Story
Marmaduke is a big goofy lovebug! He adores children and other dogs. He is very curious about cats and chickens and is probably best in a home without those (or where he can be separated from them). He is only about 1 year old and has been in rescue all his life. He had a medical issue as a puppy that required surgery and he is completely healed from that. He will do best in a home with a secure fenced yard, another dog or dogs to play with that are not tiny since he's so big, and respectful animal-loving children that will love him as much as he loves them. If you are interested in Marmaduke, please fill out an application at our website: forrescue.net He is fostered in the Huntsville, AL area and could be available for transport but transport fees are on top of the adoption fee.

Story
This sweet Australian shepherd mix may be heartworm positive, but don’t let that scare you away. Heartworm is treatable, and with proper care, love, and a little patience, dogs like Ranger go on to live long, happy, tail-wagging lives. While not much is known about Ranger since he was a stray pickup, what I have learned during his time in foster is that he is a kind and gentle soul, a true gem of an Australian shepherd. He is calmer than most but enjoys a good walk. He is housetrained, learning commands and in his foster home he lives with cats and another dog. He will come to you for pets and fully enjoys having his ears scratched. He is crate trained and sleeps in his all night with no issues. He rarely barks. On walks he has been exposed to traffic, other dogs, random loud noises, charging dogs, ducks, geese and people. He just walks on with no concern. He does like to approach people and sit for pets though. The vet feels he is not yet two years old, and he weighs in at 51 pounds. He will be neutered soon and has all his vaccines. Ranger is available for foster to adopt while he goes through his heartworm treatment.

Story
Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Waynesville, NC *This dog doesn’t belong to ASF and hasn’t been evaluated by ASF.* Meet Oliver Hamish! He is an 5 year old Australian Shepherd and weighs 55 lbs. He is neutered, up to date on shots, and on heartworm prevention. Oliver Hamish is good with older children! No younger children, because they make him nervous. He is good with the other dogs inside of the home, but is nervous around dogs outside of the home. He has bitten 3 times when someone was around his food. He has food aggression. The owner is surrendering him because of the bite incidents. They are also unable to provide the time and attention that he needs. He needs to go ASAP! If you think you can provide a great home for Oliver Hamish, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Oliver Hamish. Story
Lucy turns 3 on July 2nd 2026! She is a bright light filled with energy and joy! She’s a happy girl who is faithful and protective over her people. When meeting somebody new, she’s a barker, but the moment she familiarizes herself with the individual, they’re her new best friend for life. She loves to play fetch, go on hikes/walks, play with other dogs (and cats), and loves being the center of attention. An ideal family for her would be one that can actively meet her needs- a big one being exercise, and if you have land and another dog for her to play with that would be a plus! She’s been through obedience training and knows how to sit, lay, shake and spin. She is very dear to our family but with a newborn on the way we just don’t think we can offer her the life she deserves so with heaviness in our hearts we are hoping to find her the right family that she can thrive with. :)
