This dog is in Tennessee. Adoption Donation $200 if picked up in TN, $275 plus transport fee for out-of-state adoptions. Weighing in at about 40 pounds, Banjo is the kind of dog who radiates peaceful energy and contentment. He’s just as happy lounging beside you on the couch for belly rubs as he is basking in the sunshine, quietly watching the world go by. Banjo is one of the easiest foster dogs his caregiver has ever had. He’s completely house trained, knows basic commands like come, sit, and stay, and politely lets you know when he needs to go outside by sitting quietly at the door. He doesn’t need a crate—he’s non-destructive, mellow, and perfectly trustworthy when left alone. He walks beautifully on a leash and rides like a pro in the car, making him a great companion for weekend drives or quiet neighborhood strolls. While Banjo enjoys a little activity, he has a low to medium energy level and thrives in a calm environment. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and cats, and his sweet, easygoing personality makes him a great match for a variety of home types. Banjo has made a full recovery from a previous tick-borne illness and heartworm treatment, and he’s ready to start the next chapter of his life with a loving family. He’ll need monthly heartworm prevention, but other than that, he’s as healthy and happy as can be. Prior to adoption, all canines and felines are spayed or neutered, have received their age appropriate vaccinations, have been de-wormed for common parasites, and have received treatment for prevention of fleas and ticks. All canines over the age of 6 months have been tested for heartworm. All canines are put on heartworm prevention as soon as possible - this means dogs as soon as they are tested negative. Puppies are put on prevention immediately. All felines, regardless of age, have been tested for Feline Leukemia/FIV. Each animal receives a health check by a licensed veterinarian prior to adoption.
