Story
Lilly is a beautiful, young female Australian Shepherd. She is a black tri with gorgeous blue eyes. She is about 3years old and weighs 40 pounds. Lilly had a litter of adorable pups, but she has recently been spayed. Lilly's personality has quickly emerged the last couple weeks, and she is very energetic and playful. She has mastered the art of both chasing a ball AND returning it! She even conveniently drops it close by (to speed up the time until you fling it away again!) Lilly has shown no interest in chewing or gnawing on family belongings or furniture, but she loves to curl up on the floor or on a cushion right by your feet. Lilly eats well, sleeps well, and is an amazingly fast learner. She is coming along great with learning sit and shake and has made good progress in leash-walking. She is reactive on leash and will need continued training to overcome this. Lilly enjoys being with people and is eager to accompany you anywhere. She goes in a crate nicely with a treat and has been well-behaved when staying overnight in a crate.Lilly loves to be close to you, but she is also good about laying quietly nearby and giving space when you are occupied. NEEDS TO BE THE ONLY DOG -->>> Lilly has a more dominant, alpha female personality, and she would do best as the only dog in the family. Most of all, she is thrilled to be outdoors and would be phenomenal at any dog sport from agility to frisbee to flyball--she has the zip, speed, and enthusiasm to conquer any activity that you want to enjoy with her! Lilly was kept as a backyard breeding dog and as such will need continued training on leash, basic commands, controlling impulses and socialization. She absolutely LOVES LOVES LOVES people and is happiest spending her time with her foster humans! Spend some time with Lilly, and her bright and fun-loving nature will win your heart! Lilly is being fostered in Richmond, VA. If you think Lilly is the girl for you, please submit our adoption application at the link below! https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption... There is one additional fees: $20 microchip transfer fee to register and transfer her to her new furever family

Story
Hello, I’m Tatum! I’m a 1 ½ year old Australian Shepherd with a personality as big as my heart…and appetite. I’m on the smaller side of standard around 40lbs. When I am not busy running at mach 1 speed, I’m busy winning over your heart with my soulful eyes and a tail that wags more than a windshield wiper in the rain. I am a typical velcro dog so expect me to always be by your side. I absolutely love belly rubs and come with a set of commands that I already know, such as sit, paw and lie down, which always winds up with me demanding belly rubs. Did I mention that I love long walks anywhere and riding with you in the car? Like Hootie said, “I only wanna be with you!” While I must admit that I look quite stunning, do not let this cute face fool you. I need daily stimulation from my human, no matter the weather or time of day. It takes A LOT to wear me out, so a fenced yard is a must. I would love to work on a farm or get involved in dog sports like agility, flyball or dock diving. I prefer women, as men can be scary sometimes, which may elicit me to bark and growl at them, especially if they are standing. I have not shown any aggression toward men, I am just afraid. Any man in my life will need to commit to working with me and possibly seeking a trainer. I was adopted but returned when I began to guard my female adopter from my male adopter. I also prefer female dogs better but need slow and controlled introductions to any dogs. I like friends to play with but need to make sure that our personalities fit well together, so a meet and greet with all family members (human and dog) would be best! Finally, I do have some separation anxiety and can be frightened by loud noises and when I must go to the vet. I will need continued training to be the best boy that I can be. If given the opportunity, resources and a little bit of patience, I can be a very good boy and your best friend! I hope to soon find my furever home where I can be your constant companion. I have so much love to give! I am being fostered in Richmond, VA, but really need a new foster or adopter. (My current foster had to move into a smaller home & yard and 4 dogs is just too much.) Here is the application: australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to his new furever family.

Story
We are in need of rehoming our 10-year old Australian Shepherd with special needs due to severe anxiety. He is a very sweet, loving, loyal dog with no health or behavior problems at all other than he is very reactive to strangers and other dogs when he is with us. However, he does fine with the groomer, vet, and boarding kennel, other than needing medication for anxiety. He would be very happy with an owner who is an experienced trainer and can provide him plenty of exercise. I work full-time while my husband is retired and has Alzheimer’s. We’ve had to move to an apartment recently and have been required to remove him due to other resident complaints about barking at them while we are walking him. We only have until December 12 and are very worried. Please let us know if you can help.

