Good with dogs, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
She would be a good companion and needs to be a companion.. She likes to meet people and likes ‘regulars’, but does not like to be petted by strangers. She does like her nap time and some me time. She learned to play ‘fetch’ in a day & 1/2. She does it to be with you, not just 'fetch'. Very intelligent, she thinks! So gentle & does not scratch or bite. Highly trainable for who truly cares for her & maybe could be leash trained. She was bred to a hunter, so a home with a bird would be a mistake. She is more loving than affectionate, & she needs someone to be ‘hers’. She does not like to be alone. I hope she will have playmates; another cat, a small older dog with a calm temperament, a kind, warm child/family or all three. She would like a peaceful, quiet, infrequently active household; a calm girl, stay at home woman, a playful not aggressive child (older than 8).. She knows ‘NO’; & depending how it’s said, she knows what kind of ‘NO’.. STOP!! NOW, don't do that.. -more info avail..

Story
MARCH 2026 PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION BELOW. IT WILL ANSWER ALL YOUR QUESTIONS. If you still have questions after, we are happy to respond through email. It is a long read and a long adoption process. Please understand we are ensuring that our babies go to great homes and we don't know you personally (yet). Understand that this is an adoption of a beautiful little soul that deserves the absolute best life. The average lifespan of a cat is 13 to 20 years. Some cats even live into their thirties, although this is far less common. So don't let that discourage you from adopting an adult cat! Rescue Mama has had 3 live into their 20's. One was 8 weeks old. ATHENA GRANT and her 2 siblings (KAREN WILSON - JOSH RUSSO - MAY GRANT - EDDIE DIAZ) were saved from a hoarding case in Watts, California. They were all barley surviving. We named all the cats that were saved from that place after the characters in the show 911. ATHENA GRANT is a shy yet inquisitive cat. She possesses a loving demeanor and thrives on proximity to her human companions. While she enjoys cuddling, it is essential to respect her boundaries and allow her to initiate affection. A gradual approach is recommended, as sudden movements may be overwhelming. ATHENA GRANT is deeply devoted to her human family and requires time to establish trust. Her athletic build and slender physique are reminiscent of a track and field athlete. As a highly energetic and playful individual, ATHENA GRANT delights in engaging in physical activities and chasing toys. She coexists harmoniously with calm and composed felines who respect her personal space. However, she may become overwhelmed by assertive or dominant cats. ATHENA GRANTs greatest desire is to form a deep bond with a human companion. Due to her sensitive nature, it is advisable that she be placed in a household with older children who understand and respect personal boundaries. Her compatibility with canine companions is uncertain. ATHENA GRANT seems to be the kind of cat who is both subtle and graceful in her approach to relationships—whether with humans or other animals. Her Egyptian Mau background gives her a naturally athletic and agile build, but it also comes with a keen sense of awareness. These cats are often known for their intelligence and sensitivity, so ATHENA GRANT might be particularly attuned to the emotions of the people around her. When she’s shy, it’s likely her way of processing the world and making sure she feels comfortable with the energy in the room. It also means she can form incredibly strong bonds with her human family once she feels safe. It’s clear that patience is key with her. Since sudden movements can overwhelm her, it’s likely that building trust with Athena will take time, and that slow, consistent approach will eventually pay off. The fact that she’s playful and energetic suggests that once you’ve earned her trust, she’ll open up and be an active participant in your life. It’s just a matter of respecting her boundaries and allowing her to initiate physical affection when she feels ready. For someone who is attentive to her needs, I imagine ATHENA GRANT would be a deeply rewarding companion. Her playful side might come out during quiet, low-stress moments when she feels comfortable and secure. Given her athletic build, she’s probably not the type to just lounge around all day. Egyptian Maus are known for their energetic bursts, and I can imagine her delighting in chasing toys, maybe pouncing on them with that sleek, graceful movement that’s characteristic of the breed. Whether she’s chasing a feather wand or pouncing on a ball, those play sessions will likely be an essential part of her routine to burn off energy and keep herself mentally stimulated. When it comes to other animals, ATHENA GRANT seems like she could thrive in a calm, peaceful household. She’d likely get along best with other cats who respect her space—ones who are more introverted or laid-back rather than overly dominant or assertive. Since she’s sensitive, it’s understandable that she might feel overwhelmed by more dominant cats who are pushy or aggressive, but with the right companion, she might develop a harmonious relationship where both cats understand each other’s boundaries. The mention of her being better suited for a home with older children is insightful. Children who are respectful of ATHENA