Story
Mel (a.k.a. Mellie, Meller Time & Marshall Mellow) is the cat who was born with a silver mouse in his mouth. His singsong trilling and stunning movie star good looks ensured he was voted "best looking" and "most likely to succeed" in high school. Yep, he was one of the cool cats in town. With his charisma and charm, who wouldn't fall head over heels for him? Mel's a lap cat, but only when he feels like it. If you're lucky enough to have him grace your lap, just make sure you're not too needy or grabby or you'll end up on the receiving end of his squinty-eyed disapproval. And trust me, when Mel recoils from you, he does it with such finesse that you'll feel like a complete fool for even trying. He’ll let you know when it’s time to hang out. When he starts ankle sharking, that’s one of your cues to participate. But remember, it's always on his terms. Mel's pretty easy going with other cats, but don't mistake his peaceful demeanor for weakness. He's all about "peace through strength" and he'll maintain the harmony with his attitude. He’s even tolerant of dogs … If they behave themselves. Even though Mel is starting to mature in cat years, he’s still quite playful. He enjoys wand toys, catnip toys, balls and sometimes he even gets the zoomies … Always maintaining his dignity while doing so, of course. He's the total package and he knows it. It's Mellie's world and we're all just living in it. Rescue background: Mel’s rescuer started feeding a young female feral cat she had just TNR’d. Right away Mel started showing up at every feeding. Turns out, Mel and the little female cat were good buddies. Before long they both became residents of the rescuer’s yard. Over time the rescuer discovered Mel is very comfortable indoors. He was already ear-tipped when found, so someone else had TNR’d him, but Mel was always friendly and was clearly an inside cat at some point in his life. Are you ready to welcome Mel into your heart and home?

Story
VERY ACCEPTING OF LOVING TODDLERS  DOB 6/22/22 Hey there, everyone! I’m Cleocatra, and my sky-blue eyes make me a bewitching femme fatale, just like my hooman counterpart. I’m a sweet, friendly, playful bicolor grey-tabby-with white/ Siamese mix gal who luxuriates in all the attention that my foster family lavishes on me. I serenely tolerate even the most heavy-handed petting, cuddling, and grabbing by my toddler foster sister. In fact, I can be very vocal if I feel that I’m being neglected. I’m really quite an amazingly social gal who enthusiastically cherishes head scratches, back rubs, and lap cuddles – even from tiny hoomans. Other than snuggle-time, my favorite parts of the day are playtime and treat time. I’m a regular soccer striker because of the way I chase fuzzy balls and catnip mice around the house, and I love to shred feathers that are waved enticingly over my head. My tiny hooman has endeared herself to me by offering me squeezable Churus and crunchy Temptation treats. It wasn’t long ago that I was fearlessly fending for myself, living paw-to-mouth on the mean streets of Houston. Thank heavens Foster Meowmy noticed me in her neighborhood and slowly coaxed me inside. Once indoors full-time, I adjusted easily to all the inside amenities like climate control, brimming food/ water bowls, and warm beds. It’s as if I were always meant to be exclusively indoors. However, as a carryover of being an outdoor stray, I do not like or trust the resident dogs, and I make it clear to them to stay out of my personal space. It’s a nuisance to have to set boundaries for these pesky creatures continuously, so I’d prefer a home without dogs. If you’re searching for a beautiful, well-adjusted feline to rule your family dynasty, I’m your girl! I’d especially welcome a home with a toddler or young child who will snuggle with me and feed me my favorite treats. Of course, I certainly wouldn’t turn down any attention that an older hooman wants to shower on me! Incidentally, there are advantages to adopting a kitty who’s beyond the craziness of kitten mayhem. I’m much less likely to cause chaos in your home or break any of your prized accessories. HOPE ID 24-0309-A006 If you are interested in Cleocatra and would like to fill out an online Cat Adoption Application, please go to http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/cat-adoption.php . Submitting an application does not obligate you to adopt, but it initiates contact with us and gets the process started.  If you have questions prior to filling out the application or want to find out which adoption site this feline will be this week-end, email us at hope@homelesspets.net , and a volunteer will get back to you.