Story
A Message From Boone — Your Milk-Chocolate Tennessee Boy   Hi there, I’m Boone! I was born on July 4th in a little rural Tennessee town, and my foster mom says I’m as “sweet as milk chocolate” thanks to my Lab momma (a gorgeous dark chocolate girl) and my Australian Shepherd daddy. Somehow, I ended up looking like the best mix of both—soft, sweet, and full of love.  I’m still a little guy at about 15 pounds, but I’m making up for lost time. Before coming to my foster home, I didn’t have much room to grow or explore—I spent my early life mostly in a tub and then a crate and really didn't have enough food to nourish my growing puppy body. Now that I have space to run, play, learn, and be a well-fed and loved puppy, I’m soaking it all in. Foster mom says watching me discover the world has been one of her favorite things. As I grow, I’ll likely reach around 50 pounds, with long, soft fur that will be absolutely beautiful once I’m fully grown. Right now, I’m focusing on good food, building healthy muscles, and learning what love and attention really feel like—and oh boy, do I love it.    My dream home?A family that has time to show me how great life can be. A fenced yard to zoom around in, and maybe some kids to grow up with. Another dog would be amazing—I am learning lots from the adult dogs here in my foster home.  I would love to have parents who love training a smart pup  like me and because I am smart. I really do want to learn everything I can. I’ve started crate training, and I’m doing great with that. Leashes are still a bit confusing, but my foster mom says I’m trying so hard, and with gentle teaching I’ll soon realize walks are one of life’s best adventures.   I’ll be ready to go home beginning December 12th—just in time to curl up under someone’s Christmas tree and wait for Santa with my new family. My foster parents take wonderful care of me, but I know my real home is out there. I’m hoping my next car ride will be the one that takes me to my forever family—the one who will treat me like their little prince. If that sounds like you, please reach out to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com. I’ve got Christmas kisses ready and waiting.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comDecember 11, 2025, 7:13 pm

Story
Meet Miss Kitty – A Heart Ready to Bloom   Miss Kitty’s story is one of transformation, hope, and quiet bravery. This stunning 2-year-old Aussie mix (around 70 lbs) was once part of a large group of neglected dogs—left without love, attention, or hugs daily.  The days of indifference from humans are long behind her. With the help of a kind foster home, Miss Kitty has discovered the beauty of human kindness, human touch and now she’s ready to find a forever family of her own.  In just two months, she’s blossomed from a shy, uncertain girl into a dog who seeks out affection and enjoys the company of people—especially children, who she now happily follows with her tail wagging. She’s gentle with dogs of all sizes and loves running and playing with her friends in open spaces. Cats are still a mystery to her, but she’s learned to coexist respectfully.Miss Kitty is still gaining confidence with new experiences—like walking on a leash and spending time indoors—but her courage grows every day. She’s curious, sweet, and has a heart that’s learning to trust completely. With a little patience and a lot of love, this beautiful girl will reward her forever family with endless devotion and loyalty. If you’re looking to make a difference in a dog’s life and watch a soul truly bloom, Miss Kitty is waiting for you.  Contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com to meet Miss Kitty today!   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comNovember 18, 2025, 4:58 pm

Story
Izzy is a beautiful 4 year old, 55 pound Australian Shepherd beauty with a quiet, loving soul and a heart shaped by both deep love and loss. Once owned by a lovely woman who made Izzy the center of her world, our girl Izzy lost this wonderful owner 2 years ago to cancer.  A kind neighbor took care of Izzy and another dog while they lived in the now vacant home of her deceased owner.  Izzy was maintained in a very isolated and limited world of that house.  She was fed and given a few pets daily and fresh water.  Izzy's life changed forever 2 years ago in a way she couldn't understand.  The mortgage was paid on the house for those 2 years and now it has been sold and Izzy must leave immediately and by December 20th.  The clock is ticking for her life once again.  Change is about to come.  Through this all Izzy has maintained her gentle nature with a sweet, calm and afffectionate softness still showing through in her personality.  She never asks for much but offers steady companionship and devotion once she feels secure. She has lived well with other dogs and around farm animals, showing her easygoing and adaptable personality.  Izzy enjoys simple pleasures: riding quietly in the car, curling up on a couch, and being pampered with the occasional grooming session. What she wants most is a calm, consistent home and a person to call her own — someone who will let her take life at her own pace and remind her that she’s cherished. Izzy is ready for a new chapter — one filled with comfort, routine, and the kind of love that lasts forever. She has so much tenderness to give and is patiently waiting for the home where she can finally settle in and belong.  Can you foster Izzy or even better offer her a forever resting place to lay her head and to offer you her unconditional love?  Please hurry and contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com The Christmas rush is here but Izzy's life is not just about opening presents under the tree, but opening a new chapter in her life that has stability and a promise of deep love.       PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comDecember 15, 2025, 10:41 pm
