11-month-old Australian Shepherd/Heeler mix. He is a very smart, sweet, friendly, playful, and lovable dog. He loves being around people and has been great with kids and our cat.He knows sit, stay, leave it, and come, and he has a lot of potential to continue learning with consistent training. He is potty trained, neutered, up to date on shots, and current on worming and flea/tick medication.We are needing to rehome him because, as much as we love him, we cannot provide the freedom and care he needs. He has a strong herding instinct and chases our chickens and cows. We had hoped that a GPS collar would be the answer to his need for boundaries, but we have not been able to make it work reliably. We also aren’t home enough to give him the freedom, exercise, and attention we wish we could.We believe he would do best with a fenced yard or plenty of space to run and play, or with an active owner wh

Cosmo’s original owner had him surrendered to a rescue due to multiple felony animal abuse charges against him because of how he treated Cosmo. We fostered Cosmo when he was a year and an half old. We adopted about a year later because we wanted to make sure he got a life filled with love.Cosmo is playful, affectionate, and loves belly rubs. He’s fine with cats. Would prefer to be the only dog. And doesn’t like children. Hate boxes. Definitely an inside dog. He’s never bitten anyone. However, he has severe fear-based stranger aggression and body sensitivity. Only barks, growls and, if trigged via petting his head or shoulders, air-snapping. But never at his owners. He actually loves head scratches.We love him deeply and always intended for him to live out his life with us, but we know we cannot safely mix his triggers with an upcoming miracle baby. Plus because he is highly reactive to strangers, standard shelters are not a safe or humane option.

Sadie was a stray who showed up at our fence, scared and hungry. After finally gaining her trust, she was very comfortable coming inside the house, and she was already house-trained. She’s such a sweet and loyal girl and very smart. We’ve been teaching her to walk on a leash. She’s got some separation anxiety. She needs someone who can exercise her and do some training with her. She likes playing with our indoor cats, and she’s good with other dogs. She’s great riding in a car once you get her in the car. We’re working on that, too. She is scheduled to be spayed in one week. She is up to date on her shots and heartworm negative. She is also up to date on her flea, tick and parasite prevention. She weighs 39 pounds and is lean. The vet says she is 12-18 months old. A new $200 crate comes with her. She’s a great dog! We can’t keep her because we are an elderly couple.
