumped. He was the last one to be rescued as he was shy and very elusive, he was eventually trapped and brought into the shelter. When he arrived, he was very shy and unsure of the shelter environment but has flourished with time and a little extra TLC. He loves to go on walks and loves to be with you! Spartan is a gentle guy that will need someone that understands that he may not be the bravest dog, but he will certainly be your best friend no matter what! Spartan did test positive for lyme and anaplasmosis that come from tick bites. He also tested positive for Hepatozoonosis americanum which is a tick bourne disease that comes from consuming affected ticks. He has been treated for the Lyme and Anaplasmosis and has been given initial treatment for the Hepatozoonosis americanum. However, Hepatozoonosis americanum is unfortunately something he will have for the rest of his life, but it can be managed. Spartan will need a home that understands that he will need regular veterinary care and are able to provide him with it, especially when he has a flare up. Spartan is hoping to find his loving forever home where he will not have to worry about being left behind ever again! Spartan must meet all members of the family that reside in the home. He has been neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, Heartworm/Lyme tested, and microchipped since his arrival at the shelter. Story
Name: Rebel Age: 11 months Breed: Border Collie mix Size: 45 lbs Adoption Application: https://forms.gle/nuKXoMu6gjS5DhFm8 Contact: transport@hssm.org Rebel is an 11-month-old Border Collie mix with energy to spare and a personality that’s as big as his zoomies. Rebel was an owner surrender due to his owner being older and not being able to handle him being such an active dog. True to his name, he’s always ready for action—whether that’s chasing a ball, learning a new trick, or turning the yard into his personal playground. Smart and alert, Rebel thrives when his mind and body stay busy. Rebel will do very well with people who understand his breed and can give him ways to exert all of his expendable energy. He is the type of dog that would do well with a job. This bright young pup would love a home that enjoys an active lifestyle and can keep up with his enthusiasm for adventure. Border Collie mixes are known for their intelligence, and Rebel is no exception—he’s eager to learn and ready to impress with the right guidance and positive training. Rebel is still growing into the amazing dog he’s meant to be and would shine with a family ready to channel his energy into fun, learning, and plenty of playtime. Reble already knows basic commands and would definitely be able to learn more advanced commands. If you’re looking for a lively sidekick who will keep life exciting, Rebel is ready to lead the charge. 🐾 Rebel's $300 adoption fee includes spay/neuter, up to date vaccines, microchip AND transport fee to a location near you. We currently have transportation to CT, MD, NJ, NY, PA, VA, GA, and TN. Please email transport@hssm.org for more information on transports! --> If you are interested in adopting Rebel please fill out our online application here: (https://forms.gle/nuKXoMu6gjS5DhFm8 - Dog). A staff member will reach out if your application is approved to discuss the adoption process. No fenced in yard required, and YES - we adopt to families with children! The adoption will not be final until the adoption contract is discussed and signed. Transports are arranged for specific dates, typically within 1-3 weeks of approving your application. Adopters will meet at a designated meeting spot to pick up their new companions. For further information, please first fill out the application referenced above. **Due to import regulations we are not able to adopt to MA or RI residents at this time.
