Story
Cowboy is a smart, active, and loyal 4-year-old Australian Shepherd looking for his perfect home. He loves fetch, walks, and would thrive with an active owner and a big fenced yard. It breaks my heart to rehome him, but Cowboy isn’t a fit for a home with young children. He has shown discomfort around kids and has a history of nipping, so he’ll do best in an adults-only household or with older, respectful teens. Cowboy prefers to meet new people and dogs on his own terms—he’s not instantly friendly if approached directly, but once he warms up he’s loving and playful. Cowboy is due for his yearly vaccinations but is otherwise healthy and ready for his next adventure. With the right home, he’ll give back loyalty, fun, and plenty of love.

Story
Max is a purebred Australian Shepherd, approximately 18 months old. He is neutered, microchipped and up to date on shots. We adopted Max one year ago as a companion for our other dog. We got him when he was 6mo old from a young couple who were rehoming him due to relocating. We love Max very much, and he is the sweetest, most loving boy! We are sad to let him go, but in the last year, I have realized that he needs more dedicated personal attention and space than I can give him. I am a single parent of 3, I work full-time as well as 2 side part-time jobs. My home conducive to his size and energy level. Max is a working dog and needs to have lots of interaction and personal attention to thrive. He is high energy, loves other dogs, people and kids. He is eager to please and very smart. Has been trained, but I have not kept up with it consistently and he will need refreshing. Behavior issues are mainly jumping/chewing - typical puppy behavior fixed with time/training.

Story
Meet Maple! 🍁 This sweet girl is as loving as they come. She adores playing with rope toys and had a blast running around before coming inside. Maple is great with other dogs and has several play buddies here at the shelter. She’s an obedient girl who’s eager to do anything by your side. While she does pull a bit on the leash, she responds really well to gentle corrections and is quick to learn. Maple would do best in a home that can handle her medium energy and give her plenty of playtime and attention. Come meet her!

Story
We originally bought Leo with his sister Camilla around 3 years ago when they were just tiny puppies. Leo is around 3 years old and is sweet and kind with other dogs. He is a very energetic boy, he absolutely loves to just RUN. Unfortunately, We are having to move due to our current housing situation becoming unlivable. We are looking for someone who preferably has a lot of space for him to run. Maybe someone with a farm, or even and huge fenced in acre where he can be free. He’s not aggressive with any type of other animals. Well behaved and listens real well. We don’t want to rehome him as he has been with us a long time, but we feel as though he deserves more and unfortunately at the moment we can’t give him that. Please only serious inquiries only. P.s he’s a really good hugger and will a family really happy

This is a courtesy post. Please do not contact Heart of the Foothills Animal Rescue for information. Contact information is provided below.Jetta is a 4-year-old Australian Shepherd (cryptic merle with white markings). She is spayed, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. She is also AKC and ASCA registered and up-to-date on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.Like many Aussis, Jetta is energetic and would need to have a fenced-in yard to run, play, and be contained. Jetta does not get along with other dogs (unsure about cats), so she would need to be the only pet in the home. Jetta has a very sweet personality and loves to be with her person - or people - but does not do well with children or strangers. In the evenings, Jetta loves to snuggle with her people on the couch.Jetta is a smart dog and knows basic obedience. She has worked with a couple of trainers over the last few years. Jetta is housetrained and views her crate as a safe place when she is not interacting with her people. She loves food/treats, attention, and playing with her toys. Jetta also enjoys walks and hikes, but may need to be muzzled due to her reactivity. She is very protective of her home and would make an excellent watch dog.The owner is surrendering her because she needs a home without any other dogs or children. Veterinarian or personal references are required. There is a rehoming fee. If you are interested in Jetta, please email angelkking@gmail.com or contact Angel at 828-429-7373.

Story
Pax is a loyal and intelligent boy who loves to be where his humans are and keep track of them. He is a little on the shy side but still friendly at first and beyond loyal once he bonds with you. He is a playful guy who loves to play fetch and go on long walks and does great on his harness leash. Pax would do well in a crate (at night or while you`re out running errands) while he`s getting use to your day-to-day routine. He is a quick learner and very treat motivated.

Story
Oliver is a working-class legend with a heart of gold and a motor that never quits. He’s ready to herd his way right into your family—no sheep required (but maybe a few squeaky toys). He’s all about play yard time, furbaby friendships, and being loved on like the good boy he is. Vehicles and chickens? Not his vibe. But with a little training and a lot of love, Oliver’s focus and drive become pure magic. Give him a job, and he’s all in—joyful, determined, and fueled by purpose. To Oliver, no task is too big, and no day is complete without a little work and a lot of heart. If you’re looking for a loyal partner with soul-deep energy and a nose for adventure, Oliver’s your guy.
