Buddy was found and a good Samaritan is fostering him for us. He is about two years old. He has such a wonderful, friendly personality. He's clearly been an indoor dog, as he's very comfortable and affectionate.. Regarding other dogs, he's actually fantastic with her five dogs. Buddy is amazing at reading other dogs, and gives the foster's older dog the space that she needs. As for kids, the foster doesn't have any, however; given how gentle and loving he is with everyone he meets, we truly believe he'd be absolutely wonderful with children. He just seems to adore people! of all kinds and sizes! Buddy,with a heart as big as his paws and a face that looks permanently unimpressed—but don’t be fooled. Beneath that sturdy, low-to-the-ground build is a total sweetheart. Buddy is a champion nap-taker, an expert snacker, and a loyal companion who takes his job as best friend very seriously. He loves slow walks where he can stop to inspect everything, belly rubs on demand, and being exactly where his people are at all times. Buddy may not move fast, but he lives life with purpose—especially when treats are involved. Equal parts tough-looking and tender-hearted, Buddy proves that true charm comes with a little drool and a lot of love He's already really good with kennel training, which is a huge bonus! He is kennel and potty trained as well. Buddy is a big dog with a huge heart! He weighs 70 lbs. We love Maverick and were very excited when he joined our family two years ago. He is a great playmate to our other dog and kids. We are told he was born in May of 2022. The family we got him from was moving abroad and couldn't keep him. They got him from a breeder and we even saw photos of his parents (mom English bulldog and dad American bulldog). Unfortunately, over the past year, Maverick has lost control of his hind legs and is incontinent. (He was house and crate trained prior to the medical issues.) We've seen a neurologist who suspects he has a vertebral malformation or a Subarachnoid Diverticulum. We tried steroids in hopes they would help but they didn't. Maverick is a big teddy bear & deserves a family that can give him to love, care, and attention he needs. He knows his commands but has to be enticed with food/treats. He can be stubborn at times. He loves bananas & bone shaped biscuits from Petsmart and Trader Joes. He has a sensitive tummy and allergies (Claritin).

Meet Pugsley Hey There, I'm Pugsley. I'm just a guy looking for that special love connection. Are you my perfect match? At 4 years old, I am a fawn-colored, 24-pound French Bulldog/Chihuahua mix. My foster says I am an excellent companion dog. I am crate-trained and housetrained. I walk well on a leash, but I forget my manners if I see another dog on the walk and lunge when I see one. When I arrived at the rescue, I had some injuries possibly caused by rough encounters with other dogs or wildlife. Because of this, I can sometimes be aggressive when I see other dogs. Although I have had some tough times, I can be a great companion dog. My foster says, "He is always by my side when I'm home. He sleeps on the bed with me without trouble at all." I'm ready to live my best life. It would be best if there were no children under 10 in the home, and I would be best as an only dog. Walking with me can be challenging if we encounter another dog, so a house with a backyard is ideal. I would not be a good fit for a first-time dog owner. Still, I could thrive with an experienced handler who can help me develop my behavior, manners, and reactions with other dogs as I learn to feel safe and secure. When you get to know me, and I warm up to you, I can be a wonderful dog. I would love to show you that. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor and you must undergo a home visit from an RHS representative. Apply. You can complete an application at an MTP event or complete it online by either clicking the button below or the “Adopt” button beneath the pet’s photo in the listings above. Phone Interview or Attend a Meet the Pets (MTP) event. This is a great opportunity to meet the pet you are interested in and see if you connect. We hold these events once a month on Saturday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. We post the pets who are expected to attend on Friday evening on our Facebook page. For exact details and locations, view our event calendar. If an event is over a week away, a counselor may contact you for a phone interview. Home Visit. If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will set up a home visit where you can meet the pet you are interested in again and the pet can meet other pets in the family. We will try to send the foster parent so you can learn more about how the pet is in a home environment. Complete Adoption. If all feel it is a good match, we will schedule the adoption at MTP or an off-site location. The applicant will need to complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee.
