Story
Mr. Tychus here. Decided to ease myself off the couch for some good conversation. I'm a 10-year-old fella offering free snuggles and underbites. Love to follow Foster Pop around the house and sleep right up against him. He doubles as a security blanket. I keep him in my sight while I wait for my golden years soulmate to find me. Could it finally be you?  When I’m not binge-watching nature shows #netflixandbulldogchill, I’m an outdoor enthusiast—walks, hikes, water, streams. I do it all! When I’m ready for some fresh air, I’ll tell you. In dog speak, I’m saying, “Hey, let’s go find some sunshine!” or “Time for a Pup Cup road trip!!”   A nice car ride, wind in my jowls, underbite gleaming through the windshield. My generation always loved a Sunday drive.  Got treats? I’ll gladly sit, even shake your hand. Like my old pal Popeye used to say, “I yam what I yam.”  I’m selective with pup pals—man of discriminating taste—and prefer to enjoy your company in less crowded venues. Me, you, a nice fire, a bedtime story. So many tales to tell!  Waddya say? Make an old guy forever smile?  Waiting with snaggletooth, spots, and love,  Mr. Tychus My volunteer adds: I have Ty for a bit (hope we find him a foster). He has great manners and has been doing awesome. Look at this handsome boy - loving him!! ********PLEASE READ BELOW PRIOR TO EMAILING IN**********If you are interested in adopting this dog or any other from our rescue, please go to https://www.hobocare.org/adopt to review our home requirements and fill out an application. Story
Greetings, Mortals.   I’m Vera Wang, a 5-year-old bulldog mix and high priestess of spirit. And true to my namesake, the world-famous fashion designer, my spots and smile are runway-worthy.    Speaking of runways, I sure do strut my stuff. Yeah, I’m short. True, my legs are hobbit-like. But throw a chew toy, or toss me some treats? I’m an Olympic runner, racing toward the finish line. Well, I guess I’d be more of a shotput queen, but no less committed to sniffing for glory.    The real Vera Wang doesn’t like Velcro, but Vera the Pup sure does! As in, your shin, your leg, whatever part of you is closest to me—I’m in! I will stay right beside you, leaning, touching, being a short, squatty shadow. Treats, toys, everything about you: I’m as loyal as they come! I’ll sleep in my crate, as long as I can see you. Invitation to bed?  RSVP says YES.  I resonate with older kids, and small pets are too much competition (short pup, tall personality). As you may have guessed, I have opinions---vacuums and blow dryers, foe; sunshine, foodstuffs, anywhere near you? Friend for life. I had no idea the world was so aromatic. Flowers, plants, bully sticks, wet grass….how do you get anything done? Short legs plus olfactory overload mean walks are quite leisurely for me. I’m sure I could pick up the pace, but why?  Climb every mountain, sniff every tree. Squirrels tick me off, birds are intriguing, and being your shadow is simply divine. I’m a tactile lady—love me a good lap for my somewhat weighty head.    I’m exceptional at sitting for treats (happy to chase them, too!), and I instantly sit at intersections. Vera Wang understands social niceties. What I lack in leg length, I make up for in personality. Are you looking for a snaggletoothed supermodel who knows how to work a crowd? I just may be your cover girl.    Yours in short, sassy style,  Vera Wang   ********PLEASE READ BELOW PRIOR TO EMAILING IN**********If you are interested in adopting this dog or any other from our rescue, please go to https://www.hobocare.org/adopt to review our home requirements and fill out an application. Story
Meet Dolly —rescued from the brink of tragedy. Dolly is a loving and gentle English bulldog who, along with her 7-week-old puppies, narrowly escaped euthanasia at a high-kill shelter. This beautiful little family was abandoned and left with no hope, but now they’re getting a second chance at life, and we’re determined to find them the loving homes they so desperately deserve. -Update, her puppies were adopted! Dolly is a sweet mama who has been through so much, and it shows in her tired eyes and skin issues that likely resulted from months of neglect. Yet despite it all, her heart remains full of love. She adores attention and will melt into your arms with gratitude when given the chance to feel safe. She’s was a dedicated mother to her puppies, but now she deserves a chance to be cared for, to rest, and to experience the joy of being someone’s cherished pet. Dolly is great with people, and with the right care, she will blossom into the happy, healthy dog she’s meant to be. Help us rewrite their story with a happy ending—apply to adopt today.

Story
We found Penelope from a Craigslist ad 9 years ago. We were told she was a french bulldog but speculate that she is mixed with pug. Unfortunately, Penelope is aggressive with other dogs and is now aggressive with our 11 month old as he has learned to walk. It breaks our heart to have to look for a new home for Penelope but it is best for our family. She is a very sweet girl in the right environment. We would like to find her a home where she is the only dog and there are no kids or other pets in the household.

Story
Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Carlitos finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours  (please check your spam folder for our emails) .   Carlitos | 8-year-old French Bulldog | Professional napper with a soft spot for snuggles Carlitos is an 8-year-old French Bulldog with a calm, easygoing personality and a serious talent for relaxing. At 26 pounds, this low-energy guy is happiest spending his days lounging, napping, and soaking up attention from his people. He is very food- motivated, loves treats of all kinds, and enjoys chewing on bones. Carlitos is crate trained and does wonderfully when left home alone in his crate, where he will happily settle in and sleep. He is still working on house training—he does best with a consistent routine and patience, especially since he can be a bit stubborn about going outside unless he’s crated beforehand. Carlitos is not a fan of leashed walks and prefers a quieter lifestyle, but he truly comes to life when playing with other dogs, especially puppies or dogs his size. He has had positive interactions with small and similar-sized dogs and does well around cats, largely ignoring them. He hasn’t met children yet, but he is friendly, affectionate, and loves to cuddle with adults. His energy level is low, making him an excellent companion for someone looking for a relaxed, loving dog rather than a hiking or jogging partner. Carlitos would thrive in a home with someone who can let him outside consistently and who understands that he may take a little extra time and patience when it comes to potty training. He adores attention and snuggling and would likely enjoy having another dog in the home to keep him company and encourage play. Carlitos does have some medical needs that will require ongoing care, including limited eyesight due to eye growths and cloudiness, as well as regular nail trims, as his nails tend to grow into his pads if not closely monitored. Despite these challenges, Carlitos is a sweet, gentle soul who is ready to settle into a loving home where he can relax, be adored, and enjoy life at his own slow, cozy pace.   If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $100. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls. PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!
