Story
I'm a redneck woman I ain't no high class broad I'm just a product of my raising I say, "hey y'all" and "yee-haw" - Gretchen Wilson "Redneck Woman" Meet our redneck woman, Sweet Tater aka Sweet Tayda when she's in the city! Tayda is a 10 year old beer slinging, foul mouthed country gal who weighs about 70 pounds and won't stop blasting the Gretchen Wilson tunes on her CD player. Foster moms about to take that away! Tayda found herself in a city shelter and just couldn't mold and be lady that adopters wanted her to be. She tried to eat their cats and even them if they tried to pry the deep fried oreo out of her mouth! Knowing that Augusta Dog Adoptions has a reputation of being just as wild and unchained as Tayda, they asked it we could help her right before they were about send her to meet her sweet, Lord Jesus. Amen. Since joining us, we've let Sweet Tayda be herself. She eats about anything she wants and gets stuffed toys to relive out her old hunting days tearing them to bits! And she keeps her Christmas lights on, on her front porch all year long and she knows every word to every Tanya Tucker song! Tayda is looking for a true hound lover who understands that she is what she is. You aren't going to train the naughty out of her and you aren't going to force her to being something she is not. What she is is funny, happy, friendly and glad to be alive! She's happy sleeping in her doghouse with a full belly but we have hope that we can find her a real home where is can be a part of a family! ... A family with no cats and no kids to steal her chicken nuggets. She'd love to be the only dog but has been able to tolerate another old hound who is more of a redneck that she is. That's Laith. And we'll be happy to send him with her! Keep hope alive! Homes for all bad hounds! Yeah! And Tayda says...So here's to all my sisters Out there keeping it country Let me get a big "hell yeah" From the redneck girls like me Hell yeah (Hell yeah) Augusta Dog Adoptions is a 501c3, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and schedule adoptions in Waynesboro, VA. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue but Sweet Tayda's adoption fee has been waived in hopes of helping her find a home. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries. COURTESY LISTINGLooking for a furry friend who embodies the spirit of adventure? Meet Melody, the adorable and spirited Transylvanian Hound (or maybe a Black and Tan Coonhound) looking for her forever home! At 3 years old and 60 lbs, Melody is bursting with energy, intelligence, and love. She's searching for a family who understands hound traits and can provide her with the active and engaging lifestyle she craves. Melody is a clever girl who loves playing games, especially searching for hidden toys. She already knows the command "sit" and will impress you with her obedience. When it's time to unwind, she's happy to relax with her plush toy trying to find the squeaker and keeping herself entertained. Melody is a great companion for outdoor adventures and long walks. She adores being outside and will accompany you on every exploration. While she enjoys her high-energy activities, she can also settle down and cuddle up, ready for some quality time on the couch. Melody has great house manners and is house trained and crate trained. She sleeps soundly in her crate, making bedtime a breeze. Car rides are a joy for her, and she'll eagerly join you. Melody is not a fan of cats due to her prey drive and would probably do best as the only pet in her home. She loves children and is friendly with strangers, showing her affectionate nature to everyone she meets. Like most hounds, Melody is strong on the leash. She requires an owner who can handle her strength and provide the guidance she needs. She's ready to bring her zest for life and infectious happiness into your home. Don't miss out on the opportunity to share your adventures with this special hound dog, Miss Melody! Apply to adopt today. This dog is a courtesy listing (not in the AARF program) but we will be reviewing applications and helping the owner find the right home for Melody. Please visit http://aarf-tn.com/adopt/adoption-app/ to apply.  Interested in adopting? Take the first step and complete an adoption application on our website: http://aarf-tn.com/adopt/adoption-apps/ If you have questions that are not covered in the profile, visit the Pet Inquiry Form: http://aarf-tn.com/contact/pet-inquiry-form/. THIS PET IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE! We do list and adopt our pets nationwide. Typical transport cost to the Northeast is $180. Due to interstate adoption regulations, we are not able to adopt to RI and MA state residents. A.A.R.F. (All About Rescue and Fixin' Inc.) http://aarf-tn.com/ is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) no kill animal rescue organization located in the Upper Cumberland area of Tennessee. A.A.R.F. is comprised of unpaid volunteers and survives only on public donations. Thank you for thinking adoption first! Prior to adoption, all canines and felines are spayed or neutered, have received their age appropriate vaccinations, have been de-wormed for common parasites, and have received treatment for prevention of fleas and ticks. All canines over the age of 6 months have been tested for heartworm. All canines are put on heartworm prevention as soon as possible - this means dogs as soon as they are tested negative. Puppies are put on prevention immediately. All felines, regardless of age, have been tested for Feline Leukemia/FIV. Each animal receives a health check by a licensed veterinarian prior to adoption. Anything else found will be treated by our organization prior to adoption. May 25, 2024, 3:44 pm
