Story
Sweet Ruby Rose is ready to find that human family to keep her active! She loves to hike, walk, run, whatever fun she can have but she does need activity. Her mom is a miniature Australian Shepherd. Her dad or dads are unknown. She is super sweet and loves everyone she meets. She is nine months old, a good size at around 38 pounds and her color is gorgeous. If you think she could be the girl for you, please continue to read our recommendations and procedures and fill out our on line application. RECOMMENDATIONS & PROCEDURES Please note, the following are recommendations for puppies and different breeds of dogs. We will evaluate each application on an individual basis to see what is best for the dog/puppy and the potential adopter. Puppies are very fragile and not toys. We recommend children be at least six years old to be considered to adopt a puppy. Small breed dogs ( such as chihuahuas, yorkies, shih tzus , etc) we recommend children be at least eight years old. Herding, working breeds we recommend children to be at least 12 years old. Again these are recommendations. Adoption Procedures: We will travel up to two hours ( one way) to do physical home visits and we do not do virtual home visits. ( we are in Cleveland County NC) Most of our dogs come from bad situations and we want to know where their forever home is going to be. While we do not require fencing on all dogs, certain dogs that need a fenced in yard, will not be adopted unless potential adopter has one. We also adopt some dogs to people who live in apartments ( as long as the landlord approves) but not all dogs. We do not adopt to anyone under 21 years of age. We also do not feel college students are the best fit for most of our dogs. Most of our dogs again, come from bad situations and need lots of attention. Most college students have financial responsibilities and we feel need to be focused on school. Our goal is to match the dog with a family that fits the dog’s needs. We are solely focused on what is best for each dog in our rescue. These dogs have had enough moving around, dumped out like trash, and we want to ensure they find their forever home. We do require you sign a contract and if at any time you cannot continue to provide for the dog, the dog comes back to the rescue. Your first step to adoption is filling our our on line application. You will then get an automated email stating we got your application Next our adoption coordinator will be in touch either by phone or email If your references check out, a home visit will be scheduled. After the home visit is done, a meet and greet with the dog you are interested in and/or any other available dogs we have will be scheduled If the dog and you are a match, contract will be signed and you may take your new family member home. Story
Lottie is a 5 year old Female Australian Cattle Dog and Australian Shepherd mix. She is very high energy and loves to get out and run, hike, and play with other dogs! She got along great with our older male lab before he passed a few years ago and she is great with our two cats. Unfortunately, due to our work schedules and growing family, we need to re-home this great and loving girl to the right family. One that can give her the necessary attention and level of activity that will help her truly thrive. Lottie is a very high energy, working breed that has a lot of stamina to burn. Ideally, her next family will have to have an active lifestyle and/or ample opportunity to spend time outdoors! She is great with other pets in the house but she cannot be in a home with children. Our #1 priority is finding Lottie the best possible home. We will require in-person meetings and significant vetting before we agree to re-home our girl and are not in a rush to do so.