GRANT’s personal space would allow her to feel more secure and be able to interact with them at her own pace. ATHENA GRANT’s shyness could be an asset in a quieter, more structured environment where she can learn to trust the people around her at her own speed. ATHENA GRANT's story is one of resilience and healing, and her gentle soul is a reminder of the power of kindness and care. Though she’s come a long way from her rough beginnings, she’s never forgotten how much love can change a life. Now, she spends her days in quiet joy, a constant reminder of the unconditional love that a rescue pet can give. ATHENA GRANT’s journey from a sick kitten in a rehab center to the sweet lap cat she is today is a testament to the strength of the human-animal bond and the healing power of patience, care, and a warm lap. These poor babies were left in the sun in a total of two carriers in front of a church. Needless to say, the rescue mama set course that day to pick them up. It took us 2 days to get them all to the rescue and to foster care. So RACHEL VALDEZ (named after the show: WYNONNA EARP) we believe was kept very well by whomever abandoned her. With all the tragedy that has happened to this young girl and her family, she deserves to have a wonderful home. She is now living a nice pampered life. RACHEL VALDEZ is a HUGE LUV BUG. When you pick her up, she will stay still and allow pets. You can see in her sweet little face, she is has the look of wanting love. But she also looks like she will be quite sassy. She loves to play by herself or any kitten. She does this cute little butt drop dance hen someone approaches her. She really loves to play with toys. She loves her can food and she will tell you all about it. She needs a real family that will love her like their own family member. **** RACHEL VALDEZ does have scratches on her cornea. FEBUARY 2026 PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION BELOW. JANETTE MILLER and her 5 siblings (THEODORE SEVILLE - ALVIN SEVILLE - BRITTANY MILLER - ELEANOR MILLER- SIMON SEVILLE) were living in a large colony in Long Beach, California. She was part of a large colony that was getting TNR help. They were living in a busy parking area under cars because management had bolted shut the area under houses they use to seek shelter. People had intentionally run over some and poisoning others there. Since the 6 were already 5-6 months old and were unsocialized and very skittish, they were released back to the site. Their trapper called us crying the night she was releasing them because she had no other option since she already had 8 cats at home she had nowhere to put them. When she released them, all 6 were crying and confused in the middle of the street until they all came together and touched each other’s noses and cuddled up in a ball in middle of street. So that was our cue to bring them to our rescue. JEANTTE MILLER has taken her time to trust us. Now she is absolutely ready for her home! A testament to love: Meet JEANTTE MILLER, a survivor's journey to happiness! JEANTTE MILLER's story is a beautiful testament to the resilience of a once-frightened kitten and the transformative power of love. Brought in from the streets with her siblings, these young teens were understandably terrified and bewildered by their new, safe surroundings. But with patience and compassion, JEANTTE MILLER has blossomed into an incredibly loving and affectionate cat, ready to find her forever family. Today, all traces of that street-hardened fear are gone. Instead, you'll find a cat who adores being close to her people. Her favorite ritual is the graceful, loving rub against your legs, a sweet reward for her trust. This isn't just a casual interaction; it's an invitation for affection, a sign that she has chosen you as her safe space. When it comes to the simple joys of life, JEANTTE MILLER is an enthusiast. Her love for a good meal is evident, especially when it comes to her delicious wet food. She will also happily let you carry her, a sign of her complete trust in you. Her affectionate nature shines brightest during cuddle sessions, where she will soak up all the pets and attention you can give. And when it's time to play, she is a delightful and curious playmate, with a love for all kinds of toys. But perhaps one of JEANTTE MILLER's most endearing qualities is her little meow. For a cat of her size, her voice is a surprisingly dainty and sweet little sound, a perfect final touch to her charming personality. It's just one more delightful detail that makes her so special. JEANTTE MILLER is a survivor who has left her past behind and is embracing a future filled with love and comfort. She is living proof that a little bit of patience can lead to a lifetime of purrs and affection. If you're looking for a loving companion who will remind you every day of the good that's possible, JEANTTE MILLER is waiting to meet you. JANETTE MILLER is a EGYPTIAN MAU / TABBY-TIGER MIX. If we haven't reached out....be patient. KANE is ALREADY fully vetted. The adoption fee of $200 covers: Neuter FVRCP shots RABIES shot FELV/FIV test (Negative/Negative) Drontal Dewormer Stronghold Flea Control Microchip We are NOT a government FUNDED shelter and all our donations and adoption fees are for our rescued cats/kittens. So, we do not do DISCOUNTS. If for some unfortunate reason you missed out on the kitten/cat you emailed about...I'm sure that we could help you with another rescue baby! Just ask!
