I’m Ivy, a sweet, gentle, curious, and playful Seal-point Siamese mix gal who got my name because – beautiful as I am – I was found hiding in the ivy that covered the backyard of Foster Meowmy’s friend. Only three months old with no momma or siblings in sight, I cowered with fear. In my defensive frenzy, I appeared so wild that Foster Meowmy had to use a net to catch me. But I was shy -- someone’s lost or abandoned kitten who, after being coddled all my short life, felt terrified and threatened when forced to fend for myself. Thank heavens Foster Meowmy is an experienced cat lady who knew to let me warm up at my own pace. A few weeks after I arrived in the safe haven of my foster home, I relaxed and became my former social self. Once we were properly introduced, I became friends with the resident cats, who have become my playmates and surrogate family. I also love playing with my favorite yellow ball and crinkle fish -- so much that you’d think I was a pro soccer striker. When I’m finished batting my toy around, I like to drop it in my food dish or water bowl, much to the dismay of Foster Meowmy! Give me a break – I have a little streak of mischief in my otherwise perfect self! Now I’m ready to bring my stunning Oriental beauty, winsome kitten vivacity, and whimsical curiosity to my forever home. Could that be you? I am very reserved, quiet and on the timid side but I am an absolute sweetheart! I love being gently petted, loved on, and will be the perfect addition to anyone’s family. I have a very sweet meow. I’m around 6 years old, have excellent litter box habits, and I get along with other sweet cats and have lots of love to give. Until recently, I was living in an auto repair shop. She is so cuddly and affectionate that you won’t lack for lots of kitty love. She lets any stranger pick her right up and hold her, and she doesn’t care about other cats at all. She will go right up and snuggle with your dog too. Swifty has FOMO, overflowing confidence, and isn’t afraid of anything, even feet stepping over her. She is the greeter and makes sure everyone knows she is there, and is always literally right in the middle of the action. Her whole litter is athletic and were nicknamed the ninjas because there was no containing them. None of them has ever met anyone who isn’t her friend. Swifty would be a great first pet, especially for people who love dogs, because her personality is more like a golden retriever than a typical cat! Background Swifty’s litter of 5 kittens and her momma Empanada (a Hemingway cat with extra toes!) were living outdoors in an apartment complex, being fed by residents before she was surrendered to a GNAR foster home. Empanada had been there for many months, long enough to have had more than 1 litter of kittens. Her litter of kittens almost all look just like her, except that they only have the normal number of toes. They all have the same outgoing and confident personality of their mother too. They look like they may be part Abyssinian with their distinctive tabby patterns and reddish brown coloring.
