Story
Thanks to a generous donor, my adoption fee has been reduced to $40 Lazlo – a sweet soul who needs a special kind of love. Lazlo is a 1.5-year-old neutered male Australian Shepherd mix with a friendly, fun-loving personality. He arrived at the shelter as a stray and quickly stole everyone’s heart with his love for treats, gentle walks, and affection from people. Sadly, Lazlo is battling heartworm disease. He’s currently undergoing treatment, which has been generously covered in part by the shelter and friendsofcpcanimals.org. But he needs a very calm, quiet environment to recover safely — too much movement or excitement could be dangerous for him right now. Lazlo must be the only pet in the home, and he would thrive with someone who can give him the time, patience, and love he needs to heal. He enjoys being petted, spoiled, and spending quality time with his people. While most of his treatment has been covered, there could still be additional expenses. If you have questions, please reach out to the shelter manager for more information. Good with Dogs: No Good with Kids: May do well with older children Good with Cats: No Good with chickens/livestock: Unknown Energy Level: High Training Needed: Basic commands Kennel Behavior: Active Housetrained: No

Story
This dog is in Tennessee. Adoption Donation $200 if picked up in TN, $275 plus transport fee for out-of-state adoptions. If you’re looking for a calm, loving, and endlessly sweet companion, meet Banjo, a gentle 7-year-old Aussie / Sheltie/mystery mix who will steal your heart the moment you meet him. Weighing in at about 40 pounds, Banjo is the kind of dog who radiates peaceful energy and contentment. He’s just as happy lounging beside you on the couch for belly rubs as he is basking in the sunshine, quietly watching the world go by. Banjo is one of the easiest foster dogs his caregiver has ever had. He’s completely house trained, knows basic commands like come, sit, and stay, and politely lets you know when he needs to go outside by sitting quietly at the door. He doesn’t need a crate—he’s non-destructive, mellow, and perfectly trustworthy when left alone. He walks beautifully on a leash and rides like a pro in the car, making him a great companion for weekend drives or quiet neighborhood strolls. While Banjo enjoys a little activity, he has a low to medium energy level and thrives in a calm environment. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and cats, and his sweet, easygoing personality makes him a great match for a variety of home types. He doesn’t ask for much—just a cozy spot on the couch, a sunny place to relax, and a human or two to share gentle affection. Banjo has made a full recovery from a previous tick-borne illness and heartworm treatment, and he’s ready to start the next chapter of his life with a loving family. He’ll need monthly heartworm prevention, but other than that, he’s as healthy and happy as can be. The perfect home for Banjo would be one with a relaxed pace—perhaps a retired couple, someone who works from home, or a family who enjoys quiet evenings and leisurely walks. If you’re searching for a best friend who will be by your side without needing constant activity, Banjo is your guy. He’s all heart, all love, and 100% ready to be someone’s loyal companion for life.  Interested in adopting? All canines over the age of 6 months have been tested for heartworm. All canines are put on heartworm prevention as soon as possible - this means dogs as soon as they are tested negative. Puppies are put on prevention immediately. All felines, regardless of age, have been tested for Feline Leukemia/FIV. Each animal receives a health check by a licensed veterinarian prior to adoption. Story
This dog is in Tennessee. Adoption Donation $200 if picked up in TN, $275 plus transport fee for out-of-state adoptions. Meet Dino, a high-energy, wiggly, and eager-to-please Australian Shepherd mix with a sleek black coat. At just over a year old and weighing 50 lbs, he's always ready for fun and affection. His whole body wiggles with excitement, right down to his little nub tail, and he absolutely loves flopping over for belly rubs. He knows how to sit and will go into his crate for a treat. Being food-motivated, he’s eager to learn more commands. Housetrained, he does well with both a fenced yard and leash walks. While he doesn’t love the crate, he settles in and sleeps when needed. Dino enjoys playing fetch, running with other dogs, and getting as much attention and petting as possible. He prefers not to be left alone but simply expresses this by barking. He has a big, loud bark and he does like to talk at times. He also has a happy voice when he's excited and getting belly rubs. Dino gets along well with other dogs, is polite to cats, and has been reported to do well with kids. He takes a few minutes to warm up to new people, but quickly becomes a lovebug. On leash, he’s still learning manners but enjoys his walks. He rides fine in the car but may need a little help getting in. Dino would thrive in an active home where he gets plenty of exercise and, ideally, has a dog friend to play with. Interested in bringing Dino into your heart and home? Story
Meet Roxy, a fun-loving, playful bundle of energy who’s always ready for an adventure! Roxy is the type of dog who thrives on playtime, and she’s never met a squeaky toy she didn’t love. Stuffed squeaky toys are her absolute favorite, and she can happily entertain herself for hours, squeaking and playing without ever destroying them—she’s a toy enthusiast who knows how to treat her toys with care! With all that energy, Roxy would do best in an active home where she can get plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, and playtime. She was previously housetrained, but has been in the shelter for a while now, so she may need a refresher on the rules once she is adopted. Roxy will need a home with NO cats. She is dog selective, but has gotten along well with certain dogs while at the shelter. A meeting is recommended prior to adopting if there is another dog in the home. She may do best with a more submissive dog. If you’re looking for a high-energy, fun-loving dog who’s always ready to play, lead the pack, and be your loyal companion, Roxy could be the perfect fit for you! She’s ready to find a home where she can continue to be her joyful, playful self and bring tons of fun and love into your life.