I am a good girl. I love to go for runs. I am house trained and crate trained. I am leash trained but I do better with a harness cause I love to run and play. I am treat motivated. I know basic commands like sit. I love belly rubs. I am looking for a home with someone who will take me with them to go jogging or running. I would love to have a big back yard fenced in so I could run and play all day if you let me. I am up to date on all shots and medical. If your interested in making me a part of your family. Story
Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   Date into Rescue: 9/9/2020 Reason for being in rescue: Aubon arrived in rescue as part of a feral colony Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Aubon is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and heartworm negative. Weight: 32 lbs Height: 18 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $200 Fence needed? Absolutely yes! What kind of home would be best for me? Aubon is a beautiful project. He has only known life as part of a feral colony and then in rescue. Everything you teach him will be new. Aubon requires an experienced owner, ideally with experience with under socialized dogs. He absolutely must have another calm but confident dog to learn from and model behavior after. Aubon is fine with dogs of all sizes and with cats. He is not suited for a home with children. Aubon will take time and patience and lots of positive reinforcement training. What is my personality like? Aubon came from a feral colony. He had never lived inside, never been part of a routine, and knew nothing other than being part of a pack of dogs. With a lot of time and dedication from caring caregivers this boy has come a LONG way. You can tell when interacting with him that behind those beautiful eyes there is a lot of thoughts and intelligence. Aubon is a dog that has been hand fed by multiple caregivers for months now to help him realize that humans aren't that bad and that he can learn to trust them. He needs a very experienced owner with knowledge on positive dog training. He needs stable routine in his life to thrive. He has this here at the rescue and changing his environment completely by going into a home he may take some steps backwards in progress, but with time in a patient home dedicated to his success he will come around. Aubon is very food motivated which is great for his training and leash walking is coming along quite nicely. He is a very gentle boy that is curious and eager to please. Everything you teach him will be new, but he will absolutely reward you with his loyalty and love! How do I act when I first meet new people? Shy but curious Other tips and tidbits: Aubon arrived as part of a feral colony, for whom the owners had very little information on the dogs. He is estimated at 18 months old, but this is a guess based on his overall health and condition. We celebrate his birthday as 10/31/2020. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.   To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR. June 2, 2023, 2:42 pm

Carolina Poodle Rescue pulled her from the shelter. Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Macey was spayed and had a dental on 2/25/21. She is up to date on all vaccines and heartworm negative. She also had a dew claw removed on 2/24/21. Weight: 35 lbs Height: 20 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $200 Fence needed? Yes What kind of home would be best for me? Macey lived with her breeder for five years prior to arriving in rescue in February 2021. She is great with other dogs and requires a home with at least one other medium or large confident dog for companionship. She has worked really hard on learning to trust humans and is looking for a low key environment. She is not for a home with young children. Macey has learned what home life is all about after moving in with her foster mom in February 2023. She took about 3 days to settle into a routine and immediately made friends with the 4 dogs and ignores the 3 cats. She is no longer leash shy and has never messed in the house. She sees her crate as her safe spot but is also comfortable when not in it. Macey loves being outdoors, walks in the woods, wading in streams, and car rides. She gets so excited when getting leashed up - lots of smiles and tail wagging. She is a little timid at first when introduced to new experiences and resists going into unfamiliar buildings. Macey is continuing to learn basic commands and would benefit from additional training to build her confidence. Her previous hand feeding in rescue has taught her to have a very gentle mouth. Macey is a quiet, beautiful gal with the softest ears. Macey is crate trained and does not require someone at home during the day, but does need an occasional break. She is an all-around great dog looking for a home that knows it will take a little time to earn her trust and has another dog or dogs for companionship. What is my personality like? Macey is a shy girl but warms up to both men and women. Removed from her breeder by animal control, we are unsure how much (if any) socialization she had prior to arriving in rescue. Not surprisingly, Macey adores dogs and loves to play with canine companions. She is intrigued by people and always so excited to see her caregivers, but sometimes wary. You can tell this beautiful girl with the heart of gold is eager to build trust and be loved as a companion. Macey plays well in her play groups at the rescue. She is always the first one out and one of the last ones in on sunny days. Macey adores food and has no aggression at all toward her food. Macey has a lot of potential and has come a long way since being in rescue. She is very food motivated so that will make training easier in addition to her just being naturally smart. Her leash walking is good but she does still tend to try to back out if she thinks things are moving too fast and she gets scared. Her caregivers have committed to hand feeding her her food and that has worked wonders in teaching her humans are friends and to gain her trust. Though shy she is a super sweet girl looking for a home dedicated to her and looking for that rewarding experience of gaining the trust and love of a dog that needs them. It has been said that the best gifts are worth the wait. Beautiful Macey will be so worth the effort to earn her trust and teach her to love! How do I act when I first meet new people? Shy but curious Other tips and tidbits: Macey's estimated birthday is 2/19/2016 House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
