Story
Hi everyone! My name is Spud, and I'm a 7-year-old English Bulldog looking for a loving forever home. I'm neutered, microchipped, house-trained, and up-to-date on all my shots. I'm easy to walk on a leash, but only for short walks, as I get tired easily. I also enjoy lying in the sun. I love car rides with the windows down, and I'm incredibly loving and grateful for any and all attention. I also really enjoy playing in the water with a hose and jumping around while I'm being sprayed! I never get tired of that, any time of day. It's also a good opportunity to get a bath and scrub down. I enjoy playing with colorful rope or large toys. I'll run around so my human can chase me, or play tug-of-war. I might make growling sounds while playing, but that just means I'm having fun. You'll also see my tail wagging furiously, which is a sure sign that I'm a happy dog. I prefer to be the only pet in the house. I don't like being around other dogs or cats. For some reason, I also get a little unruly around small children or babies. I don't know why, but I just don't seem to like them. I'm unable to produce tears, so my eyes need special saline rinsing and moisturizing eye drops regularly. I'm okay with you cleaning and moisturizing my eyes whenever I need it. You can see videos of me here https://www.instagram.com/adoptspud/reels/ If you'd like to meet me, please submit an application on the aceofheartsdogs.com website!

Please do not contact EAPL  about courtesy listings. The pet owner/rescue/shelter and new owner shall make all arrangements on transferring the pet, information on history, vaccines, etc.  Please reach out to Ben at 317-258-7861 for adoption inquiries.   George is a 4 year and 8 month old English Bulldog. His birthday is 10/18/2019. He is a LOVER. He loves to be around his humans, hang outside in the sun, and snuggle on the couch. He also loves a good game of tug-of-war. He is in perfect health. He has been through training and knows all of the standard commands. He is crate trained (but hasn’t been in a crate at home in a few years as he does well free roaming). In his forever home, George would thrive as the only dog in the household. He doesn’t socialize with other dogs the best. He saves all of his love for the people around him. He does great with adults and kiddos. He is a well-behaved boy that is happy to do his own thing or soak up any and all attention you are willing to give him. He is sure to light up any room he is in with a fun-loving energy.    Re-homing fee for George is $500.    Please reach out to Ben at 317-258-7861 for adoption inquiries. June 24, 2024, 5:09 pm

Story
** If you are interested in adopting Rosie, please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ ** Rosie is a gorgeous, sweet little thing! She is an adorable English Bulldog mix. She was found as a stray in Houston TX, and brought into a small, overcrowded, high-kill shelter. Rosie is believed by the vets to be 3 years old, and she is 58 lbs. Rosie is a happy, snorty, squishy faced girl. She is so friendly and sweet and does great with other dogs. From Rosie’s foster: “She’s so goofy! She immediately did her business when she goes outside. Verrrry treat motivated! She goes crazy for a tennis ball; it's her favorite toy! She gets very focused on it but I am able to take it away from her without issue. She is such a derpy, fun girl!" As Rosie becomes comfortable in her forever home, she'll blossom and show her personality more and more. It takes rescue dogs a few days typically to feel comfortable in a new home, given all that they have been through. Farfel's Rescue feels very strongly that every dog deserves the opportunity for formal, positive reinforcement/force-free training. We therefore aren't willing to adopt out to a home that doesn't choose to offer this training opportunity. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of approved positive reinforcement/force-free virtual and in-person trainers in your area. Rosie is up to date on her vetting/vaccinations and spayed, to be in line with our commitment to only adopting out healthy dogs. Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial. Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year. If you are interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ .

Story
Staff notes - SMOOSHY MEATBALL ALERT! Marshall is the sweetest boy that tippy taps when you approach his kennel to greet you. He's very gentle when taking treats, walks well on the leash, and he loves to meet other dogs too! He has good intentions with his exuberant personality although some dogs can be overwhelmed by his overly friendly behavior. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body, he just loves everyone he meets! In typical bulldog fashion, he's got some crusty eyes and an ear infection that he's being treated for. He'd love a home with someone that knows bulldogs and all of their needs. Anyone looking for a smooshy best friend, will adore Marshall!  Marshall was rescued from a shelter in New Mexico. Meet and greets are by appointment only.  An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Check out our events page for upcoming open adoption events! We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time.  When we do, it will be updated here.  This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above.  Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. Dogs adopted with our rescue come with FREE training from #GoodPup to help you build strong bonds from the start! If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free Pet insurance.  We are not affiliated with Pet First pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect).  Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico.  While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.   More questions?  Read our FAQs here: https://4p4l.org/faqs/  Breed labels are a "best guess" by a shelter veterinarian and cannot be guaranteed.  A new study has concluded that (in layman's terms), breed assumption is NOT indicative of behavior in mixed breed dogs.  Therefore, if a dog looks presumably to be a German Shepherd breed, one cannot assume the dog will have a high prey drive.  From the study: "Although many physical traits were associated with breeds, behavior was much more variable among individual dogs. In general, physical trait heritability was a greater predictor of breed but was not necessarily a predictor of breed ancestry in mutts. Among behavioral traits, biddability—how well dogs respond to human direction—was the most heritable by breed but varied significantly among individual dogs. Thus, dog breed is generally a poor predictor of individual behavior and should not be used to inform decisions relating to selection of a pet dog" - https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/science.abk0639 ##2077021##

Lucy and Ruby are a dynamic duo looking for their forever home together. These two sweet and chubby girls are inseparable and share a special bond that is truly heartwarming to witness. Lucy is the more outgoing of the two. She loves belly rubs and cuddling up next to her favorite people. Ruby, on the other hand, is a bit more reserved but warms up quickly once she gets to know you. Together, they make the perfect pair, complementing each other's personalities beautifully. One thing to note is that Lucy and Ruby are not fans of other dogs, so they would do best as the only pets in the home.
