Story
Are you ready to embark on a prehistoric adventure filled with cuddles, playtime, and joy? Look no further than our lovable dinosaur disguised as a dog, the one and only Tyrannosaurus Tex! Tex is a sweet dog with a personality as big as a brontosaurus. You will absolutely love it when he dances for you at mealtime and when he crawls into your lap as you enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning. His medium size makes for excellent snuggling. Also, those ears! Tex is as sharp as a velociraptor's claw! With some treats for motivation, he quickly picks up new tricks. He currently knows basic commands (sit/down/stay/off) and also rings a bell at the door when he needs to go outside for relief. He craves mental and physical stimulation and would love a home with another dog around to play with and show him the ropes. Tex is also a fan of adventures. He loves car rides, and while out in the mountains or just walking through the neighborhood, he is more interested in the scenery and scents than other dogs. He’s happy being next to you and doesn’t need to be at the head of the pack if he’s got other companions along for the hike. Tex is up to date on all vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped. The only thing this little dino is missing is a loving and active family to call his own. Apply today and meet your next best friend! Adoption fee includes the following: Spay/Neuter Rabies Vaccination Distemper / Parvo Vaccines (includes series of 3 for puppies) Bordetella Microchip with prep ##1695012##

Story
Meet the adorable Tammy, a one-year-old Bulldog/Dachshund mix on a quest for love! This little potato is not just cute but also a hilarious ball of energy. Though shy initially, once Tammy feels safe, get ready for a showcase of her epic zoomies and ever-expanding parkour skills – she's a natural-born comedian. Tammy's goofy antics are sure to keep her future family in stitches. As she builds trust, she transforms into a sweet and loving companion who adores snuggling and burrowing close. Tammy is a canine social butterfly, and she is great with other dogs and always looks to her furry friends for guidance. Whether it's bigger dogs or teeny tiny puppies, Tammy handles it all with excellence. For optimal happiness, Tammy would thrive in a home with another dog, providing her with that extra layer of security. She's even been introduced to the resident cat without a hitch. A serene environment with adults or chill older kids suits Tammy perfectly. Currently mastering leash skills and basic commands, Tammy is making remarkable progress. She's already house trained, crate trained, and familiar with the doggie door. While the big wide world may seem intimidating, Tammy is gaining confidence and conquering her fears. This sweetheart is up to date on vaccinations, spayed, microchipped, and heartworm negative. If you're ready to welcome a bundle of joy into your life, complete with patience, kindness, and a stash of treats, Tammy is your girl! Story
Hello! My name is Penelope and I am a playful and very loving 2.5 year old English Bulldog. I love to go for walks, do zoomies, and play with my toys. Afterwards you can find me napping near you. I love to follow my mom and dad around the house because I think I am a super helper. I have lived with my parents since I was 10 weeks old, but unfortunately I don't get along with my dog sister. I would require some patience and structure as I adjust to a new home. I would prefer a low traffic home or a safe crate to be in if there are visitors. Although I am not a fan of my sister, I really love my big brother and we are best friends. I would love a big dog brother or to be the only dog in the house. I love to cuddle with my mom and dad and will watch any TV's shows or sports. I am not picky! I have been working with a trainer on managing my fear and skills. I am getting so good at my training and am getting better about being less fearful. I would love to be a part of your home!

Story
Hi, I'm Ruffles, a squatty ball of energy ready to bring joy into your life! I may be compact, but my enthusiasm for wrestling matches knows no bounds. Walks are my absolute favorite – I'm always up for an adventure! Treats are the key to my heart, and my goofy antics will keep you laughing. With strength and energy to spare, I'm not just a dog; I'm your new best friend waiting to be adopted into a loving home. Let's embark on this journey together!   Ruffles is a high energy, fun loving guy. He gets excited for his walks and still needs a little help with his manners. This beautiful bully guy was calm and quiet in the kennel and came up the gate to say my hello, he was a bit reluctant to be leashed but once I did he walked out easy, he gave polite tail wags and sniffs to other dogs in the kennels, he is a bit scared of loud barking but I think he’s be just fine outside of barc. He definitely has deformed front ankles but he still walks on them. He is treat motivated and accepted my pets. We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time.  When we do, it will be updated here.  This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above.  Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. Dogs adopted with our rescue come with FREE training from #GoodPup to help you build strong bonds from the start! If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free Pet insurance.  We are not affiliated with Pet First pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect).  Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico.  While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.   More questions?  Read our FAQs here: https://4p4l.org/faqs/  A new study has concluded that (in layman's terms), breed assumption is NOT indicative of behavior in mixed breed dogs.  Therefore, if a dog looks presumably to be a German Shepherd breed, one cannot assume the dog will have a high prey drive.  From the study: "Although many physical traits were associated with breeds, behavior was much more variable among individual dogs. In general, physical trait heritability was a greater predictor of breed but was not necessarily a predictor of breed ancestry in mutts. Among behavioral traits, biddability—how well dogs respond to human direction—was the most heritable by breed but varied significantly among individual dogs. Thus, dog breed is generally a poor predictor of individual behavior and should not be used to inform decisions relating to selection of a pet dog" - https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/science.abk0639 ##1668942##
